The Gaza War Continues

Posted on | July 29, 2014 | 12 Comments

No ceasefire:

Israel will press its air and ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday, preparing his country for a longer and bloodier campaign and dashing hopes that the three-week-old conflict would end soon.
Rebuffing appeals from President Obama, the United Nations and others for an immediate cease-fire, Netanyahu said in a televised address, “We will not finish the mission, we will not finish the operation, without neutralizing the tunnels” through which Hamas fighters have sought to infiltrate Israel. The tunnels, he said, “have the sole purpose of destroying our citizens, killing our children.”
Israel’s antagonist, the Islamist militant organization Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, continued to unleash deadly mortar and rocket fire, triggering air raid sirens across Israel.

Still haven’t heard back from the Nobel Peace Prize committee.

Hamas has not honored any cease fire. Israel tried, but the Islamocrazies refuse. The residents of Gaza have tolerated them, and now death comes as a result.
Don’t quit until it’s over. And I’m not talking about just the tunnels either.

According to end times prophecy, one of these skirmishes is going to escalate into WW3, or the Gog and Magog war. Might not be this one, but sooner or later, it’ll happen. (See Isaiah 17, Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38 & 39.)

Isaiah 17 and Psalms 83 do not appear to be related to Ezekial 38 & 39. The enemies listed in Ezekial 38 & 39 are not the inner circle around Israel. It appears that the inner circle is either defeated, and so are not involved, or that Jordan and Egypt don’t want to be involved, with Syria, perhaps, not existing as a political entity any longer. It is of interest that Damascus is prophesied to become a heap of ruins. The current civil war might do that.

It’s just possible, however, that there are not two wars as some think, and that all of the passages you cite are related. Interesting times.

My thinking is that the Isaiah and the Psalms wars are definitely related, and this is how things start, then the Ezekiel part springboards from those. . We’ll have to see how things play out. I think maybe we can’t easily see that we’re in a prophetic moment until we’re in the midst of it. The Lord works in mysterious ways, eh?

Much of the book of Daniel is about our time. I’ve had the opinion that we have been a prophetic period since the 6 day war in ’67. God does tell His people what He’s going to do. It’s in broad outlines so we will pay attention to our relationship with Him, rather than what’s going on, important though that may be.
