Muslim Murdered in Houston, and Guess Why Media Are Ignoring This Crime?

Rahman Rupani, 30, was one of seven siblings in a Pakistani family that operated DJ’s Food Mart, a convenience store in Houston, Texas. A father of two children, a 2-year-old and 6 months old, Rupani regularly attended a Houston mosque. On a Friday night in January, however, an argument in the parking lot of DJ’s Food Mart suddenly escalated into violence. A man was shot, and when Rupani came to the aid of the wounded man, he was shot and killed:

“As he was going outside he saw the injured guy, so he took his phone out to call an ambulance so somebody could come and get him to make sure he was fine,” Rupani’s sister Muniza Kabani said. . . .
“He died a hero, protecting people he has no duty to protect,” Rupani’s younger brother Karim Rupani said.

This wasn’t a “hate crime,” but you might think the national media would be interested in the story of a Muslim man who “died a hero.” What a remarkable human-interest story — a Pakistani-American family operating a small business in Texas! Yet CNN and the major networks are ignoring the murder of Rahman Rupani for some reason:

The man wanted for murdering a father who came to the aid of a shooting victim is a “Dreamer” with violent felons for a father and brother.
Judas Deluna, 21, is on the run, and accused of killing a father and husband as he just tried to help. De Luna is charged with felony murder in the shooting death of Rahman Rupani, 30. . . .
Eyewitness News has learned Deluna is in the United States under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. He is undocumented, a so-called Dreamer. . . .
Nearing deportation, again, is where Deluna’s father, Manuel Deluna, is. He is on “hold’ status with Immigration and Customs Enforcement since his release from prison last October.
According to Robert Hurst with Texas Department of Criminal Justice, he served four months of a two-year sentence stemming from a SWAT standoff in November 2016. He barricaded himself after assaulting his wife and daughter.
Five years earlier, Manuel Deluna’s other son, Eric Deluna, planned an ambush on an 18-wheeler full of drugs. It was part of a notorious federal sting that went bad aimed at the Los Zetas cartel. A federal informant died in a shootout that also left a Harris county sheriff’s deputy wounded.
Eric Deluna is serving a 30-year sentence.

Rupani was murdered by Judas Deluna, a DACA beneficiary whose father is a violent felon, and whose brother is serving 30 years in prison. But wait — there’s even more to this outrageous story:

Deluna may have obtained the DACA protection despite a prior history of felony arrests and convictions.
Court records obtained by Breitbart Texas from Harris County District Clerk Chris Daniel’s office show that Deluna received a felony conviction for a terroristic threat made in 2015. The judge of the 176th Criminal District Court sentenced the man to 60 days in county jail. He had also been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. That charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Earlier that year, prosecutors charged Deluna with a felony charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle. The same judge placed the man on four years of probation and deferred adjudication. Following the new murder charge, prosecutors filed a motion to adjudicate this charge.

As a journalist, wouldn’t this be a fascinating story to report? It highlights two important national issues — crime and immigration — and at the center of the story is the heroic Muslim, Rahman Rupani, slain while going to the aid of a gunshot victim. Yet because the major media are committed to defending Obama’s DACA policy from critical scrutiny, you’re never going to see this story on CNN or NBC or CBS or ABC.
