Brandeis and Suicidal Liberalism

Brandeis University has withdrawn an honorary degree for the courageous truth-teller Ayaan Hirsi Ali, because gutless lying liberals hate truth and courage. Bill Kristol is disgusted:

Brandeis University has in recent years bestowed an honorary degree on Tony Kushner, who called the creation of Israel as a Jewish state “a mistake” and who attacked Israel for ethnic cleansing and for causing “terrible peril in the world.” Brandeis has also honored Desmond Tutu, who compared Israel to Hitler, attacked the “Jewish lobby” as too “powerful” and “scary,” and complained of the “Jewish monopoly of the Holocaust.” . . .
Brandeis president Fred Lawrence came under “pressure” — i.e., received complaints from some students and whining from some faculty — and promptly caved. He has disinvited Ayaan Hirsi Ali from receiving an honorary doctorate this year.
His justification for caving was pathetic. Lawrence announced that “we cannot overlook certain of her past statements that are inconsistent with Brandeis University’s core values. For all concerned, we regret that we were not aware of these statements earlier.” Needless to say, he doesn’t specify any of these statements. And he doesn’t explain how Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s life and thought — but not Tony Kushner’s or Desmond Tutu’s — has been in any way “inconsistent with Brandeis University’s core values.”

    But if Ayaan Hirsi Ali had been a zealous anti-Israeli, anti-Zionist activist, she’d be getting two honorary degrees, magna cum laude.

    One would think that her primary interests, preventing female genital mutilation, atheism, and separation of religious and civil laws, would be supported by the learned professors and eager students at Brandeis, but she did something truly radical: she noted that these things do not exist in a vacuum, but are tied to Islam. That was a sin too great.

    My email to Brandeis:

    Pitiful, just pitiful.

    It seems to matter not to you that her comments are justified that she’s a
    victim of ISLAM as we all may soon be if those in places of power continue
    to underestimate the hatred and violence in the heart of ISLAM towards all
    those considered infidels in the countries they look to as being their
    ulitimate enemy.

    They won’t be withholding honorary degrees, they’ll be cutting heads off.

    And you fools have rewarded their belligerent and savage behavior by
    rescinding a decision because of FEAR of their anger.

    You are pitiful and should be ashamed of yourselves.

    Academe in the US has become a vile pit of anti-Semitic and anti-Christian
    bigotry that will not save you from the violence ISLAM daily expresses
    towards the West.

    You are cowards and are not worthy of awarding anything to Ms. Ali.

    Note the one thing missing from Brandeis president Fred Lawrence’s statement: Any reference to whether Ali is telling the Truth. That tells us everything we need to know about the state of Academe in this country, as well as the mindset of the Progressive Left generally.

The irony of Brandeis supporting those who advocate holocaust demonstrates the victory of of the children of Ishmael over the straying sons of Isaac.     have you ever noticed that when anyone makes a point about FGM, honor killings and other truly atrocious things done by Muslims, the first argument offered is that those things are “cultural” and Not Islamic…but whenever a country tries to pass legislation that would ban/forbid those same things, muslims and muslim groups come out of the woodwork declaring such measures as religiously discriminatory and anti-Islam??
