Operation Rescue has concluded an exhaustive survey of abortion clinics in the U.S. and is pleased to announce that it has documented a record number of abortion clinic closures in 2013, during which time 87 surgical abortion clinics halted abortions.

Spain’s conservative government has approved an abortion law that rolls back current legislation permitting the procedure without restrictions until the 14th week.

The law needs to pass the Cortes, but since the Popular Party has a majority there, it’s pretty much a done deal. Of particular interest is that the law will once again require 16 and 17-year-old girls to get their parents’ permission.


It’s easy to grow despondent when looking at the culture war and seeing how many things are now considered normal that were regarded as unspeakably obscene and even insane just forty years ago. As Jerry Pournelle reminds us, though, despair is a sin. The bad guys don’t always win and the good guys don’t always lose. If the Spaniards can roll back the Culture of Death, so can we – one shuttered abortion clinic at a time.

    The saddest part of the entire discussion is how many self proclaimed pro-life advocates are merely PLINO’s.

    Pro-Life In Name Only.

    God calls all of the faithful to be defenders of life, sadly, only 2% of us answer the call.

    This only changes with a change in people’s hearts. And that takes persuasion. People change and they can change for the better. Rarely do people start out pro life and go pro choice, it is usually a transformation the other way. Not everyone is in the same place, but the goal is to move in the right direction.

    In order to move in the right direction, you have to first identify the problem.

    Churches spend more money on yard care than they do a year on pro-life support.

    If you are a fisherman, you fish.

    If you are a football player, you play football.

    If you are a hunter, you hunt.

    If you are a bowler you bowl.

    In America, if you claim to be pro-life you put a bumper sticker on your car and maybe, just maybe go to just one prayer vigil or march per year.

    43% of proclaiming Evangelical church attending women of child bearing years have had at least one abortion.

    My question, when is the last time you heard an actual sermon on abortion from the pulpit at your house of worship?

    You’d be utterly amazed at the numbers of people who help, in their own small ways. A few years ago, in my small”pro-choice” church, (for other reasons, now my former church) I was able to raise several thousand dollars in support of a young woman who was pregnant and abandoned. Later, when she showed signs of a threatened spontaneous abortion and had to go on bedrest, they signed up to provide meals, and to drive her four-year-old son to a daycare center. How many of these people would have described themselves as prolife? Hard to say. But, they put money where their mouths were, and boots on the ground, when and where they were needed.

    Michael – Thank you so much for proving that even “some” pro-abortion churches recognize the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25:36.

    Sadly, that has nothing to do with being pro-life or ending abortion.

    Your church had a congregant in need and met that need. Praise to the Father for that action on behalf of the needy.

    Is someone took your 1 month old child and disappeared forever, would be thankful for a few thousand dollars, some food, and a few rides in a car? Of course you would be thankful.

    But wouldn’t you really want everyone you knew to do everything possible they could to get your precious child back into you and your wife’s loving arms?

    Please know the above example is for illustrative purposes only, and it was a mere attempt to get you to see the gravity of the situation.
