Two Words You Probably Never Want to Think About: ‘Botched Vasectomy’

Also, “shooting rampage”:

Newly released 911 tapes reveal what the Reno, Nev., hospital shooter apparently told trapped patients and employees as he terrorized a medical office, killing one doctor and wounding two other people before taking his own life last week.
His apparent reason for the rampage? A vasectomy he said wrecked his life.
One man hiding in a bathroom with 10 other people told a 911 operator that the gunman was “pissed off because he had a vasectomy here and it ruined his life. … He says, ‘As long as you’re a patient you can leave; otherwise, I’m going to shoot you.’ ”

There were warning signs:

The California man accused of fatally shooting a urology doctor and injuring two others at a Reno medical office has spent three years struggling with ailments resulting from a botched vasectomy, according to his messages on a Yahoo support group and a law enforcement investigation.
Reno police confirmed [Dec. 19] that 51-year-old Alan Oliver Frazier’s focus during the shooting was the doctors at Urology Nevada. . . .
Frazier told the online Vasectomy Pain group on Aug. 25, 2012 that his post-vasectomy pain, or PVP, “was like I got run over by a truck.” . . .
“Yes, yet another victim of an inhumane medical procedure from hell,” Frazier said in his first post on Aug. 11, 2012.

Of course: He’s a victim, which is why he had to shoot three people before committing suicide. And I’m not saying this is an argument against vasectomy, per se, because I’m sure severe complications like Frazier’s are rare, but on the other hand:

  1. Nobody’s getting anywhere near my scrotum with a knife;
    and
  2. If you decide to undergo “an inhumane medical procedure from hell,” you’ve got to be prepared to deal with it.

Stacy: If abortions of innocent children are okay, why not retroactive ones of babies who grow up to offend us in some way? Goes with your immediately preceding post. Maybe we should have a reality show depicting that.

It’s the victimhood mentality that is disturbing: “Something bad happened to me and, despite whatever measure of this was the result of my own choices, I’m going to inflict my rage on the world.”

You mean you expect people to actually take responsibility for their own acts? That is crazy talk!

Maybe President Barack Obama should go on TV and admit that Obamacare was mistake and he shouldn’t be punished for birthing that monstrosity.

At least, this “victim” didn’t make himself a burden on society. He took out the progenitors of his victim status and exited .. all on his own.

A couple of things stand out to the nurse in me:

1.) Vasectomies are always, Always, ALWAYS voluntary procedures. Nobody forces somebody to have a vasectomy, and nobody is going to die if they don’t have one.

2.) Vasectomies are Birth Control procedures. A man has a vasectomy because he is having sex with a woman who is capable of becoming pregnant, and he wants to prevent a pregnancy.

Point of Order here; the Assailant was FIFTY-ONE years old. His wife (or girlfriend(s)) would have to be at least 10-15 years younger — if not younger yet!!!

    Eeeeeewwwwwwww . . . . just . . . .Eeeewwww!

So he’s a dirty old man shacking up with younger honeys who’s mad because his niblets hurt during his icky sex with much younger women.

Okay. Got it. Just don’t expect any sympathy from me here.

    (Did I mention here . . . .Eeeewwwww!)

So you would have a serious problem with a man of 30, the age of Joseph, marrying a woman of 16, the age of Mary?
here is a simple fact. many men have a vascetomy at a later age to prevent getting a wife who is nearing menopause from becoming pregnant. Women can get pregnant well into their 50’s, but after age 42 there is a serious increase in the risk of birth defects and problems which a couple might want to avoid.

Actually, I did a little research first. It could be worse though, According to Wiki, Joseph was closer to 90 and Mary was twelve or thirteen. There, does that make your little heart better?
