The IRS Scandal Cover-Up

Posted on | January 14, 2014 | 20 Comments

Use of the Internal Revenue Service to harass the President’s political Enemies List? That’s not a crime. Entrusting investigation of the IRS scandal to Attorney General Eric Holder? Nothing suspicious about that. Most Transparent Administration in History™!

The DOJ lawyer who’s heading the investigation is an Obama donor and the FBI, after seven months of supposedly investigating this, only recently contacted tea-party groups targeted by the IRS. But other than that, everything here seems legit.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

But Chris Christie’s “Bridge Gate” is the biggest scandal to hit American politics since Watergate.

    Look…Squirrel.

And sources are already stating that there is almost no likelihood that criminal charges will be forthcoming.

    It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up.

Children, can you say no oversight, no rule of law, no justice and look….shiny things. Tell me again why someone held in contempt of Congress is still entrusted with any damn thing, much less a critical investigation?

And p.s. since when did serious crimes and abuses of power get downgraded to “scandals”. This administration is making Nixon look like a choir boy.

Fat Boy gets to live the Scorpion and Frog parable. Guess who is the frog? The twist in this story is the scorpion survives, thanks to a rope from the lamestream media.

I get the distinct feeling that no matter what this Administration does, no criminal charges will be forthcoming until February 2017 at the earliest.

It’s the courtier media at work.

Question: How is our government considered “the lawful government of the United States” when it consistently breaks the law?

It is no longer a legitimate government.

Levin was just on a rant once again about our post constitutional government and he’s exactly right.

Someone counted, and there were more stories in the major media on Christie and the bridge in one week than had been on the IRS scandal since it broke.

It’s not enough to replace the political leadership at IRS, although that couldn’t be bad. The place is run by career managers and administrators, nearly all of whom are Democrats. The vast majority of the clerical workers are members of one union, which is of course also rabidly partisan Democratic.

A total house cleaning is required. A simplified flat tax would eliminate the need for most of them, and if the same applied to corporate earnings we could get rid of the thousands of “resident” agents at all major companies, cutting costs even more.

Of course, after that, you would have to consider the benefits of doing the same for EPA. And since they’ll never let us hang all the traitors at Foggy Bottom, let’s do State, too.

And what do they do at Education? Axe ’em. Is HUD still around? Zero ’em out. We’d have to keep the Census Bureau at Commerce, and the Nuke guys at Energy, but the rest of them seem perfectly expendable, too.

Did they say cutting government spending was hard? Not if you get rid of the Democrats first.

That’s a rule for Republicans. MSM views Democratic cover-ups as “fair and impartial investigations.”

Assume that the U.S. Constitution is a compact.

The citizens grant power to government in return for protecting certain rights.

Is that compact still valid if the government doesn’t do it’s part?
