USA Today is closer to being part of the problem than part of the solution:

Yet to look around the USA is to see fear and anxiety. If you didn’t know better, you’d think this was a nation of wimps.

Take, for instance, the response to the Ebola outbreak. Millions of people worked themselves into a panic over a disease that has claimed the lives of fewer Americans this year than unsanitary caramel apples.

Or take the many universities so afraid of offending people that they have muzzled the very debate that is reputed to be one of their hallmarks.

You’ve had Godless Commies attacking our institutions for decades, and there are some external effects. The President is incontinent in the face of, well, anything job-related. Brian Williams sounds like a voice of authority, for all he lacks hair #1 anyplace that matters. At UVA, Teresa Sullivan practices fact-free fascism with a Nurse Ratched smile.

However, as Senator Mike Lee noted, the recent shenanigans with CROmnibus aren’t going unnoticed. While it would be silly to think that the country is going to escape at least a partial crash before the No-Talent Rodeo Clown leaves his final mess on the carpet, total collapse seems kind of Chicken Little.

Sure, the Commie twerps are doing everything they can to get a race war going, but pesky facts keep revealing them for liars, right, Sullivan? Lies have a  transient effect at best. The fallout of the lies may take longer to clean up. Indeed, unwinding a century of Progressive collapse is going to be the ultimate test of American Exceptionalism.

    The USAToday editorial looks like it was written by a child.

    Ebola: it’s only been about 90% fatal, and they aren’t sure how it’s transmitted, but fine, call it hysteria. In the old days before the media excommunicated anyone with a hint of journalistic integrity, they used to call something that killed so many people, even if it was in Africa, “news.”

    Democrats are always grasping for distractions from barack’s serial depredations. That’s why they always use the word hysteria to mean anything from mild interest thru caution. Wonder what they would say if people actually began to be concerned?

    Perhaps many or even most lies have a transient effect. However many lies, often the biggest ones, live on for years or even decades and have a profound effect. Global warming for instance, will be part of what should be serious discussions for a long time to come. By way of example of an old lie that’s still with us; Roosevelt saved us from the ”Great Depression”. That one is still told, and even worse still believed.

    In many of the previous outbreaks the fatality rate is often 90%. This usually happened in very remote and sparsely populated area where trained health workers weren’t available. The strains of Ebola involved were also different. In virtually all the reports I’ve read about the current outbreak the fatality rate varies from 60% to 70%. This in part depends on numerous factors such whether or not any treatment was available. Apparently early hydration efforts make a significant difference. Even with the successes treating patients here it seems being diagnosed after a certain point, the patient is doomed no matter how good the care, as the patient from Liberia who was treated Dallas demonstrates.

    Teresa Sullivan, the UVA President and feminist cultist who suspended all Greek activities on campus despite a lack of evidence for wrongdoing, then refused to reverse her ruling despite an abundance of evidence for lack of wrongdoing.
