The #FreeStacy Protest Continues

Posted on | February 23, 2016 | 39 Comments

Friends, I am profoundly grateful for all the support my friends have shown in the past few days. Go down the #FreeStacy hashtag on Twitter and RT as much as you can. Here’s the Lonely Conservative:

Stacy McCain is still in the Twitter gulag for speaking out against feminist tyrants who don’t like debate. Twitter even banned his secondary account. He’s been told that his account will not be restored. So much for Twitter’s commitment to “freedom of expression.” They say he violated their rules about “participating in targeted abuse.” I don’t see them shutting down the accounts of people who give me crap on Twitter, but I usually just block those people so they don’t bother me anymore.
Anyway, even though he’s shut out of Twitter, Stacy certainly hasn’t been silenced. Heck, he’s just getting going. Be sure to follow the links and read the posts.
I’m sure there are a few people who think “So what if Twitter shuts downs accounts. They can do what they want as a private company.” That’s true. But the problem isn’t limited to Mr. McCain and Twitter. . . .

Please go hit her tip jar. As a conservative in upstate New York, she has endured horrendous harassment over the years, but you don’t see her trying to shut down people’s accounts. The proximate cause of the current problem at Twitter is Anita Sarkeesian (@FemFreq), so if you’re on Twitter, make sure Ms. Sarkeesian knows you hold her accountable for the implementation of these totalitarian policies. Some people are deleting their accounts, but my guess is that if you tell Ms. Sarkeesian what you think of her — and don’t forget to include the #FreeStacy hashtag — Twitter will be happy to ban you, too.

More than the Sarkeesian issue, publicly discrediting rape culture really inflames feminists. So much is riding on using rape to get public support for the application of feminist theories throughout society. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CJLzxm_W8AAC07h.png

While it’s good you’re getting press and drawing attention to the Twitter hypocrisy, I note even some of your conservative defenders feel compelled to disparage your work before they get to the “free speech is cool” cheese. I don’t get it. This idea that there is some sort of mandatory civility required in the fact of all the nastiness spewed from the Left is self-defeating. I don’t recall any of these people attacking the substance of your work, so what’s the beef? A tone which is not conciliatory enough? Give me a break. It’s as if, all these people are holding out for invitations to the right inside-the-beltway parties, so they have to make the obligatory negative comment about you before defending you. Virtue-signal much, do they?

By the way, I think quitting Twitter is not the best approach to fight censorship. Keep your account open, keep using their services but block their ads they serve you (report every ad as “Not Relevant”). Also, go into your profile settings and under the “Security and privacy” option unselect “Personalization” and “Promoted content”.

If my speech isn’t welcome on their network then they will not make money out of my account.

    Maybe… It wasn’t Anita Sarkeesian

Twitter and all the major social media platforms have massive data bases, the best programmers and huge R and D budgets that are creating artificial intelligence programs.

Maybe your were banned by an AI bot

Are these programs creating a modern day Hays Code?

It’s what I call the “Yes, But” Syndrome, a method of backstabbing. A group of co-workers will be sitting around shooting the bull and someone will mention what a swell guy Joe is. And then Sam, who has some secret grudge against Joe, will say, “Yes, but …” before making some derogatory remark about Joe. Sam simply cannot stand to hear unreserved praise for Joe so that, even when Joe has done something clearly praiseworthy, Sam must add his two cents of negativity, lest anyone think too highly of Joe.

D.C. is full of political backstabbers like that, who will smile to your face but then, as soon as you leave the room, will mock or slander you.

There’s no point worrying about this, really. Haters gonna hate.

If people can’t handle being mocked for stupidity, they shouldn’t say stupid things. The stuff that Stacy comments on is not just a little bit stupid, or the result of an honest mistake; it’s egregious stupidity, explicable only via gross mental illness, willful moronity, or deliberate and calculated corruption.

But then, to have someone agree with the truth, but try to backpedal on it, or soften it for some reason, that’s the act of a complete wuss, in my opinion. It’s like trying to polish poo, and why would anybody want to do that? Indeed, everything that is not an honest mistake needs to be called-out, and harshly, lest some irrational knucklehead read it and believe it.

  7. DeadMessenger
    February 24th, 2016 @ 3:44 am

Perhaps. But let’s suppose that I, DeadMessenger, awesome techie goddess and whizbang manager of people and things, were given the position that Sarkeesian has.

The first thing I would do is investigate the bot situation, and bring my results to the attention of upper management, suggesting a softer, more diverse and tolerant approach, lest the company experience any of the gruesome revenue-reducing scenarios that I would document and wrap numbers around.

At least one of the members of upper management would either have an axe to grind with @jack, or be looking to oust and replace him. Those individuals would take my presentation to the board, and/or leak my projections to the media.

Then I would begin to systematically implement new processes intended ultimately to strengthen the company’s cash-flow situation and improve the customer experience, leading to greater shareholder value.

I would NOT slit my own throat by singularly brandishing my blunt little hatchet upside the heads of my detractors.

In this event then, the Sarkeesian-figure still has responsibility for the outcome. And if she thinks that she won’t be thrown under the bus, she is sadly, sadly mistaken. If she thinks that at the end of the day, feminism trumps money, she’s seriously insane.

    YouTube removes anti-euthanasia leader’s video
    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/youtube-boots-anti-euthanasia-leader-for-publishing-audio-file

LONDON, Ontario, February 23, 2016 (LifeSiteNews)
    – Alex Schadenberg, the indefatigable advocate for the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable against euthanasia and assisted suicide, has been bumped from YouTube for allegedly violating the home video platform’s community standards.

Schadenberg, the executive director and international voice of the London, Ontario-based Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, was interviewed by Vickie Travis, the host of her self-named internet radio show on the web-only TropicWave Radio station. It was put up on YouTube on Sunday and taken down within two hours. “The YouTube community” had determined that it was offensive, the station was told.

Travis, herself an anti-euthanasia crusader since her father was killed by a doctor in 2000, told LifeSiteNews, “Alex was pretty polite. His segment was extremely tame compared to some people I’ve had on.”

YouTube’s provider, Google, responded to LifeSiteNews’s request for an explanation with automated skepticism: “Thank you for contacting Google’s press office. This email address is used exclusively for corresponding with press. If you are not a member of the press, you should not expect to receive a response from the Google press team
    beyond this email.”

It’s pretty clear there is only one single source for IntLesFem and it is women’s and gender studies culture across America. They are echo chambers of delusion, insanity and hate speech. Any straight white male college curriculum which used a version of their speech would be shut down by Title IX immediately. Any version of their speech in the public arena would be shut down, and it is. But so-called “feminists” skate clean away by attaching their racist cult of lesbian theory to Jim Crow and women’s suffrage. In other words they are serial liars. This is what happens when concepts like a “protected class” overwhelm equal protection. Things fall apart.

Of course the problem for IntLesFem is they have never done anything in civilizational terms; no great canals, castles or armies. When equal protection falls apart, they will be the first to suffer, and all their delusional theories won’t save them.

I don’t care for robert much anymore and I find the people he hangs around as crass.

I merely just ignore him because of that, but it is a strange thing what twitter did to him. Therefore, here I am.

I am in no way obligated to like him, but I don’t dislike him. If I think he acts boyish and he doesn’t appeal to me, it would be far more honest for me to preface my statements with that than pretend I approve. That said, robert himself is fine by me, it’s the company he makes that makes me ignore him.

I am not robert, therefore I have no interest or desire in appeasing his fanbase.

Robert Stacy McCain is a conservative journalist who writes at his own site The Other McCain. He’s not a blogger, he worked his way up through print jounalism. The man knows his craft and has paid his dues.

I’m a semi-regular commenter at his site. We do not agree on everything obviously. But like most principled conservatives, Mr. McCain will tell you up front and to your face if he doesn’t agree with you. He doesn’t butter you up to take advantage of you later.

There are times I’m sure he wishes I didn’t comment on his site. Certainly a handful of his other commenters would like me banned. They make no secret of that.

But here’s the thing. They make no secret of their opinion. If they think I am wrong, they tell me and they tell me why.
    Twitterfied

If you’re wondering why a pagan libertarian hangs out on a conservative board, there’s your answer. You guys (and RSM in particular) are willing to talk. We even agree on many things.

I may disagree with you, but I want you to say what you think. Competition keeps us honest.

That’s an important point. Social justice crusaders create their own reality. They ban and delete me and then also criticize me for leaving comments mostly at certain sites.

The truth is I leave comments where I CAN leave comments. I have been banned, deleted and even pre-banned at many sites, sometimes for nothing more than Dept. of Justice stats.

It’s not a question of “like” or “dislike.” It’s a question of engaging arguments and facts. Your use of the word “crass” is quite telling, and perhaps reflects the point I make in my comment. For some on the right, McCain is not the “right sort” of people. Query whether he’d be viewed differently if his degree came from Yale instead of Jacksonville State.

Sarkeesian isn’t a Deng Xiaoping or a Stalin, but an Hitler. She isn’t capable of controlling herself and keep her temper, I intend.

This kind of people usually end bad (and that’s why, while being no worse than Xiaoping or Stalian at all, Hitler ended bad), and Sarkeesian would surely end bad, if she weren an isolate figure, instead of what she is — the tip of an iceberg. The rest of the iceberg will keep shielding her, naturally.

    Oh good, a guest account.

Yes, it is about like and dislike. I don’t care for him therefore I ignore him. Maybe I should have continued to do so instead of making an exception this one time.

I have no obligation to like robert. By ridiculously insisting that liking him is a matter of “facts” (with the implication that if you like “facts” that you are required to like him, which is about as subtle as a monster truck),you are accusing me of what you yourself are doing (and far worse) in the same sentence.

That’s either weapons-grade irony or plain stupidity trying to masquerade as intelligence.

You say I don’t like him for not being in the right “clique.” It’s not me who is dealing in cliques here, it’s the stacy gang.

As I said in the message you replied to, it is the friends of robert that annoy me. Crass is the perfect word for how you are acting.

  21. RS
    February 24th, 2016 @ 5:44 pm

I did not suggest you or anyone else is obligated to like him. I suggested that it is relevant whether personal dislike is based upon the substance of an argument versus the style in which in which the argument is made, or whether the argument should be made at all or whether McCain should be the one making it.

The reason it’s relevant is that there are those on the right who wish to keep their little club of punditry to a select few and go out of their way to destroy those whom they deem unworthy, regardless of whether those who are disfavored are writing truth. Jeff Goldstein and Protein Wisdom come immediately to mind.

I could care less whether you like or dislike these pages. If you dislike them, by all means, don’t read them. I do care whether those expressing opinions on public forums are doing so because they think the facts recited by McCain are wrong or whether they wish to undermine competition for readers.

    C. “Yes, but… his tone is too moderate. He’s too concerned with not being called waaaaacist, and he banned me.”

    A. “Sure, but nobody’s perfect. Maybe he’ll grow out of it. And he literally invented the five A’s in raaaaacism.”

    B. “Yeah, cut him some slack, man. You can criticize his mild tone when you’ve done half what he has for conservatism.”

Once more you accuse me of being “cliquish” then go on saying that I am from a rival clique and must be culled from these halls.

Apparently you have trouble understanding people’s emotions and feelings, but whether I like someone is the sole reason anyone reads anyone.

You have convinced yourself you are here for “facts” and “arguments” because your stunted feelings cannot grasp emotions. You seek to make yourself appear like a computer, but you really seem like a fickle wreck (oddly enough, like a computer as well). You aren’t here for that, you can get “facts” and “arguments” on the backs of cereal boxes, you are here because you like him and want to be in the stacy gang.

I personally can’t stand the company he keeps nor how one-note he is. He is a former womanizer who is finally seeing the fruits of the actions of his youth. It was people like him who allowed feminism to grow because he liked how easy they were.

My sympathy is nonexistent for the dredges he wades through for information as they are merely the fields he planted in the past, but I find him getting banned from twitter silly.

I can get the things robert says from anywhere, but I don’t want it from here and I have mentioned why 3 times already.
