The Most Biased Question, Ever
Posted on | September 26, 2012 | 21 Comments
DAYTON, Ohio
Jim Acosta of CNN got an exclusive one-on-one interview with Mitt Romney yesterday in order that he could ask Mitt this ridiculous question:
“African-Americans have a tremendous sense of pride that there is the first African-American president in the White House. If you were to somehow beat the first African-American president, what would you say to the black community to assure them that you would be their president also?”
Noel Sheppard of Newsbusters says Acosta “should be ashamed of himself,” but what shocks me is that, instead of punching Acosta in the face, Romney politely answered the question:
“I want to be the president of all the people of America. I want to help all the people of America. You don’t get into a race like this with myself and my family and do the kind of work and commitment that we’ve put forward without the passion to help all of America. And the people who really need the help right now are the people in the middle class, people who have fallen into poverty. I know how to get them help. The president doesn’t.”
Show of hands: How many of our readers would like to see Mitt Romney punch out a network reporter on live TV?
Yeah — it’s unanimous. Do it, Mitt.

What he should do (and is more in keeping with his past performance) would be to ask the reporter if he’s okay or if he’s feeling sick or ill at ease and then tell him that he’ll pray for him and the redemption of his sins(treason).

It was a race baiting question. Good thing Mitt was able to skirt on that one.
September 26th, 2012 @ 11:10 am
Romney actually said, “You don’t get into a *race* like this with myself and my family…”??!?
ZOMG RAAAAACIST DOG-WHISTLE!!!!
September 26th, 2012 @ 11:39 am
Actually Mitt was looking for an opportunity to counter the false meme that he is not going to worry about 47% of Americans. So regardless of Acosta’s motives and intent in asking that question, Mitt Romney looked at it as an opportunity.
But here is the issue that Mitt Romney should go after Barack Obama on: Jeff Goldstein, ever the diplomat, offers his quiet advice: If Romney said during the debates that he’d not give another fucking dime to countries whose officials put hits out on American citizens — and challenged Obama to do the same — the stumbling pablum dribbler would shit his multiculti boxer briefs.
September 26th, 2012 @ 11:43 am
I was hoping he responded by saving “that’s a clown question man”, probably hard for Mitt to pull that off though.

September 26th, 2012 @ 12:49 pm
Damn trick questions… yes I would like to see it, and yes I believe that the American people would rally around Mitt if he punched a reporter… just saying…

September 26th, 2012 @ 2:26 pm
This is why I could not be a politician. I would have answered that the question presumed all blacks to be racists and I didn’t hold such a low opinion of them as the reporter.
Let’s face it, Obama has been a curse for everyone but particularly for blacks. If you look at the stats they have fared worse under this president than any in living memory.
September 26th, 2012 @ 2:34 pm
And what the hell did O do for the black people, I wonder? Nada!
September 26th, 2012 @ 3:28 pm
If Mitt punched one of the leftist hacks, he’d be charged with “bullying.”
Better he should bring Gingrich into his debate prep. Newt has a finely tuned ear for the opportunity to lambast media bias when it can be made obvious to the audience. That would help in the first debate – at least one time, get on the panel or moderator for their bias, either in the current questions or in a recent report. The way this campaign has gone, it should be easy enough to spot an early opportunity to set the media back on their heels.
September 26th, 2012 @ 4:51 pm
Less than that, arguably. You could make a good case for Obama having hurt blacks worse than anyone since Woodrow Wilson’s purge of the Tuskegee Machine.
September 26th, 2012 @ 5:36 pm
This Herman Cain’s fault.
September 26th, 2012 @ 9:15 pm
[…] PEOPLE! People fed up with the worst president in America’s history. People fed up with Obama’s war on the economy, and his bumbling foreign policy, and runaway spending, and so on. And yes, people fed up with biased reporting […]
September 27th, 2012 @ 1:28 pm
Okay, I just found out today what he did for them. No wonder they love him. He bought them a phone.
September 28th, 2012 @ 9:23 am
“If CNN were to somehow beat BET in the ratings, what would you say to the black community to assure them that you would be their network also?”
Tu quoque sometimes is precisely what’s needed.
