Conference Teaches Iowa Kids About Diversity, Tolerance and Butt Sex

Posted on | July 27, 2015 | 49 Comments

@IowaSafeSchools promotes Democrat Party values for the children.

A controversy in Iowa highlights a common tactic of the Gay Left: Engage in outrageous behavior and, when this predictably provokes opposition, claim that the critics are paranoid bigots whose outrage is an expression of irrational prejudice. Thus, criticism of gay activism proves the need for more gay activism. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Parents in Humboldt, Iowa (population 4,690) are petitioning the school district “to prevent students from attending the Iowa Safe Schools conference after realizing it’s more about gay sex than bullying.” The controversy erupted after a conservative group sent an observer to the Iowa Governors Conference on LGBTQ Youth in April. A recent report by The Family Leader made clear that most of what went on at this gay activist conference had very little to do with promoting safety in schools. Everyone who has paid attention to controversies surrounding “anti-bullying” efforts in schools knows that this is a Trojan Horse by which LGBT activists are smuggling their agenda into K-12 education.

The argument is that (a) homophobia is rampant in society, (b) gay kids are viciously bullied in schools, (c) this results in high rates of suicide among “LGBT youth” and, therefore, (d) if you don’t support gay-friendly “tolerance” programs in schools, you are a hateful bigot who wants kids to kill themselves. This is a variation of “Kafkatrapping,” wherein the Left accuses opponents of bad faith (e.g., racism, sexism, homophobia) and then demands that the accused prove himself innocent. Unless you recognize the tactic and are prepared to confront it effectively, you will be forced to defend yourself in an insane situation where you know you are falsely accused, but your denial of the accusation is interpreted as proof of your guilt. (This is the scenario of Franz Kafka’s 1925 novel The Trial, whence the name “Kafkatrapping.”)

In the context of the Iowa “Safe Schools” controversy, there can be no doubt that the LGBT activists are in the wrong. Hundreds of kids from around the state were bussed to the April conference in Altoona, Iowa. Among other things, teenagers were entertained by “a drag performer named Coco Peru, who delivered an expletive-laden presentation” and urged students to slash the tires of cars with bumper stickers expressing opposition to the LGBT agenda. Transgenderism and Internet hook-ups were also among the topics discussed:

“There were only two sessions [among more than 20] that had anything to do with bullying. It’s a conference teaching kids how to: how to be confidently homosexual, how to pleasure their gay partners — one session even taught transsexual girls how to sew fake testicles into their underwear in order to pass themselves off as boys.” . . .

• One speaker wore a dress made of condoms, so they could be easily detached and “used as needed.”
• Another told a rousing story of how he used social media to find friends and accidentally stumbled into an orgy.
• One session taught how to properly use “binders” to reduce the visibility of a girl’s breasts and discussed hormone treatments for delaying puberty, assuring kids the drugs were safe.

This conference was sponsored by corporations — including Nationwide Insurance, Office Depot and the company that owns the T.J.Maxx and Marshalls clothing stores — and sponsors also included the statewide teachers union, the University of Iowa and the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa. The funding provided by these sponsor enabled Iowa’s gay activists to rent the conference center at the Prairie Meadows Casino for their event and the prestige of endorsements by school officials helped them bring children from all over the state to attend. With such resources at their disposal, Iowa Safe Schools hired “social justice comedian” Sam Killerman to entertain these underage kids with a routine that featured “humor” about the pleasures of analingus.

Ending Bullying is Focus of Governor’s LGBTQ Event

That was the misleading headline on a “news” article at the Web site of the Des Moines NBC affiliate, WHO-TV. The article was nothing more than free publicity — dishonest P.R. hype that advanced the false narrative of the event’s sponsors.

Understand this: Everyone involved knew in advance that this event was under hostile scrutiny. The Iowa Governor’s Conference on LGBTQ Youth was the target of criticism two years ago by the same organization that exposed what happened at this year’s conference. If organizers knew their critics would be monitoring this event, why wouldn’t they tone it down? Why did Iowa Safe Schools cram their conference schedule with seminars and performances that were certain to provoke controversy?

The controversy provides gay activists an excuse to play the victim:

Nate Monson said for those trying to prevent LGBT teens from attending is, “disgusting.”  Monson is the organization’s executive director and said he is working to make the event bigger and better based on the criticism from last year’s event.
“The most frustrating thing of this, it’s my job in this state to make sure statistics go down that are impacting LGBT kids. It’s incredibly frustrating that adults are being the problem and being the bully. We can do better in Iowa,” he said.

Nate Monson is a professional liar. He organized an event promoting perversion to teenagers, an event he knew would provoke criticism that he could then use to accuse critics of “being the bully,” a dishonest claim of victimhood that could (a) serve to discredit opponents and also (b) be used in fundraising appeals to the wealthy gay activists who fund Monson’s organization. Monson engages in these deceptive tactics with the active assistance of liberal journalists who are eager to give LGBT groups free publicity and actively promote their propaganda claims, including the dishonest portrayal of their opponents as bullies and bigots

This is not a conspiracy, it’s a consensus.

Among other things, this consensus involves a belief shared among Democrats (both in the media and in activist groups) that homosexuality is good for kids and Christianity is bad for kids. More importantly, by constantly attacking Christianity and constantly promoting homosexuality, the hired liars of the liberal media promote an agenda that they believe will help elect Democrats, and nothing is more important to the media than helping Democrats.

If you check Nate Monson’s LinkedIn profile, you see that he was active in College Democrats and was hired by Iowa Safe Schools immediately after his graduation in 2007. The LGBT agenda and the Democrat Party agenda are the same agenda, which is therefore also the media’s agenda, as well as the public school agenda. In addition to being sponsored by the Iowa teachers union, the April LGBTQ Youth conference was also sponsored by the Iowa Association of School Boards and School Administrators of Iowa. Every statewide education group supports this LGBT/Democrat agenda, which explains the “equal opportunity” doubletalk from school officials in reaction to protests in Humboldt:

The group, titled “Concerned Citizens” is petitioning for the school to ban the event towards students in the future and called the district’s decision to allow the students to attend the conference, “a gross misuse of taxpayer money.”
However the district’s superintendent, Greg Darling, said the school did not pay for the students to attend the conference since it was hosted through a student-run club. He said the club’s organizer is in charge of fundraising efforts and must determine if the event will be attended next year.
Darling told Channel 13, “We support all clubs in the school that meet the polices and procedures. We are an equal opportunity school and do not discriminate against anyone. We strive to have a positive learning environment in the district but we do not support any group of individuals who uses profanity in presentations.”

The superintendent is saying that, whatever happened at the conference, the district will not shut down the “student-run club” that sponsored a trip to the conference, because it wouldn’t be “equal opportunity” to prevent students from being exposed to the LGBT/Democrat agenda. Everyone employed by the Iowa public school system, including Humboldt Superintendent Greg Darling, is required to endorse the LGBT/Democrat agenda, because this is the entire purpose of Iowa public schools, i.e., to teach kids to reject Christianity and vote Democrat. Becoming homosexual is not mandatory in Iowa public schools yet, but certainly no student or employee in the Iowa public school system can oppose homosexuality, for the same reason Christianity is prohibited in Iowa public schools.

In Iowa, as in every other state, the public education system exists to employ Democrat teachers and administrators, who are paid to train students to think like Democrats. Taxes are paid by Republicans in order to fund these Democrat voter-training facilities where the children of Republicans are taught to hate their parents. And nobody is allowed to tell the truth about any of this, because public schools (like the media) only employ professional liars who condemn the truth as “hate.”

The American public education system is a menace to the health and safety of America’s children. Controlled by Democrats, it has been corrupted by Democrats and operates for the benefit of Democrats — a vast criminal enterprise that defrauds taxpayers of their money in order to corrupt the hearts and minds of children.

What happened to the doctors who used to tell us that the anus was NOT a sex organ; that trying that is dangerous and unsanitary?

    Where did they all go?

What “science” (if any) refuted their advice?

Why doesn’t anti-bullying ever have anything to do with bullying? Why is it always a lecture (and sales pitch) on the weird proclivities of weird people?

People get bullied for all kinds of reasons, yet we don’t have appreciation lectures for all those other reasons.

They illegalized this stuff a couple of years ago in Russia. They also illegalized h0m0 adoptions. They would go to Russia to adopt Russian orphanage boys to be used as human sex toys (commonly referred to a “chickens”).

As much as i hate to say it Oz is futher down the tubrs than you blokes on this.

The Labour party is our version of the Democrats here and they just passed the following rule for their party.

“….The Labor Party conference will today consider whether to force its members to vote for same sex marriage.

At the moment Labor MPs have a conscience vote but there is a move from some in the Left faction, including Deputy Leader Tanya Plibersek, to ensure they would be “bound” to vote for marriage equality after the next election.

That would leave those MPs and senators who oppose gay marriage having to abstain or cross the floor, which could see them expelled from the party….”

I will post the comment I always post for stories such as this:

Get your kids out of the public educational system: Homeschool or sell what you need to sell and send them to a decent parochial school. You cannot afford not to. Sure, you may wind up having to give up cable television or that new car, but when your children’s souls are at stake, no price is too much.

It is always surreal when I share these things on Facebook and such. My initial thought is that it is too gross for public forums. Then I realize that the whole point is that they are teaching this to kids!

  11. RS
    July 27th, 2015 @ 7:02 pm

One other point: I hear well-meaning people–some concerned parents, others Christian teachers in the public school system–talk about changing things “on the inside.” That is an absolute pipe-dream. Teachers who object to this sort of thing are marginalized or fired. (I once asked a public school teacher at my church who appeared personally offended that I sent my kids to parochial schools, “What would happen to you if you started your class with prayer every day?” She left in a huff and hasn’t spoken to me since.)

Parents who object are marginalized and labeled as “loons” and “troublemakers” and their children are punished in countless subtle ways.

It doesn’t matter if you live a school district with locally elected members. The teachers unions which are behind most of this, make sure to run a slate of candidates and demonize any school board member who dares to try to stop their agenda. There is no change on the inside. The only way to fight is to remove your kids from the system, vote against any tax increase for public education, and spread the word about this institutional deviance and perversion.

  13. RS

And it is deliberately hidden from the parents until it’s too late. The first clue that there’s something wrong is when your child doesn’t bring home school work for an extended period of time and you get no support for seeing papers from the teacher. Ask yourself, why wouldn’t a teacher gladly send home work for parental review? It’s because the children are being exposed to something the school knows many parents would object to.

  14. RS
    July 27th, 2015 @ 7:12 pm

BTW, if your public high school has an LGBT “club,” know that its sponsor is a gay or lesbian teacher who will tell the kids than s/he is a person to come to when/if/because a child’s parents are not supportive of the child’s “lifestyle.” In reality, these adults prey upon adolescents who, by definition, are dealing the the difficult transition to adulthood and attempt to convince them that they’re gay.

(Sorry for the many comments, but this issue is of supreme importance to me. I know from the inside that this has been going on for 25 years. I’ve seen it with my own eyes and that’s what caused me to vow never to let my children set foot in a public school. Unfortunately, a quarter century ago, people looked at me like I was idiot. “That will never happen” or “Your exaggerating” or “If something like that happens, we’ll deal with it through the school board.” Right. See where we are now. And this has been planned for a long, long time.)

Homeschool while you still can, I say. As per your caveat, I’ll say what I always say, and that is, I homeschooled even while I worked a 50+ hour a week job outside the house. Anybody can do this if they are motivated, and there are these things called “teacher’s editions”…

The Teacher’s Union wants homeschooling to be illegal. They are clear about this, and soon the day will come when it will be. Sooner than later. With even a year’s worth of homeschool you can make enormous strides with your kids, not only in terms of actual education, but also religious/morality education.

  19. RS
    July 27th, 2015 @ 8:40 pm

The unions are against homeschooling and parochial schools. The next things will be specific test requirements for all students, which tests cover things like diversity. Performance on the tests will determine whether someone can get into a public college. (Already, homeschoolers are not afforded admission to certain public colleges, but must attend a community college first.) This will be sold as guaranteeing “standards” because the state doesn’t oversee curricula for parochial schools or homeschools. This is, of course, a smokescreen as both parochial students and homeschooled students consistently have higher achievement test scores than public school students. It’s only purpose is to compel indoctrination.

  20. DeadMessenger
    July 27th, 2015 @ 8:56 pm

You are absolutely right about indoctrination, which is why parents need to do it first. I would also have no problem with community college. The longer they are in my house and under my general supervision during the public indoctrination period, the better.

We haven’t had TV in my house for a good 10 years. But for 4 years before that, we had it, but I wouldn’t generally watch; it was there for everyone else. If I did watch, I would give a constant rundown of objectionable themes and dialog, and all the things that Jesus wouldn’t like. Soon my kids started eagerly joining in. It turned into a game, until the last hold-out, Mr. DM, finally caved because all the pleasure was gone.

My point is, I would have a “game” like that for school if for some reason, my kids *had* to go to public school. I’d reward them every day for reporting all the sins and crimes committed there every day. I’d encourage them to rat their teachers out. And I’d put it all in an anonymous blog (having mad computer skills comes in handy), inviting comments from locals and getting other parents wound up. Wouldn’t stop the indoctrination, but I’d keep ’em in the hot seat and constantly make their lives hell.

When MassResistance dared to disclose the happy “fisting” lessons taught in Massachusetts public school presentations, they got sued for it.

Somebody else here previously mentioned how MassResistance published a letter from one homosexual activist in Maine, who conceded that these “gay youth” groups are a smorgasbord for adults who so earnestly want to help these teens (or younger) to “explore” their sexuality.

This is why normal, conservative people need to run in school board elections. If we don’t take over the public school boards, we then let the “professional educators” decide these things, and the story above is the result. Once the professional educators realize that the school board will get rid of principals and superintendents who push stuff like that, they’ll stop.

And, once elected, the school boards must assign board members to actually monitor these things.

The problem really started back in the seventies, when, for some cockamamie reason, people thought that the public schools should start taking over parenting duties. If mom and pop didn’t teach their kids about sex, why we thought that the public schools should take over that duty! (It’s not like those of us who didn’t have sex education classes in school were never able to figure it out alone.)

Maybe, maybe! when the public schools can get it right about teaching reading, writing and arithmetic, they can branch out into other things, but when they can’t even do their primary functions well, they sure as heck shouldn’t be doing extraneous stuff.

  24. RS
    July 28th, 2015 @ 8:00 am

This is why normal, conservative people need to run in school board elections.

The problem is, such people have zero chance of changing anything at this point. The teachers’ unions will stack the deck with candidates, usually relatives of teachers and administrators or retired teachers or administrators. Any conservative, traditional candidate is painted as a loon. If by chance one should win, s/he is completely shut out of the loop, and the campaign to oust that person begins immediately.

Further, state law makes firing tenured teachers and administrators virtually impossible. Our host has chronicled some of the abominations around the country. Firings only occur when a teacher violates a Progressive taboo.

I wish it were otherwise, but as I mentioned above, I’ve seen this from the inside and listed while educational “professionals” explained strategy thinking I was an ally.

Teachers and school administrations are too afraid of a lawsuit and too uncertain of their moral authority to discipline a misbehaving child or break up a fight. Thus they flinch at conflict with the nascent forces of aggression and evil in boys.

That’s why these “anti-bullying” initiatives focus on “root causes” such as “prejudices” deemed “inciteful.” Instead of teaching the children peace and real tolerance, they try to condition the children’s minds to be blind to differences among each other.

In effect, you can’t tell a classmate he’s a malformed fairy because that’s an implicit value judgment that could lead to violence. That particular judgment is sound. So the meek Christian child standing up for his faith in Health class gets suspended/sensitivity training, while the REAL bullies on the playground get a pass. Because, as I said, what started us down this road was cowardice in the face of real aggression. That’s the result of years of moral relativism convincing them there’s no righteous thing worth standing for.

I like that Russia criminalized indoctrinating children in homosexuality rather than homosexuality itself. So no one can cry about not being able to do stuff with adults in the privacy of their homes, but are instead forced to justify why they want to talk to kids about butt sex. Of course the Western media ignores that distinction and refers to it as simply “anti-gay” law; it also ignores the stated reason for it, which was to increase childbirth.

The problem I see with vouchers is an economic one. A private school with tuition X presumably has set that price based upon the demand for its services and the willingness of people to pay X. If you add in a voucher of Y, the rational market increases tuition to X + Y to include both the price the market has already established plus the voucher amount. Further, voucher do nothing for homeschoolers, unless they’re provided with an equivalent amount for homeschool curriculum.

I also worry about unscrupulous providers stepping in to take advantage of “government money,” similar to what we’ve seen with higher education.

I’m almost 58 years old. When I was a kid, my siblings and I were the target of bullies — and this was never a problem with the teachers and administrators *until* we fought back and kicked butt.

Bureaucrats care only about covering their own asses long enough to “get theirs” and get out. For an “education” bureaucrat, this means ignoring real problems and then coming down hard on any innocents who somehow force them to admit there is a problem.

  37. arcadius
    July 28th, 2015 @ 5:02 pm

Sure, there are some issues to work through. That doesn’t change the fact that it would make it a lot easier for parents to opt out of left-wing brainwashing. The left knows very well that there is very little market for it — almost all parents, even left-wing ones, do not want their children encouraged to have anal sex at the age of 10. Many parents who cannot afford private Christian schools would send their children to one if they could.

“the rational market increases tuition to X + Y to include both the price the market has already established plus the voucher amount”

That could happen. You’ll also get more private schools opening increasing supply, but yes there will still be schools that remain out of reach financially for some people. But you have that now, even in public schools — public school scores are highly influential for property prices, i.e. not everyone can afford to live in areas with good public schools. But I suspect that many churches will be interested in opening economically run, not for profit schools that can provide a good, Christian education at a reasonable price.

“unless they’re provided with an equivalent amount for homeschool curriculum.”

I have no problem with that. In order to make it more economically feasible, there will likely be homeschooling parents willing to take in their friends’ children, or perhaps switch off while working part time.

In the long term, there would be an increase in supply of schools to take advantage of increased demand. The question is how long?

The thing that bothers me is that the public school system is supported still by people who call themselves Christian. The Roman Catholics maintained their own schools, as did the Lutherans. The balance of Protestants relied upon the public schools to confess a sort of generic protestant Christianity. That train, however, left the station in the 1950s.

Yet, too many Christians buried their heads and refused to do what it takes to educate their children spiritually and academically. Then they wonder why their kids drift from the faith when they leave home.

Again, I advocated for our congregation to combine with others and start a K-12 school. All I received was “we pay taxes” and/or “we’ll change it” and/or “it’s not that bad in our school.” That was 25 years ago. Now we see the result.

As for the “can’t afford it” part, I don’t mean this to be snarky, because I know it’s difficult. We have made many sacrifices over the years; our kids have done without most of the gadgets their peers have. I drive 10 year old cars and live in a house much smaller than my income would allow. My guess is quite a few–not all–but quite a few people who claim to be unable to afford it, really don’t want to sacrifice what’s required to insure their children get a Christian education.

“In the long term, there would be an increase in supply of schools to take advantage of increased demand. The question is how long?”

Again, I don’t think this is a huge issue and widespread voucher systems would be a great improvement despite some imperfections. Many private schools are under capacity now, so in the short term there might not be a need for more schools. We’d have to guard against artificially raising tuition due to government funding like what has happened in higher education, but I think it can work. (Something like tying voucher levels to cost of living would probably work.)

I agree that many people could probably go without the latest gadget or live in a less fashionable part of town and be able to send their kids to Christian schools. Another problem with Catholic schools is they used to be run by nuns who were given room and board and not much else, which allowed tuition to be reasonable for middle class families. Sometime in the 1960’s the American nuns got it into their heads that they needed to become radical leftists, and (surprise!) their numbers have decreased dramatically. There has been some effort by the Vatican to stop this, but most are too far gone by this point.

But remember: the Supreme Court ruled that school vouchers are legal. I really do think conservatives should push them a lot more — they could really strike a blow against left-wing indoctrination. But does the GOP care more about that or about not being called “racists” by CNN?

To answer the question in your tweet: Because the little dears need to learn how government’s going to interact with them *sometime*.

Every time I think I’ve “taken the measure” of the Progressive’s cesspool-diving, some here at TOMcC (T*he O*ther McC*ain) proves that I’ve inadequately pegged their —– (words fail me)!

Am I stuck in a nightmare?
