Remember When @RaniaKhalek Played ‘Count the Jews at the Nation’?

New York University student Laura Adkins exposed the intimidation tactics of the radical campus group Students for Justice in Palestine and, as you might expect, Adkins has been relentlessly harassed online the past two days by the usual suspects, including self-proclaimed “independent journalist” Rania Khalek.

The fact that SJP is linked to Hamas? The fact that SJP was kicked off campus at Northeastern University? The fact that SJP’s faculty adviser at Northeastern bragged “that anti-Israel activism on campus has made pro-Israel students afraid to speak out”? Khalek can’t be bothered with these facts, which expose the truth that SJP is a terrorist-supporting group that uses brownshirt tactics.

Khalek supports the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement, the goal of which is the elimination of the state of Israel. Last month, a blogger at the Jerusalem Post called attention to Khalek’s peculiar ethnic obsessions:

[A]n excellent article by Russell A. Berman in the Los Angeles Review of Books, which recently hosted a forum debating the BDS movement against Israel. Berman’s piece is one of several contributions opposing BDS, and towards the end of his extremely knowledgeable and well-argued critique, he points out that there is reason for concern that the antisemitism that “is part of the international context in which the debate about Israel rages on” is also affecting the debate in the US. As an example Berman cites an article by Khalek published in the The Electronic Intifada in late 2013, where she “criticized an allegedly pro-Israeli perspective at The Nation through the tried and true anti-Semitic tactic of counting the Jews among the staff writers and, not surprisingly, determining that there were too many to her taste.” According to Berman, the reaction to Khalek’s piece “from the progressive camp was closer to silence than outrage, indicating a willingness to give anti-Semitism a pass, as long as it has the correct political credentials.”
Khalek’s Electronic Intifada piece is entitled “Does The Nation have a problem with Palestinians?” She argues there — if this is what it can be called — that the Nation’s coverage of the BDS movement was dominated by the voices of Jewish writers. Dismissing the fact that “the majority of pieces in the latest debate were in favor of boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS),” Khalek goes on to complain that “when it comes to Israel and Palestine, The Nation habitually reinforces Israeli apartheid by privileging Jewish voices over Palestinian ones.” According to Khalek, it is also ridiculous to believe that “four Jews and one Palestinian” could provide a “diversity of views,” as the Nation’s editor and publisher had claimed.

There are too many Jews at The Nation, according to Rania Khalek. There are also too many Jews in Israel, according to Rania Khalek.

This raises the question: What is the appropriate number of Jews anywhere, according to Rania Khalek?

Perhaps . . . zero?

Thanks McCain. The more people expose this kind of antisemitic BS the better.

Why don’t we start with zero Muslims first and see how that works out? We might have to worry about the optimum number of Jews and can go back to watching TV.

Antisemitism never goes away. It merely assumes different guises, and at the moment, it appears as “Anti-Zionism,” “BDS,” etc. If Israel were to disappear, it would merely take a new form.

The SPLC has a ‘Hate Incident’ log and the intimidation of the Jewish students isn’t listed. So it wasn’t really a hate crime.

“I think there’s a large degree of spiritual warfare at work in our world – warfare that blinds the masses to truth, because they actively reject it. “

Yes, and the secularists would mock you for saying that, if they weren’t so busy hating each other.

Oh, I’m sure they can come together long enough to denounce and destroy anybody with LLC’s opinion and then go right back to the neverending liberal bonafides feather preening and strutting to prove just how much more liberal/tolerant/green/whatever they are than the other guy who says the exact same things, just not in the same way.

Maybe the Jews should take a page from the Muslim playbook and start acting like savages and blowing things up for the slightest offense. I really think Glenn is onto something with that advice. I personally am not swayed by the possibility of violence, but our moral and social betters sure seem to generate the desired reaction: cowardly cringing and denunciation of anything that seems like it could possibly be an insult to those nice fellows who like to scream “Allahu akbar” as they blow things up. Maybe they could be taught to behave the same way if a few Jews were to blow up some buildings while screaming “Shalom”.

In all seriousness, Rania Khalek is in dire need of an actual life. One that does not involve a liberal campus enclave. One that includes experiencing the true joys of Sharia law.

“They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” Psalms 83:3-4

The current crop of Jew haters will not succeed anymore than they have in the past. Israel is the only nation that managed to keep a national identity through centuries of diaspora until they got a state again in 1948. They’re there to stay.

Idiots like Dees, Potok, Chucky Shumer and Foxman are actually self hating “Jews” of the synagogue of Satan.

Of course they are answerable to God so they don’t do that.

But count on some libtard to bring up how God gave them the green light to wipe out Caananites and Philistines.

Is Dees Jewish? He, and I, are descendants of Immanuel Dees, who came to Virginia in 1689. There are as many of us as there are McCains, and Lord knows there are those, too numerous to count. I’m actually Anglican, but most of the family since 1740 have been Baptists. He could be a convert, of course, or an atheist. Jewish? Seems unlikely.

Yeah, when liberals start bringing up the Bible, I laugh. Mostly because they’ve never actually read what they’re hyperventilating about, just taking it out of context to prove that the Christian God is a horrible, bloodthirsty being so that must mean Christianity is due to be wiped off the face of the earth. Nevermind that the reason the Jews were told to wipe out certain peoples was because those people were actively plotting to wipe out the Jews.

Heh. I’m reading Victor Navasky’s A Matter of Opinion right now, and just passed a story about their review of a book by an Iraqi dissident in 1993. When the book came out, he received a phone call from Palestinian activist Edward Said, telling him, under no circumstances can you favorably review this work.

Navasky asked Said who he thought should review it, and took that list of names to the Nation’s literary editor, whose choice of reviewers was on that list.

When, surprise, the review came back as a “hatchet-job”, his only response was to make sure it was “fact-checked”. However, their definition of fact-checking did not include making sure that the people hatcheted were in fact the people the reviewer thought they were. They ended up falsely accusing one of the author’s sources of embezzlement (in the billions of dollars) due to a case of mistaken identity. Which resulted in a lawsuit.

Navasky is disappointed that his lawyer forced them to settle, because, as a public figure, lies about the source have to exhibit “malicious intent and reckless disregard”, and Navasky claims that the Nation “had been neither”. Even though, even in his telling of the story, the review had been malicious, and the Nation had been reckless.

ISTR an article in which he claimed to be. If he isn’t, it would not be surprising as he’ s a first class liar. However, if he is the son of a Jewish Woman, then they would consider him such.

Dees is no idiot. He got famous with one lawsuit against the last real Klan organization remaining, and has made a career from scaring donations out of wealthy leftists ever since.

I think he has filed half a dozen other lawsuits in the last 35 years or so, held 500 press conferences, sent out 5000 press releases, and issued 50,000 fundraising appeals.

He’s evil and petty, but he’s no idiot.

I read some of Khalek’s Twitter timeline yesterday, after she began harassing Adkins. She’s a nasty piece of work, it’s disturbing. And her friends are just like her.

I expect to hear that sort of crap from a crazed fanatical follower of the Ayatollahs or Muslim Brotherhood or al Qaeda. It makes me sad and angry that people who enjoy the blessings of American freedom spout such murderous hate, though.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the bitch blew herself up assembling a bomb. But I’d drink to it.

He’s an idiot in the sense that he thinks he fool us. That doesn’t mean he is not cunning or evil. At present he doesn’t really need to fool us. Eventually, however, houses of cards fall.

Part stridency of youth, part woeful ignorance of human history. The smug, self-satisfaction of these types reminds of toddlers the first time they go to the bathroom by themselves. They act as though they’re the first ones ever to do it.

While it is certainly intellectually possible to not be anti-Semitic but still be opposed to Israel’s policies, in my many years of debating with people on this subject, I have yet to find a single person who supported the Palestinians who din’t turn out to be at least subtly anti-Semitic.

What is Rania Khalek’s relationship with Huma Abedin? Anti-zionist and anti-semitc groups have very incestuous relationships with each other. Abedin was Hillary’s link to the Muslim Brotherhood and permitted her to closely coordinate the anti-Mohammed-incites-violence during the botched kidnapping of Ambassador Stevens. Muslim Brotherhood & Sisterhood, Hamas, PA – all funded by Saudi princes buying their way into paradise and linked to Hillary Clinton via Abedin. Is Khalek another Clintonista?
