As Predicted: Now That Obama Is Losing, Democrats Play the Mormon Card

Am I shocked? Not really, although the details are so despicably evil that President Obama himself should be required to denounce it:

Just a week ago, I reported a call from an Obama supporter received by a Catholic in Pennsylvania. The caller, identifying herself as Catholic, insisted Obama was not pro-abortion and Planned Parenthood did not encourage abortions.
Joy Allen, co-chair of the pro-life committee of her parish, Saints John and Paul in Franklin Park, PA, received another call [Oct. 2]. The first Obama caller had asked for her daughter; the second asked for her son — both are registered Republicans. The call came from 215-796-4259 at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

This is a scripted attack, which seems to be a “push poll” specifically targeted at Catholics registered as Republican, with the purpose of suppressing the pro-life vote for Mitt Romney. Exactly how widespread it is or who is funding and directing it, we don’t know. Gateway Pundit reported on it last week and pointed out that Obama is the most pro-abortion president in American history. One woman who reported the calls was interviewed on Fox News:

“This is Chicago thugocracy on display. Demoncrats have no morals. Their hero Saul Alinsky taught that the ends justifies the means.”

Indeed, and — remembering that Alinsky dedicated his book Rules for Radicals to Lucifier — these tactics are quite literally Satanic.

    In fact it doesn’t. If you happen to believe that Jesus is the brother of Satan, that is a fundamentally different Jesus than the Christ of the Bible. Sorry if that harshes the mellow, but facts are what they are. Now is a hell of a time to start retreating from the truth.

    I’m a Catholic, and I’ll take Romney’s religion over O’s any day. I’m still not over Notre Dame inviting O to speak at their commencement in 2008. What hypocrisy. Someone who believes in infanticide speaking at their commencement. Many students who paid big bucks to go to that school didn’t even attend their own commencement because of an administration that placed more importance on status rather than principle.

    When asked why the Evangelicals were not supporting Romney, I can’t think of the Pastor’s name, but he explained that the sticking point between the Evangelicals and the Mormons was that the Mormons do not believe in the Trinity. So, I don’t believe you.

    Rosalie, you are incorrect. Mormons are Christians who believe in God, the
    Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. We happen to be Catholic but have many friends who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are the most devoted, faithful, decent, honest, compassionate people of great integrity that we know. Mitt Romney will be a wonderful president and we are so very proud to support him. He’s a brilliant, exceptional, accomplished, experienced leader, we need to join together to get him elected.

    Thank you for correcting on that. It really doesn’t matter to me either way. To me, it’s more important how a person treats others than what religion they are. I remember imviting two young Mormons into my home once. They were very nice young men who were easy to talk with.

    This was first reported last week, and one woman who had answered said the caller asked for her daughter who lived at home & was registered to vote, so they are apparently targeting the younger Catholic Republicans.

    The same woman said she talked with the woman on the phone for a few minutes, and she tried to convince her the Pope’s statements about abortion/life issues and voting “were just his opinion, not Catholic doctrine.” Disgraceful!

    No decent human being with the slightest vestige of character remaining would vote for Obama.

    And what did he say that was inaccurate? I’ve read that stuff in Mormon pubs going way back. The LDS founders, indeed, taught it. The facts are hardly “full of hate.”
    OTOH, that does not disqualify Mittens from being POTUS, IMHO.

    While I can not accept Mormonism as a “brand” of Christianity (faaaaar too many deviations from biblical doctrine), we are not voting for a Pastor, but POTUS.
    While many Mormons are decent folk, we also need to recall that Dingy Harry Reid is also a Mormon. That should not, however, paint the rest of them automatically. The Kennedys were Roman Catholic as is Fancy Nancy Pelosi, and most Roman Catholics are decent folk as well. There are scummy people that claim both labels.

    Agreed, in and out of the military.

    And I work with many Mormons in my job (not co-workers, but personal and professional networks), and I’d rather trust them. They are among the first to help when help is needed.

    All of the things you say are true. But what they believe about Jesus is doctrinally important. LDS teaches that he is a created being AND they do in fact believe him to be the brother of Satan. That’s not the Christ of the Bible. They also believe that they can become equal to Jesus if they do enough good. Instead of attacking me, do the research. Ask your friends. Ask your priest. I’m not arguing that LDS folks aren’t morally upright decent folks, they tend to be just that. But they also happen to believe absolutley heretical lies about my Lord and savior. Knowing that doesn’t make me a hater. It places me square in the center of Protestant and Catholic doctrine.

    Frank B.: We have freedom of religion in this country, that’s what makes our
    country great. We respect others and their religions, the most important
    thing is how you live your life. There are some things different from our Catholic faith from other religions. It doesn’t make it right or wrong, it’s how you live your life that matters. We are all children of our Heavenly Father. Satan chose not to follow God’s plan. He is working against it here on earth. Bottom line is, God wants us to love our fellow man, be Christianlike in how we treat others and care about others. You just called us a name in your response above. You could learn a lot whether from the Mormon faith, the Catholic faith or any other peaceful faith in how to treat other people. You should be half the man that Mitt Romney is. Maybe you can take a hard look at yourself and see how you can be a kinder person and more accepting of others. The world would be a better place if we could all get along. It begins with yourself.
