Chuck Todd Creates Controversy by Playing ‘Gotcha’ With Ben Carson

Contrary to anything you see or hear in the media, this is not a story about Ben Carson and it’s not a story about Islam. This is a story about the biased media, who play “gotcha” with Republicans in a way they never do with Democrats:
Ben Carson says the United States should not elect a Muslim president.
“I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that,” the retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Carson’s comment comes on the heels of GOP front-runner Donald Trump taking a question from an campaign rally attendee who said, “We have a problem in this country; it’s called Muslims.” . . .
Carson, meanwhile, was asked Sunday whether a president’s faith should matter to voters.
“I guess it depends on what that faith is,” he said. “If it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the Constitution, no problem.”
Asked whether Islam is consistent with the Constitution, Carson said: “No, I don’t — I do not.”
Candor about Islam will guarantee you the hot seat at the center of a media firestorm.
The GOP is the only one of the two parties that will even discuss the 800-pound elephant in the room: jihad and Muslim terrorism. Islamic supremacists and their leftist lapdogs in the media are waging their own jihad to silence this debate, and it is critical that we push back and support candidates who dare to speak against the gravest threat to our national security.
Ben Carson is defending himself, and I doubt he will be seriously damaged by this phony controversy. Do not expect Chuck Todd or anyone else in the biased media start throwing “gotcha questions at Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat. Chuck Todd and NBC consider it their job to help elect Democrats, period.

Muslims are modern day Nazis. Anyone who supports Islam or even appeases Islam is a Nazi-lover.

I won’t argue with that, and I don’t think that they themselves could argue it either.

Carson’s reply was self-evident, and Americans in general would agree with it, even leftists except the most hard-core (so we see where on the spectrum Todd lies, in case we didn’t already know.)
It would be like asking, “Should we elect a President under treatment for terminal cancer?” Well, duh.

The thinking is that Carson should not presume that a Muslim president would act against the best interests of the United States just because he subscribes to a dangerous, sick cult that proscribes things that are against the best interests of the United States. But whenever someone commits a mass shooting or other terrorist attack, presume that it’s a Tea Party member until their identity is confirmed. The Liberal Media.

Islam is incompatible with the Constitution; Islam requires submission of all to the religion, especially the political, and thus an orthodox Muslim cannot uphold the Constitution above the Quran. Maybe Ben should have retorted, “Anyone who cannot uphold and defend the Constitution should not hold office, and it doesn’t matter if they are Christian, Muslim, or Atheist.”

And why do the candidates not make this a “War on Women” issue? Child rape, burkas, second class citizenship, ad infinitum, ad nauseum? Any Republican candidate worth his salt would be jumping on this in a heartbeat.
God bless Ben Carson, (with whom I disagree on a number of issues) for stating the obvious.

So Carson said he would not vote for a Muslim. In a way Chuck Todd did him a favor since it will give Carson a lot of free publicity.

a dangerous, sick cult that proscribes things that are against the best interests of the United States.
You mean the Democrats? (Badum-tish.)

That would certainly proscribe the entire Social Democratic party. Most of the Republican party as well.
