I may not be the biggest Country fan in the country, but you have to call it like you see it, and this is good:

That song typifies everything I hate about the country music genre. It’s a stupid trucker hat set to music.

Say what you will about country music, but you gotta admit, it’s uniquely American and mostly patriotic, unlike most of that Pop and Rap crap.

Given the way Hitler analogies are thrown around (anyone remember Bushitler?) this was an overreaction by ABC.  So mockery of ABC is definitely in order.  If you are going to burn your bridges, you might as well do it with style.

But, unfortunately, when it comes to musical ability, Hank Williams Jr.’s apple did fall some distance away from the Hank Williams Sr. tree.   Sorry, he is not his dad.   He does have the excuse of falling on his head (he fell off a mountain in the 70s if you remember and almost died).

You don’t like stupid trucker hats, drive to Kansas and buy your own damn wheat.

To paraphrase what someone once said about the press when it mattered: “Never pick a fight with someone who buys Gibson guitars by the dozen…”

I’m no fan of Lady GaGa, either, but I won’t sell more records than her or Hank real soon.

I guess I find more art in stuff like Marty Robbins. Here, Hank is borrowing heavily from rock, which borrowed from the blues, of course.

I’ve heard the beard is to cover what they did to put a nicer face on matters.

Richard, the definitive quote is “Never honk off the bard, for you are funny and your name scans to Greensleeves.”

nb: Greensleeves (“What Child Is This”) is the tune used for more songs than any other in the English language.

Oh, yes, the famous ‘honking’ scene from “Taming of the Shrew”, shame on me for forgetting… (I did like the Benny Hill version better than the Branagh…)

This might be a good thing for him.  He’ll probably sell even more records.

Why the hell would I ever buy wheat?

Hank was always as much of a rocker as he was a country artist.

If you’re smart, you never, ever, ever piss off a man who has such a huge ego he almost always mentions his own name in every song he records.

Heh heh!! I like this song.  Hank Williams Jr.  went on Fox and Friends to promote his new CD  but, they always have to lead quests down the road of politics.  I’ll admit it was a dumb analogy yet how it ended up so twisted is unbelievable.  No one EVER calls out the Democrats for their stupid comments.   In fact the media always praises such comments as the beauty of free speech.  The hypocrisy is glaring, and  I’m tired of the LSM old double standard.

He comes by it honestly – Hank Sr. put out some rockin’ tunes for his time, long before Little Richard, Carl Perkins, Elvis, or even Bill Haley.

    “Honky-Tonkin'”
    “Settin’ the Woods on Fire”
    & etc.

    More power to him.

The “Fox & Friends” formula is basically “Today” on a different set.  Three co-hosts, with an emphasis on looks over brains.  Actually, it seems brains may not have been on the list of qualifications at all.

Chuck, How could you not like songs with titles like All My Exes Live in Texas  or She Got the Goldmine and I Got the Shaft or Hey, Good Lookin’, What Ya Got Cookin’?
