Poor, poor, pitiful Reid. So tired sounding; so burned out by the ongoing effort to do what he thinks is proper, in the face of the Koch machine:
God save us from the endless stream of lies that Harry Reid embodies. Truly, the GOP can retake the Senate merely by playing Harry Reid clips. As Dennis Miller immortally intoned:

The voice. If it’s possible to make Mr. Limpet sound like Demosthenes, Reid does it every time he opens his ashen pie-hole and haltingly forces out that tremulous, pale gray oratory that sounds like it’s oozing from a stuck caulking gun.


Great rant. Too bad Reid’s evil, coupled to Las Vegas in such a pagan fashion, could not be un-elected. People like to blame Sharon Angle, but you really have to blame Nevada for preferring a piece of work like Reid, to the detriment of the country.

    Reid, along with Holder, is the chief enabler of Obama.
    Years ago, when things still mattered, there were three ways to take down a lawless president:
    1) A DoJ that was faithful to its mission could appoint special prosecutors et al. Contrast that to what we know about Holder’s “character.” As part of the executive branch, this was always problematic though.
    2) The media could highlight wrongdoing, forcing a backlash in public opinion that eviscerated a president’s mandate to govern. This gave steel to the spines of the people’s representatives in Congress. Contrast that to the MSM now.
    3) Impeachment and conviction. Impeachment charges were always the easier part; conviction takes a 2/3 vote. Reid might be within his rights as majority leader to simply not allow a vote; I’m not a constitutional scholar.

    Along with this is Reid’s defense of the Democratic status quo by not allowing votes on controversial (read: dangerous to Democrats) bills. This denies information about senators to the very people they represent!

    Let’s also not forget that Reid was the one that enabled Obama to deficit-spend into the trillions by his ILLEGAL refusal to pass a budget for four years.

    Reid should be spending the rest of his life in a prison cell for the damage he’s caused to the country.

    If anything, Dennis Miller is easy on Reid, bypassing the unprecedented tyranny of power he has grabbed as Majority Leader and his history of corruption, cronyism, and self-enrichment in office to a degree which should shock the mob bosses in Vegas.

    It is interesting that the people of Nevada are blamed for Reid, thought to be endangered in 2010. It seems that when a candidate the Purity Police don’t like, such as McCain or Romney, loses, it is all the candidates’ fault. Yet when the self-described “base” stampedes lousy candidates like Angle, O’Donnell, Buck, Joe Miller, Maese, or Mourdock on to the ballot, it’s the people’s fault for not electing those walking disasters.

    Self-righteous piety means never having to say you’re sorry.

    It is unconscionable for the Senate Majority Leader to call out private citizens, by name, as un-American simply for disagreeing with him and spending their own money to say so. This alone should disqualify Reid from his office. But standards are low, as we know.

    And to think that this was on the same day, +/- 1, as Harkin standing on the Senate floor to tout the health care facade of the truly un-American regime in Cuba as tho it ought to be our model. Thank God for Rubio setting the record right on this one.

    The Democrats in the “world’s greatest deliberative body” ought to be ashamed of these two, but of course they have no shame. Most of the Republican senators I’m sure scattered like cockroaches rather than challenge their “good friend from Nevada” and their “good friend from Iowa”.

    He’s such a charismatic, attractive figure that Marty Scorsese cast Dick Smothers as him in “Casino”. Technically fictionalized, but still. It was fairly easy. Dickie looks like Harry. Marty just told him to be himself, except, you know, a charmless ass.

    I’m amused that a Democratic Party that supposedly is so astute about crafting its image lets that guy be Senate Majority Leader. And I’m downright amazed that that supremely image-conscious denomination headquartered in Salt Lake City, which actually has so many good, decent, winsome people among its devout members, lets that guy be its highest-ranking (in his lay capacity) public face.

    If by “win” you mean convince you, then I know I would never “win.” It’s like many things you’ve asserted in posts here. You have an opinion and no one will shake you from it, no matter what facts are adduced and presented.

    Evil perpetrated by humans has always been attached to a belief system. If you reject that, and you seem to, then all I can say is you aren’t very observant. But, I’ve said that a number of times to you.

    You know the old saying how you can’t point without having three fingers point back at you? It really applies here. Whatever evil you ascribe to whatever belief system, you can’t do it without opening Christianity up to the same criticisms. There have been terrible things done in the name of Christianity.

    On the other hand, most individual Christians are fairly decent people.

    Here’s the dirty little secret that you’re avoiding. The evil is not in a belief system. That’s the excuse, not the reason. No book has ever committed genocide. No song has ever burned someone alive. No long lost chant has ever raped.

    It’s people who speak and people who act. It’s people who do good, and people who do evil.
