How About: “It Was A Godforsaken Lie”

These people are so ridiculous:
According to pundits, the Democratic Party overplayed the “war on women” narrative in the 2014 midterm election, and this helped the GOP win key Senate and gubernatorial races, including in states carried easily by Obama in 2012. In that election, the birth control mandate in the Affordable Care Act — a crucial aspect of the war on women rhetoric — was hotly debated.
No, the issue was not the amount of crap you put into the soup: you were making soup out of crap.
Now and then the voters wake up and smell the (not) coffee.

Sadly it seems to have worked on the target, single women. But it repelled enough others to defeat itself.
December 1st, 2014 @ 12:17 pm
I think there is a very large component of fatigue working against the DimoKKKraps. About time, sez I.

Whenever they lose, they always think that their marketing was not good enough, and that it doesn’t really matter what their product was. This attitude would be morally acceptable if the Democratic party was only a marketing agency. A marketing agency would have no real commitment to any of the products that it helps advance. But when a ‘producer’ promotes it’s own product, you’d expect that they would care a little more about content.
I cant believe that they care if their customer is happy. All that matters to them is that they make a sale.
Has the Democratic party considered infomercials?
December 1st, 2014 @ 3:10 pm
Alan Colms said with a straight face ( okay as straight as his face can be ) that Democrats lost because they ran away from the President and the administration’s successes. I almost soiled myself.
December 1st, 2014 @ 3:15 pm
They already exist: MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Al Jazeera, PBS.
December 1st, 2014 @ 4:18 pm
I’d call it a f***king lie, myself.
December 1st, 2014 @ 5:20 pm
The whole ‘war on women’ meme seemed to work for them at first, but it may just have been part of the national uncertainty, with the tides temporarily shifting to the Democrats – which will always have them gaining women votes when it does.
The Democrats use the Stacy McCain Method of dealing with dead horses, though. That meme will be teeming with maggots before they give it up.
December 1st, 2014 @ 5:25 pm
What the democrats are saying is true in a limited sense. They had this stupid message about a “war on women” that resonates with (being generous) about 10% of voters. But since it was actually off putting to probably 45% of voters and completely ineffective to 45%…it did not work.
December 1st, 2014 @ 5:25 pm
Nat Geo channel, HBO, Cinamax, etc.
December 1st, 2014 @ 5:26 pm
Maybe they ran away because they saw Alan Colms face.

I keep seeing those damned infomercials for Obamacare. Annoys me every time that our tax dollars are being wasted on advertising this turd sandwich.
December 1st, 2014 @ 5:40 pm
I’m hoping that Democrats take his advice to heart and run in 2016 on the “successes” of the Obama Administration.
We might get more states than we got in 1980 if that happens.
December 1st, 2014 @ 9:02 pm
How about a 1984 level success?
December 2nd, 2014 @ 12:26 am
ShamWow Guy (D), 2016!
p.s. I’m sorry to say, he could possibly be a contender.
December 2nd, 2014 @ 1:41 am
I read that as “It Was A Godforsaken Life” and imagined a meme collision between Frank Capra and “Life of Julia.”
Oddly enough, that kinda relates to the topic…
December 2nd, 2014 @ 5:49 am
Eight years of Bush and abortion is still legal. If free contraception is a deal breaker we don’t need that woman’s vote. If a woman wishes to belong to an ideology that glorifies a young woman’s decision to make porn we don’t want her vote. There’s enough right minded women in this country to repudiate the liberal ‘war on women’ mantra. Real women don’t see themselves as victims. Unless they’re Auburn fans, then they marry the Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback. Wait, I think that’s another thread. Crap, where’s my meds?
December 2nd, 2014 @ 1:31 pm
It would be easier to list those who are not.
December 2nd, 2014 @ 1:32 pm
What self respecting Auburn student/grad marries someone from ‘Bama?
December 2nd, 2014 @ 2:24 pm
But the quote identifies the general malaise of liberalism. The end justifies the means. It didn’t matter that they made it up. The issue is that they didn’t win, because it’s always only about winning with liberals, regardless of the cause.
