The enduring mystery of Chris Matthews:

Matthews insisted that he opposes intervention into Syria and said that America spends too much of its energy intervening in Arab nations. . . .
“As long as Syrians are fighting Syrians, that’s better than us fighting Syrians,” Matthews continued. “If we don’t stop killing Arabs on international television one of these days. It’s all we do is kill Arabs on international television.”
“I think that might have something to do with Jihad,” he concluded. “Just guessing.”

    Your job is exceedingly difficult and stressful when you have to watch someone like him. I couldn’t do it for even 30 seconds. The really sad part is that there are those who take him seriously. The good part is that there aren’t many. He – and the rest of those so-called journalists at MSNBC – prove over and over again that liberals have a mental disorder.

    Well, his conclusion is of course ridiculous, but his opening logic has it’s merits. There really is no winner here, like most of the rest of the “Arab Spring.”

    The enemy of my enemy is…..My enemy’s enemy. Nothing more, nothing less. Best thing is to root for injuries here.

    Syria is a screwed up place, full of people who if they prevail against Assad will not be better (many may be worse). I am not thrilled about Hezbollah or some Sunni fundamentalist regime taking over.

    So we probably should NOT get involved unless we think we can make things better at relatively low cost low risk. Look at Libya, was our involvement there worth it?

    And I am not getting any tingles over this. It is just a coincidence that Matthews holds this view. Leave Syria to the Turks and Israelis to pound the shit out of them when they act up.

    I don’t think you can lose a job at MSDNC just because nobody is watching you. If that were true, the entire network would disappear.

    Way back in the Olden Days, when cable news was still fresh and only the Kool Kids had 28.8K dial-up internet, MSNBC was a sort of hybrid news/business/tech channel. When Mathews began Hardball, he was bringing on a broad range of guests and asking tough questions of them all – and listening to their answers before following up.

    But, sadly, the world began to change. Microsoft soured on their partnership with NBC and began to back away from the network. Then they fired Imus for calling the Rutgers women’s basketball team “nappy-headed hoes” – which they most certainly called each other in the locker room.

    All the business news went, and they brought in failed sportscaster Olbermann to compete with O’Reilly on Fox. He never really did, but he was able to attract an audience of the lowest, nastiest, America-hating lefties. Mathews went along to keep up, but it was probably in his heart all along.

    I agree on Matthews’ lack of worth, but a bigger question looms. Why has The Other McCain recently turned into a gossip site?

    Moving chronologically in reverse: Matthews, Corkin (some news value), a military profile, weird intern, Dhzokhar and the Washington Post, Fox News and some joker (minor news value), rant about Brit tabloid, Rauhauser, bomb picture (some news value), Sirota rant. Finally, back on the 20th, a news story.

    I want my news site back.

    From the time I first found RSM’s patio, this has been an opinion site. His news stuff went elsewhere, although an opinion site has a very large news component.

    Personally, I wouldn’t complain about the lack of news on RSM’s patio. I really would like to know where you keep the cold drinks though. Hanging around this place can cause a pretty stout thirst.

    I’m just a dumbass from Texas, but didn’t we defend Bosnian mooslims in the ’90’s from the non-mooslim Croats and Serbs? After we carpet bombed the Croats and Serbs I remember Clinton did lob a (very) few cruise missles into mooslim territory but didn’t do much damage besides knocking down an empty aspirin factory and hitting a THE SPOT where Osama bin Laden pinched one 3 days prior. That apparently irritated Osama since he is the one who eventually escalated and killed 3,000 U.S. citizens on American soil. We didn’t really start killing mooslims until they signed their own death warrants.
    Matthews is a moron. He has a brain like Bidens’ – it’s always in gear but there’s no one behind the wheel to steer his mouth and the looney left loves it.
