Is the Huffington Post burying its head in the sand, or worse?
States attempting to ensure the validity of elections are under attack by the occasionally amusing, but mostly stone cold crazy 9th Circuit Court of Idiocy are where the real questions begin:
A federal appeals court on Tuesday struck down a key part of Arizona’s law requiring voters to prove they are citizens before registering to vote and to show identification before casting ballots.
The decision by a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found the law requiring voters to prove their citizenship while registering is inconsistent with the National Voter Registration Act. That federal law allows voters to fill out a mail-in voter registration card and swear they are citizens under penalty of perjury, but doesn’t require them to show proof as Arizona’s law does.
Then there is Eric Holder’s Department of (in)Justice, but you’ll have to read J. Christian Adams to catch all that detail.
Back at HuffPo, David Spencer Seconi, Managing Editor of CheatingCulture.com, offers “The Right’s Obsession With Voter Fraud“. Not to say that Seconi’s domain name, itself, doesn’t adequately answer the question: “Is Seconi a boob?”, but his final ‘graph is a hoot in this context:
While voting fraud does not occur at the level some conservative websites would have you believe, it is still wrong, however, to automatically assume the problem does not exist. Yet, it becomes impossible to solve such a basic issue when it becomes political. Want evidence? Just ask the climate scientists who hired Al Gore for that documentary.
Now, voting is a political act. So, if part of the political act is too political to manage anymore, have we achieved anarchy? As for Saint Albert Gore, Jr. and, the poor wee scientists who ‘hired’ him to do the documentary: do they deserve more or less sympathy than the hamsters who awarded him the Oscar, not to mention the gerbils who gave him the Nobel Prize? As with the voter fraud, it’s a godforsaken racket, and Seconi is either a useful idiot or complicit. Probably the former thinking himself the latter.
