‘Love,’ Celebrity Style

Posted on | January 9, 2014 | 26 Comments

Having never watched the TV show Burn Notice, I previously had no idea who Seth Peterson is. However, the 43-year-old actor has recently abandoned his 39-year-old wife — who is seven months pregnant with their third child — for a 23-year-old nobody named Miranda Doerfler.

Any 23-year-old woman who would have an affair with a 43-year-old married father is a woman every bit as despicable as the man who would pursue such an affair. Seth and Miranda therefore deserve each other, and here’s to hoping nothing good happens to them, ever.

W.C. Fields on women: “I’d rather have two twenty year olds than one forty year old.”

But then, Fields was 1) a comedian doing comedy, 2) a notorious misanthrope, and 3) a drunk.

But the important thing is that he is being himself and becoming the real Seth rather than living a lie that was obviously his marriage.

Commitment and self discipline mean nothing to the left. As long as you feel good about yourself. That’s what counts.

Welcome, Seth and Miranda, to the Douchebag Collective. Your qualifications are impeccable…

    The article says he’s 48, not 43.

He’s an actor. What do you expect?

Before the middle of the 20th century, actors and musicians were seen as lower-class. They were thought of as 1 step above prostitutes and criminals.

Maybe we should learn from history.

Having caught a few episodes on Netflix, the star is Jeffery Donovan. Seth Peterson plays the role of his stupid brother who’s always getting himself into some kind of scrape with nefarious characters by trying to run “get rich quick” scams on the wrong people.

I was surprised at the few images of this young woman, most of them are “selfies,” because I figured she was an actress. Turns out, she’s a “horror” writer – of “graphic novels” (the high-toned modern name for comic books).

This is a case of “the package is clearly labeled.” If he did it to his wife, baby, he’s bound to do it to you.

I was in a discussion about 10 years with the Clerk of Courts who had mentioned that a woman had complained about her husband cheating on her. Turned out the woman complaining had be the “other woman” for him when he was “married” to another. I told her “What did she expect? Did she really expect he wouldn’t do it to her if he would do it to first wife with her.” The clerk looked at me and after an short interval for thought said, “I never thought of it that way.” Too often, women don’t think these things out.

If my wife were out of the picture I couldn’t do anything like taking up with a woman 20 years younger than me. It’s too much like dating your daughter. I’d much rather have a woman that knows something about life and how it should be lived.

Often the woman is attracted not only to the man but to the idea that she is “rescuing” him from his mundane life. She never imagines that life with her will be something mundane to be rescued from by a different woman. There is also a good amount of feminine jealousy and oneupladyship involved, no doubt.

AMEN! The very reason I waited until after 40 to wed … and married an older woman to boot!

There’s nothing wrong with two young people marrying and exploring life together. It’s actually kind of fun, if you realize that sometimes it’s not wine and roses.

Witness our current admin for proof. They studied and studied every totalitarian state and dictator in history, learning how to implement the ‘perfect’ state. Sadly, that’s when they stopped reading, never realizing the ultimate outcomes …

Exactly. It’s like going on vacation.

You’ve got “life” with jobs and work and taking out the trash and dealing with kids and fighting about money and no end to stuff that’s not at all fun.

And then you’ve got a vacation, no worries and no cares.

But if you up and move to your vacation spot?

Well, then you’ve got jobs and work and taking out the trash and dealing with kids and fighting about money and no end to stuff that’s not at all fun.

According to IMDB he was born in 1970. Someone either can’t type, or was trying to read some illegible handwriting.

The last 22 year old who wrote anything worth reading was John Keats, and he died at 23.

A young acquaintance is the “other woman” right now. She already broke up her own marriage and her young child is shared. Her paramour is older, successful, and separated – but has fake-reconciled with his wife repeatedly over at least three years (that I am aware of).

They NEVER get it. I asked her, “If he does eventually leave her and marry you, what will happen when you are [her] age and another younger woman comes along?” Might as well talk to a wall. “It’s love” – “we are not like the rest” – etc.

They all believe the cliches until reality eventually slaps them in the face.

Ya know, when married men have hit on me and spewed the usual dreck about their boring marriages, my response has been that I don’t expect to be treated any better than the woman he’s being disloyal to. They’ve then told me that I lack self-confidence. (What’s the theory? If I were really confident in my charms, I would believe in my ability to accomplish what his own wife failed to accomplish?)

Either way, she’s a fool – a poor fool who is about fifteen years away from getting chucked for the next young thing.
