#RapeCulture as Propaganda

Wendy McElroy at the Future of Freedom Foundation:
The idea that America is a rape culture is a particularly vicious big lie, because it brands all men as rapists or rape facilitators. This lie has been successful despite reality. The rate of actual rape is declining. The crime is severely punished, and even an accusation can ruin lives; men who rape are reviled; the social messages on rape delivered regularly to young men are the opposite of encouragement.
Nevertheless, in January 2014, the White House Council on Women and Girls issued a report that stated, “1 in 5 women has been sexually assaulted while in college” . . . A key reason for this amazingly high statistic is that the report significantly expands the definition of rape, and it counts every accusation as true. Since then, the “1 in 5” statistic has gained legs in the media and been used as proof that we live in a rape culture. . . .
Read the whole thing. The whole “rape culture” discourse is about demonizing critics of feminism, an ideology that is anti-male and anti-heterosexual. None of those ranting about “rape culture” are interested in discussing sex crimes committed by women or homosexuals. Feminists especially tend to become hysterical if you call their attention to the existence of lesbian sex offenders.
“Rape culture” is about fomenting a sense of grievance which will empower feminists to silence opposition.

I think it’s German psychologist Albert Wundt, supposed to be one of the supposed “fathers” of experimental psychology–in his early years he hypnotized female medical students into an experience of being raped. He then gave them a post hypnotic suggestion to forget the hypnosis. He later found that their subjective responses were indistinguishable from women who had actually been raped. The current false memory material applicable to both males and females where therapists believed implicitly that any distress in their clients was absolutely due to abuse and it was their appointed task to find it, backs up this finding.

We have a “structural rape culture” in this country just like our unseen but pernicious “structural racism.” Inventions of pointy-headed liberals with too much time on their hands and axes to grind.

If there were such a thing as “rape culture” on college campuses, one would expect to see it in spades at those universities with a disproportionate ration of males to females, i.e. STEM universities. Yet, at a recent presentation at the university my son will be attending, the chief of the campus police indicated that the worst on campus crime they’d investigated in the last 36 months was a theft of a laptop computer. In the college town itself, there were four sexual assaults, none of which involved a student at the university. Perhaps the reason for this is that the students are too busy studying math, physics and engineering to learn about morphing an offer to buy a girl a drink at a local watering hole into an horrific, traumatizing sexual assault.
(I know, I know. The absence of reported evidence of sexual assault is evidence of rampant abuse, just like the absence of evidence of global warming is evidence of global climate change.)

Why, why, why, you can’t write this! You’re defending rape! http://laopencarry.org/forum/images/smilies/sarcasm.gif

Speaking of sex & culture, I’d rather the consequences of transgression be less harsh than the boundaries of “the acceptable straight male” and “the acceptable straight female” be expanded to include more people who are currently seen as transgressors. I want room for lots of strange sexual flowers, some female, some male, some hermaphroditic… some gay some straight some bi and some totally whimsical.
And to the terminally dim to save you from the effort of asking me this question — No I Do Not Therefore Think That It Is Okay To Have Sex With Children Or To Otherwise Rape Anybody For That Matter. Do not pester me with your stupidity it is not my problem.

“I know, I know. The absence of reported evidence of sexual assault is evidence of rampant abuse”
RS – That’s because it’s a “structural rape culture.” Even if we can’t see it, we still JUST KNOW it’s there!

The whole issue of propaganda has been getting questioned for decades – and one of the best critiques is by Heather MacDonald 2008 – The Campus Rape Myth
The reality: bogus statistics, feminist victimology, and university-approved sex toys –

Brilliant! Let the transgressors set their own penalties.
Why did we not think of that earlier? Facepalm.

It hurt just to watch the demonstration.

What is so hilarious to me is that the stupid bints who believe this propaganda, along with their Metrosexual male friends, are being played for suckers by the Stalinist-Maoist Cell of the Left Wing.

We must take their statistics as gospel.
Therefore, regardless of how fast I read (and I humbly suggest I read faster than your typical feminist), I was probl’y raped a couple times while reading this.

Sending a text message like, “What kind of panties are you wearing?” doesn’t qualify as rape. Rude is not rape. BTW, the usual answer for this at Barnhardt is, the same ones I was wearing yesterday, why?

Sounds like a religious belief, doesn’t it?
April 7th, 2014 @ 8:07 pm
Apparently, these are a thing in southern Africa—an entire region with a very real and severe “rape culture”!

This sounds a lot like the people who claim the LDS church not only facilitates sexual assault, it encourages it. Nothing like labeling an entire religious body as either rapists or rape enablers. Yes I know at least one fruitcake who believes that. I’d say it’s even worse than feminists because feminists generally just assume the men are the “bad people”; with my former friend, as a woman I’m included in the whole rape enabler side (she kept trying to say that’s not what she said, but I’m just not that stupid).
If these people wanted to have any sort of serious discussion about “rape culture” they’d be talking about Islam as a whole, every country it has a significant presence in, and just about any backwards third world country not already included in the previous group. But they don’t want to have a serious discussion; they want to elevate women by stepping on men and the easiest way to do that is to make women fear men and their uncontrollable dangly bits. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t catching on and spreading like the ebola virus Guinea.
At least with ebola, it doesn’t lend itself well to being ignored since it actually kills people outright. Feminism goes after culture and nobody cares.

Dude, nerds don’t rape. Heck, they’re considered unusual if they can even get it up.
