Obama Policy Defends ‘Boy Play’ in Afghanistan; U.S. Troops Punished

Apparently, this is what “Hope and Change” looks like:
Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.
The policy has endured as American forces have recruited and organized Afghan militias to help hold territory against the Taliban. But soldiers and Marines have been increasingly troubled that instead of weeding out pedophiles, the American military was arming them in some cases and placing them as the commanders of villages — and doing little when they began abusing children.
“The reason we were here is because we heard the terrible things the Taliban were doing to people, how they were taking away human rights,” said Dan Quinn, a former Special Forces captain who beat up an American-backed militia commander for keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave. “But we were putting people into power who would do things that were worse than the Taliban did — that was something village elders voiced to me.”
The policy of instructing soldiers to ignore child sexual abuse by their Afghan allies is coming under new scrutiny, particularly as it emerges that service members like Captain Quinn have faced discipline, even career ruin, for disobeying it.
After the beating, the Army relieved Captain Quinn of his command and pulled him from Afghanistan. He has since left the military.
Four years later, the Army is also trying to forcibly retire Sgt. First Class Charles Martland, a Special Forces member who joined Captain Quinn in beating up the commander.
“The Army contends that Martland and others should have looked the other way (a contention that I believe is nonsense),” Representative Duncan Hunter, a California Republican who hopes to save Sergeant Martland’s career, wrote last week to the Pentagon’s inspector general. . . .
When asked about American military policy, the spokesman for the American command in Afghanistan, Col. Brian Tribus, wrote in an email: “Generally, allegations of child sexual abuse by Afghan military or police personnel would be a matter of domestic Afghan criminal law.” He added that “there would be no express requirement that U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan report it.”
(Hat-tip: Jamie Weinstein on Twitter.) Let’s begin by praising the New York Times for actually reporting this story, a rare exception to their usual see-no-evil approach to the Obama administration’s policy failures. But also notice the rest of the media, while finding time to jump on Ben Carson for criticizing Islam, is not asking Democrats about this horrific policy of arming gay Muslim pedophiles at U.S. taxpayer expense, and punishing American troops who don’t like it.
RAPE CULTURE: If this story involved American college frat boys, instead of Muslim pedophiles, feminists might care. http://t.co/fg5xavBQdX

This is perfectly consistent with the administrations priorities. Gay = good, Muslim = good, Military = Bad. So our military men are beating up gay muslims who are raping young boys? Boys aren’t a protected group, but gays and muslims are, and the military is hated. This is a win-win-win for the administration.

“Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs.” — Quote from a “less civilized” time.

Query when/if any Democrat candidate for president will be asked about this?

Once upon a time, under a Republican administration, there was a scandal known as Abu Ghraib that was supposed (by Democrats) to have gone all the way up to the SecDef.
Now? Crickets.

Excellent timing: there’s a post today, at Salon, that argues for accepting pedophilia–it might be worth juxtaposing this against that:

I don’t see where he’s arguing for accepting pedophilia. He himself admits that he has a massive handicap to overcome.
I’ve counseled people like him, people with unacceptable desires they desperately want to overcome, who are not molesters, who I don’t believe would ever be stalkers or molesters, and I have a lot of compassion for them. And I have seen some overcome their illness with God’s help.
Lifelong status as a sex offender after having broken no laws is not “help”. Jesus said that to look at someone you’re not married to with lust is adultery, which is a sin. So this guy has committed adultery in his heart. And so has the vast majority of heterosexual people I know, including myself. All sinners need help controlling their sin, and they can get that help, from Above. As a Christian goes through sanctification, he can mortify his sin.
The problem with this guy is the same as with most sinners. You have to understand that your larger problem is sin, and deal with it in a godly way. And sinners CAN do that, and be successful.

…who I don’t believe would ever be stalkers or molesters…
Well it’s a good thing there isn’t ample historical precedence for what someone–usually “experts”–“believes” to be true, being in complete opposition to ultimate reality…
Anyway.
You do realize that one of the oldest propaganda tricks in the book is to attach a noxious issue to a seemingly inoffensive individual to help spearhead acceptance of said issue, right?
Let’s take homosexuality, as an example: the entire PR campaign for it completely elided, erased, and obliterated all the negative aspects of the behavior and only promulgated the nice, sanitized, funny, witty, cartoon character version of being ‘gay’–heck, they even wrote a book about it entitled “After the Ball”.
The supporters of pedophilia will do the same thing by proffering tools (literally) like this one as harmless people that merely suffer from something they can’t control (does this sound at all familiar??), paving the way for the camel to get its nose under the tent.
From there, I think we know how this story ends…

This went on during the previous administration, too, with defense contractor Dynecorp. setting up the parties for Afghani elites, and trafficking young girls and boys.

Christ did not qualify the lust thing as you have here. A man who loves his wife does not look upon her with lust in his heart either.

Our military contractors were organizing these parties for their Afghani hosts.

I didn’t mean marital relations. You know that I meant that the lust Jesus condemns is outside the marital union (and since you’re in a niggling sort of mood today, let me clarify “marital union” as between one man and one woman. Of the appropriate legal age. For pity’s sake, QM.)

You must think I’m completely retarded. And a liberal. And I’m a professional only in the sense that I’m an engineer. I do counseling because God calls me to do it.
In the course of this counseling, I have encountered people with homosexual desires who do not act upon them. And people with pedophilic desires who do not act upon them. And people also harboring desires to shoplift, use drugs, perform satanic rituals, eat or drink to excess, and all sorts of things, none of whom have done these things, but for whom unwanted desires exist. People who genuinely want to get rid of the unwanted desires, who hate having the desires, and are looking for a way to defeat them so they can feel, and be, normal (if such a thing exists).
If you yourself would like to say that you have never been angry enough with someone that you would really like to beat the hell out of them, take a hammer to their car, or any other violent thing, I would think that you’re lying, but if you admit to it, then you also have had inappropriate and very likely illegal desires that you have not and would not act upon. And if you DO admit to such a thing, then I would wonder, where is your compassion, fellow sinner?
It seems that you are going straight to a criminal guilt verdict for a thought crime. That’s a slippery slope if I ever heard of one.

From what I understand the original policy was not to tolerate the poppy fields, but that generated so much hatred of us from the populace (being that it’s a large part of their economy) that the policy was quickly abandoned.
September 21st, 2015 @ 8:25 pm
I’m pretty sure that was the case, too, and we were helping to rip up the poppy fields, but the Warlords we needed to ally with are often opium producers, and drug traffickers, and in order to do business with them we had to tolerate their activities even though the drugs are coming into Europe, and the U.S. Karzai’s younger brother is a well known narcotics trafficker and was stopped trying to leave the country with over 50 million in cash. Iran though is in the midst of a heroin epidemic due to all the smack coming through their eastern border. Its not the first time the U.S. government has had to work with drug traffickers in order to further geo political goals, either. Vietnam, and Central America are two other examples.
September 21st, 2015 @ 8:47 pm
Funny how when we enable behavior there that we wouldn’t tolerate here, all in the name of geopolitical goals, it tends to backfire. Why, it’s almost like there’s a philosophical (or even spiritual) principle at work, that you can’t advance American interests by violating American values.
September 21st, 2015 @ 9:07 pm
It’s such foul hypocrisy, too, when we have a DEA, FBI, and local law enforcement that fight a war on drugs in the name of the public good, while at the same time we’re cooperating with, and arming the same people who traffic drugs into the country in order to fulfill a seperate set of policy goals. The drug war has created such misery, and destruction for so many people in this country, and destroyed so many lives. To think we’re busting people for selling the same drugs we allowed to be trafficked in is like staring into the abyss.
September 21st, 2015 @ 10:21 pm
The funny (not in a ha-ha way) thing is this is exactly the sort of behaviour the Taliban were against and use to get support from the population. (they keep their perversions quiet).
Give a person the choice between mad head hackers and the government whos representative just told you your young boys “bottom was like a peach” and the mad Mullahs look reasonable.
You dont excuse criminal and corrupt behaviour as “culture”.

Let me see if I’m clear about this. You are saying – while knowing that God is omnipresent and omniscient, and that no liars will enter the kingdom of heaven – that you honestly thought that I had no idea that lust was permissible within the marital union between spouses, even when I just used Jesus’ own words comparing it to adultery which is not possible, by definition, between a legally married husband and wife?
For crying out loud, QM. Really? That’s your statement?

25 years of the gender-feminist / perversions and manufactured statistics Alliances with American law enforcement have “purged” all the hetero-family men from the highest ranks in washington, and to fill the void…we now got massive amounts of pedophile perverts in the highest ranks of the DOD, and DOJ.
