Future Kentucky Sen. Puffy Face: Everything She Doesn’t Like Is Rape

She’ll have fun running in Kentucky on this platform:
Using graphic language in an opinion piece about “conflict minerals,” potential U.S. Senate candidate Ashley Judd in 2010 accused those who buy Apple products of “financing mass rape.”
“Apple is known for the clean lines of their products, the alluring simplicity of their designs,” Judd wrote in the article. “Dare I . . . go so far . . . as to suggest…this signature cleanness is stained by the shit and urine of raped women’s leaking fistulas?”
Judd, the Hollywood actress and liberal activist considering a run as a Democrat for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky, made the comments in an article on her website, which is titled “Costs of Convenience.”
Judd wrote the piece while visiting the Congo in August 2010 in an attempt to draw attention to “conflict minerals” — resources mined in places where conflict or human rights abuses are prevalent.
In recent years, Apple has emphasized publicly and on its website that the company is “committed to using conflict-free minerals.”
But in 2010, Judd wrote that while she enjoys a variety of Apple products — iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac Book Air — she is concerned about whether the minerals used to produce them are “conflict minerals.”
“My electronics, received as gifts or purchased, profit armed militias and support slavery,” Judd wrote. “I am financing mass rape as I enjoy these ridiculously Global North ultra-efficiencies and conveniences, for large scale rape is the preferred predation mining interests use to humiliate and terrify local populations, in order to control resource areas.”
Read the whole thing. I agree with Glenn Reynolds: Let’s wait until Puffy Face wins the Democrat nomination before we destroy her.

But you know something: Sometimes even Ashley Judd is spot on correct!

Sen. Puffy Face? That’s really clever, Blogger Rotten Teeth.

The Appalachian appellation for Ms. Judd is “Nuttier than squirrel poop.”

Yeah, no need to jump all over Judd just yet. The worst possible thing we could do is hit her with everything too soon and create some sort of sympathy backlash for her.
Besides, as the TNR writer noted, in Kentucky it’s been a very long time since a Democrat won a statewide race for national office. Clinton took the state, but with 46%. Judd’s statements on coal and Obama alone are enough to beat her, no need to stick our hands too deep into the crazy.

No. Let’s bring out everything now and maybe she’ll decide running for office is like rape.
Frankly, if it’s done without too much derision but amazed concern for her mental state and stability, there shouldn’t be too much sympathy.
The ideas she has aren’t so far fetched but it’s the obvious obsession she has about rape that is disturbing.
Perhaps if she spent more time in therapy.
And by the way; if citizens can have their rights taken away for displaying mental issues, why should we allow them to run for political office? A much more dangerous position that can affect millions of innocent lives.

Yah, but are we talking about plain ol’ rape, or Whoopi Goldberg rape-rape?

this doesn’t really affect me, not my state, but boy do I dislike people moving to a state just to allow them to run for office in that state.

Well, a lot of conservatives have devoted a lot of time and effort to destroying Mitch McConnell, so Ashley might very well be the end result. I’d just as soon leave her be and destroy her in the general election. But have no fear, the state Democratic Party will do that with or without our help.

Yes, it was really clever of her to mention her puffy face, Commenter Douche Bag.

I hope some “Democrat strategist” recommends that she use the music from Twilight Zone at all of her public appearances.

While old “puffy face” is indeed an actress and liberal activist as you state you neglect to mention the Masters Degree from Harvard and the BA from University of Kentucky. Convenient.
