“Equal rights” sounds so wonderful. Who can be against equality?

Yet as Richard Weaver warned us long ago, Ideas Have Consequences, and the sledgehammer logic of “equal rights” brutally dismantles every common-sense objection. Even the most obvious facts — e.g., boys and girls are different — must therefore be suppressed to conform with The Equality Principle. So . . .

Boys who think they are girls have a “right” to use the girl’s restroom (wait for it) in first grade:

In Colorado, transgender people are allowed by law to access public or workplace restrooms designated for the gender that matches their identity. That was affirmed in June when the Colorado Civil Rights Division ruled that a 6-year-old transgender girl, who was born male, could use the facilities for girls in her Fountain school.

School board member Kathy Svenson objected to this policy and is now being demonized as a hater for her objections.

In October, Kathy Shaidle called attention to this quote from a Think Progress writer: “The reality of transgender people is also a great natural and moral truth.” In the secular gospel of political correctness, prejudice and discrimination are the only sins. This is an idea whose consequences are generally underestimated, although the recent madness at a cathedral in Argentina is a good clue of what lies ahead.

    I say again: it’s Colorado, aka California, the Rockies Edition. This is why one can never allow Californians to move. Once they arrive you can never have nice things again. My state is Oklahoma, and I thank California for being our toilet.
    As a separate point “castration” means removal of the testes (surgically or chemically). It doesn’t mean removal of the penis. That would be a penectomy.

    Yes, you’re right in that the links aren’t all one way. I put them there because there has been some research. Most LBGTwhatever research is at best politically motivated. My links are just there because there has been some research. The research shows some form of self-acceptance in gender reassignment comes from those that you point out: people who are mid-life adults, who have been married and had children. The rest seem to be mentally ill and seek gender reassignment as a form of relief from their mental pains. But, whether midlife adults or mentally ill adults, they aren’t 6 year olds, or children undergoing puberty. And, for those adults who pass through their mid-life crisis, or receive treatment (and thus relief from their illness), there must be a lot of anguish in finding out they’ve mutilated themselves and no on stopped them.
    It goes to a larger trend: Progressives preying on the mentally ill for money, activists for GOTV, and stormtroopers to troll the devoutly religious and conservative. Think Bill Schmalfeldt in a dress. Or don’t, if you’ve eaten recently.

    Its interesting to me that the transgender girl in Colorado (her name is Coy, btw) had been using the girls restroom for more than a year and it was not until the news reported it that an issue was created (where previously, there was none.. not surprisingly).

    I should also point out the absurdity of protesting a first grader using the “wrong bathroom”. Is there a fear that this person is some sort of sexual predator, because.. that kind of thinking should really concern us (as in, seek help you disgusting pervert for thinking any such thing about first graders).

    As for other trans individuals and the need for laws to allow them into Bathroom A over Bathroom B.. Consider how much negativity there is right on this article. Just read through it, without your regular biased ignorance. There are indeed individuals who for whatever reason, do feel with every stitch of their being that they are the opposite sex to the one they were born into, there are individuals who feel with every stitch of their being that they are a mix of sexes, and there are individuals who feel with every stitch of their being that are neither sex or some other variation entirely. And the fact that you choose to not accept that does not make it any less so. Sorry.

    Consider for a moment how different each human is. When I point to “people with blue eyes” or “people with brown hair” or even something as general as “girls”… it is but a generalization that represents a huge amount of variation. And that is how nature is.. it is variety and difference. People act like every aspect of their being is wrapped up in their DNA. Does your DNA tell you which friends to have? Does it tell you when to laugh at a joke? Does it tell you who to marry, or even who you are attracted to? We are complex.. to the nth degree complex.

    I honestly don’t get why it is that people insist on treating the most variable, most complex creations as life itself.. as something defined by a static order of 1s and 0s. It simply is not so.. and never will be. And you know what? We are all better for it.
