Engadget reports on a provision just discovered buried in a paragraph in the ObamaCare legislation, right at the end of the Federal takeover of education, but before the part where they take over the industry that designs synthetic hairballs for ceramic kittens:

Yes, your government, in the name of teaching children how to spell, is going to buy iPhones and iPads for children, so that the kids can learn them some spellin’ without so much much tree fellin’.

The children of Oregonian loggers negatively impacted by the decrease in demand for wood products will at least be smarter, if poorer, as a result of this stimulus.

Asked about these negative effects, distracted Rep. Waxman replied “We just write these laws. We leave it to trained, captive and compliant economists to figure out what they do.”

(In case the Steven Wright line about kittens was insufficient clue, this post is a jest.)

    You should know that something this absurd and ridiculous could only be conceived by the federal government.

    Be careful with stuff like this least they should pick up on it and try to use this idea for real.
