MIKE PENCE IS TRUMP’S VP PICK

Posted on | July 14, 2016 | 21 Comments

CBS News is among the outlets reporting that Donald Trump has picked Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his vice-presidential running mate, just five days before the Republican National Convention begins in Cleveland.

Via Memeorandum, more reports from WXIN-TV, Reuters, The Hill, The New York Times, Roll Call, The American Spectator and Hot Air. Meanwhile, William Jacobson is asking his readers at Legal Insurrection to respond to a poll: Is Pence as VP a good or bad idea?

I’ve always liked Mike Pence, personally. I remember talking to him briefly backstage at the big September 2009 Tea Party rally at the Capitol. Some of his staffers when he was in Congress were friends of mine, and Pence is a solid conservative who, however, is a bit “soft” on immigration to my taste, but of course, everybody’s too soft on immigration to my taste. It could be argued that, in choosing Pence as his running mate, Trump got someone who could help him ease the fears of the Chamber of Commerce crowd and big money donors to the RNC. Also, if you’ve ever seen Pence in TV interviews, you know he comes across as a smart guy who can talk policy, so that he will be an asset to the Trump campaign in that capacity. Meanwhile, the Left is going berserk.

Mike Pence Has Led a Crusade Against
Abortion Access and LGBT Rights

This would have been the spin on almost any Republican picked as Trump’s running mate: “Evil right-wing sexist racist homophobe!”

But what if the voters are in a mood to give hate a chance?

Doesn’t matter who he picked, the Left hates Republicans. McCain and Romney were savaged by the media and two more Leftist Republicans couldn’t be found (Romney was Governor of Massachusetts for cryin’ out loud). Republicans did everything they could the last two cycles to draft lefty candidates for President as if there are crossover Democrats. There are NO crossovers to Republicans. None. The notion is a myth and a lie. Instead of trying to win crossovers with a Liberal candidate, the Republicans would do better to go as conservative as possible so as to lose fewer of their own base to disgust.

“Abortion Access and LGBT Rights” That’s a fancy way of saying “Legalized Infanticide and Homosexual Hijacking of Marriage.”

Prince is dead, long live the Pence?

The Federalist does’t like him because he’s too “Statist”.

Criminey, are we letting the perfect be the enemy of the good?

We’ve nominated Trump, for crying out loud. Why should we have any other scruples?

This would be a good time to point out that I’m the guy who in 2007 started a blog based on the idea that my distant cousin was certain to lead the GOP to defeat — and I was RIGHT!

Where were all these “Never Trump” people in 2008? Where was the “Never McCain” vote?

Oh, that’s right: IT WAS ME!

What we are dealing with now is a gang of smug “pundit” types, every one of whom has been WRONG WRONG WRONG and WRONG AGAIN, year after year after year, and yet, somehow, they continue to think that their perfect track record of DEFEAT qualifies them to tell the rest of us who to vote for? Fuck them.

If Trump chooses Newt or Christie I will almost certainly be voting 3rd party. Pence is the only choice that might make me vote for Trump this year.

I didn’t vote for McCain in 2008. In 2003 I decided I would NEVER vote for McCain and I didn’t.

Pence is a sell-out loser. He supports corporate H-1B visas, because, according to CEOs, “There are more technical jobs than can be filled”. What they leave off that sentence is “filled at minimum wage”.

So here I am, a citizen, 30+ years heavy technical experience, multiple degrees, and I haven’t been able to find a job in SEVEN, ALMOST EIGHT MONTHS, even minimum wage. Next, I lose my house and my car, and my everything else, and my family has to split up so we can go to shelters. After that, maybe I can get some kinda HUD voucher so I can live in the hood on food stamps and welfare, but probably not, because I’m white privileged, as we see.

Put (formerly) taxpaying citizens out of work, hire foreigners who spend their USD outside the US, cause, you know, that’s good for the country. Yeah, H-1B is a GREAT idea.

Well, I think we should bring in some H-1B governors, starting with Indiana. F**k Mike Pence, that a$$hat.

I have no idea who this guy is, but I don’t really care as long as he can be a credible advocate for Trump and his goals.

I haven’t trusted John McCain since the Keating Five scandal and I have actively worked against him since the late 90s.

I still have this crazy idea that if the office of President is constitutionally limited to two terms, so should the office of U.S. Senator.

I also don’t think Senators should be popularly elected.

Fortunately, it looks like Senator McCain will lose this round.

I’d feel a lot better about Pence if he had not screwed up so badly in Indiana that he reelection was in serious doubt. He strikes me as the kind of person who was at home in the House of Representatives where talk is cheap and who floundered in the role of governor where one is expected to produce results,

Since Trump is nothing except cheap talk, this choice does not sway my resolve not to vote in this years presidential race. As the chief election judge in my precinct, I will be voting for every down ballot Republican who is not a Trump enabler.

Well, he isn’t a credible anything, so I have doubts. Plus, where did THAT choice come from anyway? You’d think he could’ve maybe thrown the Cruz Crew a bone, what with Ted being the least likely of the potential choices to assassinate Trump and take over if he gets elected, lol.

Except me. I need a job, and I’d be a good VP choice. Right, Daniel? Right? … [crickets] … Daniel?

I’ve always like Mike Pence, enough so that I think he should have run in 2012. I’m happy he’ll be Trump’s veep if they are elected.

I think people are going to come away from the convention thinking, “Why can’t Pence be the Presidential nominee?”

To the assclowns who called Romney a leftist, there is no one worthy of their worthless vote. These people worship themselves and nothing else.
