Issa: Her Majesty & #OccupyResoluteDesk Are Both Beyond Justice & They Know It

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Sunday suggested that Hillary Clinton could face criminal charges if she knowingly withholds emails from congressional investigators.
Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Issa noted that “voluntary cooperation does not guarantee that it’s a crime not to deliver all” requested emails.

Setting up your own security is both:

  • boneheaded due to risks, and
  • looks kinda like a precursor to shady moves.

But how, under the sun, are you going to bring charges, and actually carry out a trial?

Stipulate for a moment that you do. What difference, at that point, would it make? Irrespective of the Rodeo Clown’s personal contempt for Her Majesty, President Jarrett is going to put a pardon in front of the meat puppet for one of those elegant signatures.

Corporate integrity is like driver courage in bad weather, I realized in last Thursday’s slush. We’re going to go a little slower than the biggest coward on the road, no matter the conditions. The organization as a whole is going to be slightly slimier than the lowest cretin in the lot. When you’re beset with zero-integrity dirtbags like Occupy Resolute Desk and Her Majesty, the miracle is that we’re not closer to a banana republic than we already are.

The GOP needs to quit boring everyone with the potential for justice that is no longer attainable in this corrupt system. What’s needful is that the facts be broadcast, the plan to refresh our federal government promulgated, and the reform package put to voters for 2016.

Don’t bore me, Issa.

Much ado about nothing. An opportunity for republican goons to do some Sunday morning grandstanding, and then return to business as usual, obstructionism.

Not that any of the Republicans are going to save our republic but Hillary is most assuredly a step in the wrong direction. Obviously trial and punishment is not going to happen. Hell we couldn’t convict Bill when everyone in the country saw him commit perjury. If somehow this email caper derailed Her Majesties coronation after all these years of skating, that would at least be a smidgen of ironic justice. And there is some small measure of hope in that regard. Hillary’s MIB cleanup crew has been out in full force for several days but their preposterous doesn’t appear to be having the desired effect even with the drivebys.
Several weeks ago the news was reporting for a day or two that Hillary was willing to come before Gowdy’s committee. Don’t see how it’s up to her but at any rate she undoubtedly knows Benghazi and Libya in general will never recede to the rearview until she testifys. Gowdy insists he won’t call her until he has ALL the documents. That committee could be hanging over her head for a long time.

I take it you’re not a fan of Washington’s only redeeming value which of course is gridlock.

I think Trey Gowdy can subpoena more effectively than Issa can. I just want the GOP to at least try.

You are not going to impeach a president over committing perjury over a blow job. This is about subpoenaing records before Hillary runs for election. Her shenanigans may be enough to derail her in an election.

If not, well that is the state this republic is in.

It’s reality, whether we like it or not. Only voters and activists can change it. I suspect it’ll take a little more masochistic beating the head against Washington walls until this changes.

For example, the suggested Convention of States.

Look, we’ve pretty much shown that there really isn’t anything impeachable.

  13. Adobe_Walls

For the moment it’s the most we can expect. I doubt activists and I know voters won’t change that. It will take something truly dramatic and traumatic.

Still haven’t seen a proposal that prevents the left from hijacking that. Without that the notion is doomed. It took many compromises for the first convention to produce the constitution. While there was much disagreement, most of the delegates trusted their motives and had faith in the honor of the others. An article V that allows TWANLOC to attend would be a disaster.

I tend to think at the heart of this problem is a certain level of institutionalized abuse of power. Modern politicians using more refined methods than ever before, figured out how to exploit the weaknesses of the political system, while pushing courts loosening laws regulating such matters as campaign finance. The result is a shadow government imbedded in our democratically elected government that is beyond reach of ordinary voters. The result is an increasingly cynical electorate on all political sides, dividing government from voters further as time goes by. As opposed to the era of the founders, today very few people feel compelled to be well informed, let alone participate in the government process. For a moment it looked like this may reverse itself post 9/11, but this moment vanished faster than it appeared.

Obviously there should be no expectation of justice in the conventional sense of the term. There could however be some small satisfaction in thwarting Hillary’s life’s ambition. One has to enjoy the little things.

When the system is corrupt, you cannot work within it and expect justice. IRS emails from Lerner should be put publicly on the internet. SCREW THE RULES OF EVIDENCE. We weren’t going to get a fair trial anyway.
Put Hillary’s emails on the internet, and redact the classified material. Page after page of blacked-out text is evidence in itself.
Obama/Hillary haven’t been playing by the rules, and neither should we. The ONLY move I’ve seen that counters Obama’s fire with fire is the invitation of Netanyahu (God, did the lefties HATE that!).
THE WAY YOU FIGHT A DEMAGOGUE IS TO MAKE HIM/HER UNPOPULAR.
Put the evidence of slimy double-dealing before the people. They’ll come to the right conclusion. This is a POLITICAL battle, not a legal one.

Nice idea, but it’s years in the future. Two more years of Obama may be enough to sink us.

There is nothing shadowy about the institutionalization of abuse of power. It right there in plain sight just look at the Fourth Branch. While the elitists do lie about and deny it they really don’t try to hide.

Part of the problem is the Republicans have no idea how to engage in brinkmanship. After the second attempt to bring up the DHS funding bill was filibustered they should have introduced a bill to eliminate DHS while keeping some of it’s component parts. There was never any reason to create the DHS and when I first heard of the plans to create it my first thought was OMG what happens when the Democrats take control. There is no rational reason that actual security agencies like the Coast Guard or Border Patrol should be under the same umbrella as the people who issue social security numbers and green cards. Holding Border Patrol funding hostage to funding for immigration is moronic and leaves us vulnerable to repeated blackmail.

Hillary already knows she will be the next President. It was decided at Davos. Although I can’t imagine how many drugs and medications they’re going to have to pump her up with to keep her going.

  22. 7%solution

Well, they do, but anyone on to it can find out the facts. Trouble is, most people never even get this far, because part of the setup is to make it questionable to question the concentration of power amassed in certain corners of the government and their support system. The free press that is supposed to watch over government activities and report to the people has been blinded through M&As most lost track of.

The Republicans* do know how to engage in brownnosemanship. I’m wondering if every Republican in DC is sharing one spine, and whether they, you know, pass it around, or whether they each get a vertebra, or something.

    * I first typed Rupaulicans as a typo, but wonder if that was a Freudian slip. Probably should’ve left it.

The elitists come out of the closet more with each passing day. They’re in an adjacent state by now. At least in the past, they had the good taste to try to hide what they were doing. But not anymore.

  30. DeadMessenger

But define “majority” in a corrupt system oozing election fraud and newly minted amnesty recipients. The republic is dead, it appears, or, at least its pulse is thready. The question is, can it be resuscitated? I don’t see how, at this late hour. The peeps won’t care until their homeys are carted off to the gulags, but by then it’ll be too late.

I disagree. This is just another in a continuing series of ethical and moral lapses by Hillary Clinton. I really do hope she walks to the Democratic nomination because she will implode during the campaign.
