Police in Boston Shoot Terror Suspect Whose Brother Is California Imam UPDATE: Plans to Behead Police?
Posted on | June 3, 2015 | 35 Comments
An armed man in his 20s being surveilled by the FBI counterterrorism unit was shot and killed by an FBI agent and a Boston police officer in Roslindale [Tuesday] morning, according to Boston Police Commissioner William Evans.
“He was on foot, under surveillance,” Evans said. “The officers have been surveilling him and again they wanted to speak to him … and he turned and our officers gave several commands for him to drop the weapon and unfortunately he came at the officers and they did what they were trained to do and that’s never an easy decision for any officer to make.”
One FBI agent and one BPD officer fired, FBI Special Agent in Charge Vincent B. Lisi said.
Evans said the suspect was wielding a large military-style black knife that he could have “done a lot of damage” with.
A man under round-the-clock surveillance by an anti-terrorism task force was shot and killed Tuesday by a Boston police officer and FBI agent when he lunged at them with a menacing military knife, according to police. The shooting sparked an expanded investigation that quickly led to an arrest in Everett and a search in Rhode Island.
Usaama Rahim, 26, had made threats against law enforcement, according to two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the case. Officials declined to explain what had led to the ongoing antiterrorism task force investigation or detail its scope, although they said it had been going on for a while.
The real shocking news comes from CNN:
Rahim had been under surveillance by the U.S. Joint Terrorism Task Force, officials said.
Ibrahim Rahim, an imam at the Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland, California, earlier posted about his brother’s death on social media.
Ibrahim Rahim wrote on Facebook that his brother was shot while at a bus stop on his way to work. He asked for prayers for his brother.
In a 2013 interview with CNN, Ibrahim Rahim voiced his objection to presiding over the funeral of Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
“We don’t want people looking at us as though we are empathetic in any way to what has happened at the hands of this man and his brother,” he said at the time.
Ibrahim Rahim said his brother was on the phone with their father and was shot three times in the back during the confrontation. . . .
The FBI-led task force had been watching Rahim and two associates believed to be radicalized by ISIS and other extremist influences, according to a law enforcement official. Rahim had been monitored for at least a couple of years. Investigators were talking to the associates, and various locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island were being searched, officials said.
The FBI noted a recent change in the suspect’s behavior, including social media threats against police, which prompted agents to try to approach him Tuesday, according to the official.
The fact that his brother is an imam seems highly significant.
Usaama Rahim’s brother is an imam at a California mosque & of course, he blames @bostonpolice for brothers death. http://t.co/HiwqnsQzSy

UPDATE: More from Ed Morrissey at Hot Air:
Police arrested another man, David Wright, as a suspected accomplice in Rahim’s alleged plot, and say they’re looking for more suspects too. CBS reports that investigators believe the plot was tied to ISIS . . .
Martha MacCallum says Fox News has confirmed that Wright and Rahim “were plotting to kill officers and behead them.”
It would seem that the Democrat Party’s anti-police activism and the Democrat Party’s policy of surrendering to Islamic terrorism have had an interesting sort of convergence in this case.

His brother got on Twitter and said “Oh, my brother was shot in the back by police, his last words were ‘I can’t breathe,’ please pray for him” followed by an outpouring of sympathy from various people, including the press. No mention of the words TERRORIST or that he HAD A KNIFE. Minority = no accountability for his actions.

Not only an imam, but with a connection to the Boston bomber? Did you note the throwaway mention of “presiding over the funeral of Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev?”
So how hard is it to connect the dots here? Boston, terrorist connections, the Tsarnaevs?

Yeah, the brother who was not actually present at the scene says that. But his claims will trump any forensic evidence, including the video which I understand exists. So how long before it is released? If it’s as straightforward as the police and FBI say, it needs to come out instantly to counter the ready made police murder story that’s already getting legs.

That video can be as straightforward as can be, but all that’s needed for the liberal narrative to “get legs” is for liberals to want to believe it. People are still wearing “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” t-shirts after all.

You’re not wrong, but the professional race baiters won’t be swayed, their script is already in play. I don’t want the public debate framed by them, as it was in Ferguson and Baltimore and before that, Saint Trayvon of the Blessed Hoodie.

It seems that CNN is showing RAAAAACISM!! and Islamophobia in their reporting by mentioning the religious background of the suspect. Perhaps they should amend their style guide in a manner similar to the “Urban Youth Protocol” (ie: never mentioning things such as the systemic violence culture of Polar Bear Hunts or the Knock-Out Game, and adding phrases such as “gentle giant” or “unarmed teen” to descriptions of certain people involved in altercations with police)
They’re slipping in their duties of being what Dante called ‘Sowers of Discord and Scandal’ (cf Ferguson MO and Sanford FL among others in recent events) … just google the phrase for some interesting paintings and literary history.
In general I view the Democrat-Media Complex as the very definition of Sowers of Discord and Scandal
Prov 6 (KJV)
12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward* mouth.13 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; 14 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. 15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
* not a spelling error: froward- (1) (archaic) adverse (2) habitually disposed to disobedience and opposition

Imagine that, an imam used taqiya and lied to make a Muslim look better and to make kuffar look worse. This is my shocked face. 😐

A few months ago the Australian press reported the case of one Adbul Numan Haider (bonus points for guessing his religious affiliation). He was requested by police to attend a police station for questioning. Upon arrival he proceeded to draw a large knife and attack the two policemen, continuing to stab one when he fell to the ground. The second policeman promptly shot and killed him – never let it be said that God wasted intelligence on these wannabe jihadis.
(Un)surprising, follow-up points:
– his family blames the police
– the MSM reports him as the victim
– the Muslim community blames racism, intolerance and marginalization
Rinse and repeat at other locations worldwide.

‘Interesting’ how the narrative is twisted.
Another ‘lone wolf’ attack.
How many does it take, before these ‘wannabe’ leaders
realize the pack…is nipping at their jewels…?

Usaama Rahim violated Rule 1: Never bring a knife to a gunfight.
June 3rd, 2015 @ 3:02 pm
The patriarchs here just don’t like brown people. Usaama was a gentle giant who was excited about going to medical school in the Fall. He was on his way to work at Catholic Charities and talking to his father about his mother’s illness on his phone while he walked. Just because he was carrying a small paring knife to cut open the bag of Skittles in his hoodie pocket, he was profiled and gunned down by white privilege bigots.
June 3rd, 2015 @ 3:11 pm
New name, “known wolf”.
June 3rd, 2015 @ 3:14 pm
Adbul Numan Haider was an honor student and Jehovah’s Witness, on his way to the Kingdom Hall. He was sipping from a small carton of milk while reading from his Bible as he walked. When he stopped to proudly show a police officer the small pocket knife that his grandfather had given him as a gift following his recent baptism, another officer shot him in the back in cold blood, profiling him because his skin was brown.
