    On a more serious note, primary season — which has already started — is bound to divide us. I had the idea that instead of trying to fight it, we could embrace it. Make a game out of it, that we restrict to the playing field of the political threads. One where we take our passion and put it into a creative non-insult, so that the rest of the comment can be reasoned. Something like this:

    Smitty, you moldy old lawn chair, Cruz isn’t a viable candidate because of his smug-looking face.

    Daniel, you dirty old catalytic converter, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Also, he is right on policy and a leader on bucking the squishy RINO establishment.

    What do you think? Am I crazy? On to something? Third option?

    Sure, he’s a smart guy. And, I don’t say provocative things expecting agreement; that would be silly.

    At the same time, I only say what I mean, and I chafe under the notion that I’m going to have to toe some sub-sub-party line to get along here for the NEXT EFFING YEAR.

    In another thread, we’ve already had another commenter called a troll for expressing a calm, reasoned dissent. I’m not even going to always meet that standard, so what does that make me?

    I’m looking into the future, not liking what I see, and trying to get ahead of it.

    It’s been kind of fun watching the squishier Republicans tie themselves into knots trying to portray anything Cruz has said as being radical or somehow not what they want.

    It’s kind of like they won a shiny new Gulfstream G650 and are going through the pretense that the tires aren’t the really good ones and the paint job is not exciting.
