Remember Those Official Unemployment Numbers? They Just Made ‘Em Up!

Ace of Spades pointed this out last night: Last year, when we were told that unemployment statistics indicated that the economy was improving, the people in charge of doing the counting were simply making up numbers, according to the New York Post.

But what difference, at this point, does it make?

    If this was deliberate by the administration (they brought census under direct control of the White House) that’s bad. What could be worse is that this similar to the IRS – that lower-level “career” employees misused their positions without prompting.

    When a Republican gains The Office there needs to be a purge, root and branch throughout the various bureaucracies and a change in the civil-service rules to prevent this politicization.

    No, the politicians say that lower-level “career” employees misused their positions without prompting.

    Of course, I can see why some might do just that: when you have a candidate who wants to expand the government and another who says he wants to contract it, the civil servants have a vested interest in supporting the guy who wants larger government, to keep their jobs safe.

    In the Star Trek universe, the Romulan Star Empire has endured for centuries as a violent dictatorship built on lies, but that is just fiction. In the real world, lies destroy the trust required for civilization to function. So far, the liars have prospered and gotten away with it, but as surely as day follows night, consequences are coming. They are destroying the trust of the entire world, not just the American people. That’s important when we want to use the rest of the world to fund our out-of-control spending. If they decide they can’t trust anything our government says, why will they give us their money and trust us to pay the interest? The day that happens, the party’s over.

    There isn’t a single economic number used by the Imperious Leader’s administration that can be verified with an independent source.

    Obviously politicos lie, but I don’t think there is any other President who acted as if his decrees change reality.

    If you click here, you can kinda get a clearer picture of the actual unemployment rate countrywide. It being a gubmint run site, I still don’t entirely trust it.

    Professor Reynolds thinks Obama will end up with an asterisk on his second term. Considering IRS interference/intimidation of opponents, false numbers on unemployment, Benghazi cover-up, and avoidance of working on their health care apparatus for fear of details becoming public, it is clear his team had fraudulent intent.
