Sex and Fear on Campus

Roxeanne Jones is female media executive who also happens to be the mother of a college-age son:
It seems nearly every week, we hear news stories about sexual encounters at parties where everyone is drinking — and a young woman says she was raped, and a young man insists the encounter was consensual.
Make no mistake, no woman — no matter how much she parties — is asking to be raped. But too often when heavy drinking is involved, the meaning of consent can be misconstrued on both sides.
And she does not want her son to be accused:
Never have sex with a girl unless she’s sent you a text that proves the sexual relationship is consensual beforehand. And it’s a good idea to even follow up any sexual encounter with a tasteful text message saying how you both enjoyed being with one another — even if you never plan on hooking up again.
Crazy, I know, but I’ve actually been encouraging my son and his friends to use sexting — minus the lewd photos — to protect themselves from being wrongly accused of rape. Because just as damning text messages and Facebook posts helped convict the high-schoolers in Steubenville of rape, technology can also be used to prove innocence.
As crazy as that advice sounds, the reaction from feminist Melissa McEwan is even crazier — but we expect craziness from her. You may remember McEwan as the John Edwards blogger of “godbag christofascist” infamy. The toxic environment of 21st-century relationships is such, and the world is so full of crazies, that the only really “safe” advice for young people is to avoid sex altogether.

Roxeanne Jones is a bad mother.

Since I was berated as a puritanical, self-righteous Christofascist for merely suggesting the Stubenville rapists got what was coming to them, and was threatened with the wombats hammer for the tone of my post, I wonder what all my detractors have to say now that 4 more indictments have come down.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/11/25/school-superintendent-among-4-charged-in-inquiry-ohio-teen-rape-case/
I was told Lee Stranahan had all the real facts and that everything we thought we knew was wrong, and anyone who believed a rape had occurred was in cahoots with the liberal media.
I guess somehow the Lee (who I admire by the way) didn’t have all of the facts or he could have been more like Carnac the Magnificent and predicted the four additional indictments.
Just wondering…..

FATHERS:
If someone rapes your daughter, don’t be a punk ass bitch and stand idly by waiting for a corrupt system to supposedly “handle” a violent act against your child.
As we say in Texas, some people just need killin….

How about “Never have sex with a girl unless you’re married to her”?
November 27th, 2013 @ 7:25 pm
Film it. Use the feature on one’s phone and video the entire encounter, then upload it and save it. That tactic got one man out of a rape charge (the feminazis were furious he wasn’t sent to prison anyway).
Seriously: film it and present it as evidence of consensual sex. But only if one is charged with rape. It’s not for revenge, or any other purpose, or posting on the internet.
Like the girl who cried wolf too often, the constant redefinition of rape is meant by the feminists to undermine rape, and to make it a normal aspect of human sexuality. And to scam young girls out of their money.

N.B. When humans consume alcohol to excess, it’s only the females of the species which are incapable of making rational decisions. As Althouse pointed out, why is the male the automatic perpetrator in a drunken tango? Why not both, each having taken advantage of the other?
As for Ms. McEwan, given that much of what now constitutes “rape” is purely subjective on the part of the victim, I should think she would applaud taking steps to secure written consent for sexual activities. After all, it is her feminist ilk which has brought us to the point where it is now necessary to employ a pre-coital attorney.

The best advice there is, given that it dovetails with certain injunctions ordained by the Creator.

Waiting until marriage to have sex has a way of weeding out those who only want to use you for their own selfish purposes. An additional benefit is you can see the other person more clearly for who they are.
Funny how that works, eh?

“Good luck finding a virgin, son.”

“I should think she would applaud…’
You’re apparenlty assuming she’s capable of thinking rationally.

I say, “How would you like to be banned for derailing a comment thread?” We’ll throw the obnoxious prick penalty in as a freebie, if you like.
If you can’t control your logorrhea or be minimally polite, we really don’t need you or your attitude around here. Last warning.

“The only really ‘safe’ advice for young people is to avoid sex altogether.”
Damn girl, where have I head that before!
November 27th, 2013 @ 9:14 pm
There’s always the wise advice contained in the Jason & the Scorchers song, “I Really Don’t Want To Know”.
November 27th, 2013 @ 9:24 pm
I can’t argue with that sentiment, but there’s only so much a reasonably intelligent man can filter out before the dots begin to connect themselves. Same goes for the reasonably intelligent non-virgin bride. And I’d advise against being “unequally yoked.” #IYKWIMAITYD

Good flippin lord…the comment section of McEwan’s hissy fit are True Believers that convicted murderer Crystal Magnum was raped. What a toxic bunch!

And can’t these fathers teach their sons not to take drugs every single weeknight and weekend till their brains are all blown out? (alcohol IS a major drug!)
American society is so corrupt that it’s incapable of seeing just how shoddy it’s idea of “normal” is
November 28th, 2013 @ 2:00 am
I can understand the Melissa crowd is very angry, but I still think it’s sad that they use the F-word in every sentence…

Marriage has lost a lot of meaning to this generation. And so have they lost a view of sex that has depth and requires a commited relationship first and foremost.
Everything that is sexually perverted and cheap is being normalized very rapidly in “liberal” democracies: promiscuity, porn, homosexuality.
An increasing number of Americans is too stupid to realize that you don’t solve perverted sexualities and attitudes about sex by calling them normal.
November 28th, 2013 @ 2:08 am
What do we have here? A society that thinks that constantly taking drugs, especially for young people, is “normal,” and a society that thinks that having sex like pigs and dogs is “normal.”
“Get consent through texting?” Take the beam out of your eye and see what a garbage of a society you have made with all your liberal ideas about sex and sexuality.
November 28th, 2013 @ 8:27 am
Always good to see wisdom from Alessandra. Marriage first started losing its meaning with the sexual revolution in the 1960’s and on major nail in the coffin was no fault divorce. Throw in a dash of government subsidies, a sprinkle of birth control pills, and then a heaping serving of the abandonment of Christianity and marriage as it was intended is dead for the ages.
November 28th, 2013 @ 9:22 am
I think a better bit of advice is: If she’s good enough for sex she’s good enough for marriage hold off until that ring is on her finger.
November 28th, 2013 @ 9:31 am
With respect to the advice so far, I kind of liked ChrisDavis2011’s “Don’t be a punk-ass bitch,” since it is more general strategic principle than specific strategy, and hence more valuable.
November 28th, 2013 @ 9:33 am
Now THAT’S funny!

Not really all that related, but few things along those lines are funnier than:
Yo mama is phat.

I started to read the McEwan piece, but I could not get past the fourth or fifth f-bomb (which was in the 2d sentence?). Melissa McEwan supposedly lives somewhere around Chicago. Noodling around a bit, I see there is a Melissa McEwan once resident in Porter County, Indiana and ‘ere that resident in Chicago. If this be spot on, the individual in question is 39 years old. Vulgarity on that scale is unattractive any time and any place, but imagine you had sired someone given to it on the cusp of middle age.

Amanda Marcotte wrote posts contemptuously anathematizing those three young men after Nifong and Mangum had been bagged and stuffed by the men’s attorneys with the assistance of KC Johnson. Gives you pause to wonder about the prog mind insasmuch as one of their most prominent bloggers is either given to uttering vitriolic remarks about subjects on which she is utterly uninformed or just simply a malicious lunatic who needs to be kept away from decent people.
November 28th, 2013 @ 11:22 am
The only good advice is to avoid sex before “I Do.” It’s also the moral and best thing to do anyway.
November 28th, 2013 @ 2:57 pm
When I was growing up “good girls” waited until married, boys would do well to follow the same advice, it hurts no one
November 28th, 2013 @ 3:13 pm
Most folks assume hatred is rational. It is anything but. McEwan and Marcotte hate, their readers hate, and there’s not a drop of rationality in the bunch.
November 28th, 2013 @ 4:35 pm
Please sir, may I have one more bowl of comment?
I may be the first person banned from TOM for merely following the motto pasted at the top of the page:
“One should either write ruthlessly what one believes to be the truth, or else shut up.” — Arthur Koestler
I guess the question lies in how you define ruthless…..
If Oxford is correct:
Syllabification: (ruth·less)
Pronunciation: /?ro?oTHl?s/
having or showing no pity or compassion for others
November 29th, 2013 @ 9:38 am
That motto isn’t a description of the comments policy. It’s a description of the bloggers’ policy. Do you have any questions on this block of instruction?
November 29th, 2013 @ 7:41 pm
Indeed. They’re kind of hatred is also known by the name: Nihilism.
