Obama’s ‘Amateur Hour’

Ron Christie’s column in The Hill:

President Barack Obama is being ill served by those by those closest around him: Mr. Cool must lose his cool and fire those staff members who have failed their president and failed their nation. . . .

Read the whole thing. I think the problem is not so much that Obama’s staffers are all amateurs, but rather that their experience — especially the experience of Rahm Emanuel and other Clinton administration veterans of the “permanent campaign” — is the wrong kind of experience.  The belief that Republicans are worse enemies than al-Qaeda is one of those ideas that have consequences.

    Glenn Beck (yes I know mad man and wingnut) suggested today on the radio that unnamed White House sources stated that assistant to the President, Desiree Rogers, was having conflicts with Rahm Emanuel in how the West Wing should be run–and it became clear if push came to shove Ms. Rogers would win that fight.

    Ms. Rogers, a long time friend of the Obamas, is also of the Chicago Machine that made him (sure Rahm and Axelrod are part of that machine too, but apparently just not as high a part as Ms. Rogers). God knows what dirt they have on the Obamas to keep them in line.

    Maybe the problem is not the “wrong type” of experience of Obama’s staff, but rather the weak work and political experience of Obama himself.

    Ron Christie is Cheney’s butt puppy. Like Liz Cheney, Ron is theson Dick never had.When the dark lord speaks,poor Ron has to go out there and defend the dribble Cheney spits every time his artificial heart reboots.
    It is astounding how, in light of historical fact, the Cheney cabal can summon the courage to embarrass themselves in front of a whole nation.In their sad and desperate attempt to re-write their own history and to remain relevant, they are willing to selectively forget their past even if it means exposing themselves as the hypocritical scum that we all thought they were and we now know they are.
    I hope Cheney sticks around til 2012.
    You’re going to wish somebody pulls the plug on him…
