ObamaCare’s Compulsory Race Question

Posted on | February 7, 2014 | 64 Comments

You can’t see a doctor now unless you fill out a questionnaire about race and ethnicity, and Maetenloch comments at AOSHQ:

“Thanks Obama and Congress. These days
I always put myself down as ‘Mixed’ since
a) it’s true in the larger sense and
b) it fucks up all their statistics.”

Heh. If there is an option of fill-in-the-blank for “Other,” I would suggest writing in some archaic category: “Sumerian,” “Hittite,” “Hun,” “Hottentot,” “Creole” or “Octaroon.” As for myself, I’m pretty sure “Celto-Hibernian” or “Appalachian-American” would do.

Note to regular readers: Please excuse the paucity of routine blogging the past two days. Ever since Wednesday, when I began whacking that commie punk Jesse Myerson upside the head, I keep finding new reasons to maintain the momentum of the assault. His choice to reply with insulting sarcasm inevitably requires me to expose his ignorant folly with utmost ruthlessness. So I must beg for your patience, as I’ve been busy rooting around in the Marxist classics — e.g., “The Victory of the Counter-Revolution in Vienna” — for materials necessary to the next crushing onslaught of this brutal campaign.

Here’s a question: Will the data obtained be used to set either quotas of any kind regarding access to treatment and/or payment rates for medical providers? In other words, what happens when the powers that be decide certain groups are being over- or under-served? What if a doctor’s patients screw too far toward one group or another? There are any number of ways this data can be used and none of them are good.

Doctors get paid because I pay them.

Also, staff should have at least pointed out this patient did not have to reveal or invent a race to suit anyone, even His Royal O himself, let alone the insurer. Play ball with Ocare? Don’t make bad threats. “Here is where you can opt out.” There is a line where a patient can decline to provide his race or ethnicity.

A Doc who would threaten me like that or his staff in his place would see me walk out the door.

What is my nation, man? Who speaks of my nation?

One of the bigger truly true facts about Obamacare is “You do not have a right to privacy.” Since information is a valuable commodity, how much money is Obama’s cronies forking over to his lieutenants for access to your information?

The Left undermined the legal basis of Roe v. Wade, but the GOP won’t capitalize on that to tear the Professional Feminists away from the Dems.

At least there are plenty of obscure options? Seriously look at that document, there’s Spanish Basque and Asturian. Why the government would be interested in which province of Spain one identifies with, who knows? But if I ever get one of these I think I will pick one that correlates with one of my favorite short piano pieces by Granados or de Falla.

Weirdly enough my city’s parks and recreation department now makes a survey on racial identification *mandatory* for kids signing up for like, ballet or swimming or painting classes now. Aren’t they opening themselves up to discrimination suits? How can they argue that it is vital to know if a kid is Basque or Tyrolean before they start tap class?

Shorter version: I might be a moron. Wait, I can’t admit that, I’m supposed to be better than them. Oh, noes, what if it isn’t true? I’d better run back to my fellow crazies to reinforce what I “know”.

And that one’s just the Federal one; some of the states have different options.

In Hampton, it was never “North Carolina,” just “Carolina.”

If that were to happen, that would be tragic beyond words.
