Planned Parenthood: A Taxpayer-Funded Democrat Party Campaign Organization

Posted on | November 19, 2015 | 77 Comments

This subverts the legitimacy of government:

Planned Parenthood is planning to spend at least $20 million fighting Republicans at the ballot box next year as the group punches back against GOP efforts to end its federal funding.
“Extremists made the 2016 election about attacking reproductive rights,” Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, who was grilled extensively on Capitol Hill in September, said in a video announcing the effort Tuesday.
The group is planning to focus on the White House and Senate races in a few key states, including New Hampshire, Ohio, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The states not only have potentially competitive Senate races, but are also key swing states on the presidential map.
The $20 million will be spent on a mix of volunteer and activist organizing in each state and advertising.
“Enough is enough,” Richards said in the video. “With our supporters, we’re launching ‘I Vote Planned Parenthood Action.’ We’ll organize and mobilize to elect lawmakers who are in our corner.”

Can anyone explain the logic of forcing taxpayers to fund an organization that in turns spends money to elect Democrats?

Besides which, Planned Parenthood kills babies. Cecile Richards speaks of “extremists,” but she is the totalitarian fanatic who wants to use government power to silence dissent and punish her critics.

How is it that women were not “breeder slaves” prior to Roe v. Wade? But now, suddenly, this is a concern? Rather, if anything, creeping sharia would turn women into breeder slaves. That’s where you ought to be pointing your rhetorical guns.

I think it’s a bigger problem that many people – including, apparently, you – see abortion as a viable form of birth control. In fact, it’s quite dangerous. A non-trivial number of deaths and permanent serious injuries happen, directly related to abortions. It is by no means safe, but the media likes to hide that little detail, because narrative.

I’ve already said that I know that I can’t do anything about the legality of abortion. Though I would if I could, for the reason I state above. I think everyone can agree that the safest form of birth control is abstinence, but good luck imposing that on an immoral society.

However, I do not want to pay for abortions. I do not want to pay for abortion clinics to be open, regardless of what other alleged services they offer. I do not want to pay to provide lifetime medical treatments for a woman who foolishly gets an abortion and it goes bad. And, for that matter, I don’t even want to pay for people’s birth control. My position is, if you can’t control your lust, it’s on you, and you alone, baby. Fund your sex life, and the results of it yourself.

This is like me having to pay for cigarettes, alcohol, crack or birthday cake for people who are addicted to these things. A smoker has to fund his own habit, why can’t a slut do the same?

Good for you. And I assign no validity to what you say, mostly because of the sleazy way you say it, so I guess we’re even.

I’m not a fan of big lobbying or big money in politics either but there’s a few areas that should be understood.

Most any and every big recipient of government funding will support the candidate they feel will benefit them. PP cannot simply take government money and invest in a candidate. These fundings are from PACs.

When you consider farmers and contractors taking in huge subsidies, PP doesn’t compare. PP doesn’t get block funding as they are simply reimbursed for services rendered. So there is no backing a candidate with tax payer money.

We’re all entitled to opinions, NW. The main thing here is that I not only support your right to have an opposing opinion, but your right to share it. You won’t get that sort of guarantee from MSNBC. 😀

I have seen a few lefties lately go absolutely wiggy over blocking Syrian refugees. It is bizarro.

So Conservatives are forced by law to fund a SuperPAC which seeks to marginalize the political footprint of Conservatives. Nice racket.

You don’t want to argue, you want to lecture those “ignorant” conservatives.

    Fuck that, with a chainsaw.

My young friend, I’m not making an accusation. I’ve made a statement of fact. PP is a very large part of the abortion industry and moving money around is part of their criminal enterprise.

You may not care for anyone calling PP a criminal enterprise, but killing for convenience is simply murder, and that is what PP does. Healthcare is, at best, a camouflage for the murder.

I realize my clarification brings out the ire of some contributors here but no, you are not forced by law to fund a Super PAC or any PAC.

You may or may not participate in a PAC, at you discretion, that is supported or not supported by an establishment that accepts government funding.

You also have an option to support a PAC that would campaign against those seeking to marginalize the political footprint of Conservatives.

    Healthcare is camouflaged as murder?

    Uh, mkay!

  15. Quartermaster
    November 19th, 2015 @ 7:44 pm

The law has always been a representation of a society’s morality. The
Idea that morality should not be imposed by law would mean no law. It is
    a complete antinomian position.

AwD’s criticism of you is spot on. Frankly, I have so little respect for you because you spend a lot of your posting space here whining about people picking on you. What it really boils down to is you want to be able to state your opinion, but you don’t want to be called on your conflicted BS, and you want it accepted as gospel because you say it.

Life doesn’t work that way. You need to either grow up and accept it, or go away, because things aren’t going to change here.

That would be real pro-choice. Therefore, it won’t happen without a real fight. The left is about as anti-choice as you can get.

I didn’t say that, you did. I said they do some healthcare to camouflage the murder. If you’re going to to demonize someone, at least get the quote right. Otherwise, all you are is liar, and we’ve now seen that twice.

PP is conducting its activities like it is a Super PAC. That’s the point. The point you are trying to avoid.

Ah. My point did not reach you, considering your inaccurate summary of my statements. No doubt this is my own failure of communication, but I don’t see the point in trying to correct a second straw man. Go forth in peace, libertarian.

I’m willing to concede that legalized abortion-on-demand is an acceptible logical implication of a pregnant woman’s self-ownership PROVIDED it is conceded that existing paternity laws should be changed to relieve the father (I guess “donor” is more correct) of any financial responsibility for the outcome of the pregnant woman exercising her choice to either abort or carry the child to term. How can the donor have any responsibility for a choice he does not make?

Her body, her choice, her fetus, her problem

such gibberish that “Planned Parenthood kills babies”

    And then…

I have never claimed or insinuated that abortions don’t kill babies.

So… Are you claiming that PP doesn’t perform abortions?

  23. Daniel Freeman

The 97% figure is a deception. They cannot simply spin off their murder-for-hire services into a separate organization, since that’s where their money comes from.

    November 20th, 2015 @ 1:42 am

Ha. You know that’s only “acceptable” because it’s risible and would never happen in a million years. Any connection between their words and their actions is purely accidental, and their only consistency is female chauvinism.

  25. Ronald J. Ward
    November 20th, 2015 @ 10:23 am

Actually, I welcome spirited debate and constructive arguments.

My argument has been that defunding PP has more to do with ridding a democratic advocacy and ending an entitlement rather than addressing or correcting abortions being performed.

The only rebuttals I’ve had are opinions, attacks on my character, and a bigoted mindset that because I disagree, I must be some left liberal Obama/Hillary lover/socialist from hell.

Yet somehow in the rubber/glue world of today’s so-called conservatives, I’m the one obscuring the argument. Go figure!

These are the terms I propose in response to pleas for abortion on demand. This works for me.

Also, substitute any reference to child in my previous post with fetus.
