Police Seek Drug Trafficking Network Inside New Mexico Man’s Rectum

Posted on | November 5, 2013 | 110 Comments

A guy named David Eckert of Deming, New Mexico, was suspected of concealing an entire drug cartel in his colon. Or maybe he just ran a stop sign and some cops with nothing better to do decided they had probable cause to get all up into David Eckert’s ass:

Eckert’s attorney, Shannon Kennedy, said in an interview with KOB that after law enforcement asked him to step out of the vehicle, he appeared to be clenching his buttocks. Law enforcement thought that was probable cause to suspect that Eckert was hiding narcotics in his anal cavity. While officers detained Eckert, they secured a search warrant from a judge that allowed for an anal cavity search. . . .
Eckert was subjected to repeated and humiliating forced medical procedures. A review of Eckert’s medical records, which he released to KOB, and details in the lawsuit show the following happened:
1. Eckert’s abdominal area was x-rayed; no narcotics were found.
2. Doctors then performed an exam of Eckert’s anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.
3. Doctors performed a second exam of Eckert’s anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.
4. Doctors penetrated Eckert’s anus to insert an enema. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
5. Doctors penetrated Eckert’s anus to insert an enema a second time. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
6. Doctors penetrated Eckert’s anus to insert an enema a third time. Eckert was forced to defecate in front of doctors and police officers. Eckert watched as doctors searched his stool. No narcotics were found.
7. Doctors then x-rayed Eckert again; no narcotics were found.
8. Doctors prepared Eckert for surgery, sedated him, and then performed a colonoscopy where a scope with a camera was inserted into Eckert’s anus, rectum, colon, and large intestines. No narcotics were found.

All because “he appeared to be clenching his buttocks.” Like he was hiding Pablo Escobar and the Cali cartel in his butt or something.

That still wouldn’t be probable cause to do this to him after a search of his car came up empty.

Well, well…more news on this one.

The doctor who refused to do the unethical procedure is willing to testify in court on behalf of the plaintiff. I was right about the plaintiff going after the doctors’ licenses. A malpractice complaint has been filed against both of them with the state board. The dog which “alerted” to drugs, may not actually a certified drug dog…but a police K-9 dog. And it just keeps getting worse.

Eckert’s lawyer is saying that he WAS sent a $6,000 bill for the procedures. However, considering that he filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit…I’m guessing the hospital can deduct it from what they will owe him. Now I say “what they will owe” because apparently all of the defendants in the case are already talking settlement.

RT @snakeoilbaron: I think it might be time to legalize #drugs and criminalize policing.

Turns out that this wasn’t the only time that this happened:

Let’s assume that was the case. And the police actually attempted to leak that story to the press. That Eckert had been muling drugs up his 53 year old bunghole. He denied it, of course.

Herein lies the problem: Even if that were true, there was no probable cause. The warrant was illegal because the search was overly broad and it was conducted in the wrong county. It was also conducted well outside the time-scope indicated in the warrant. So the police broke the law. Flat out. As did the doctors. Which, I suspect, is why there is talk of settlement.

Now that talk of settlement could just be coming from the plaintiff’s attorney. But there haven’t been any denials from the defendants of a pending settlement. And this looks VERY, VERY bad. It looks like forcible rape. All of the individuals involved are under investigation right now. And this is NOT the first time a citizen was taken off the street and forcibly sodomized by law enforcement looking for drugs. And it’s not the first time Gila Hospital helped them do it.

So make of that what you will.

First time I heard that joke I was in college. For some reason it stuck me way funnier than any of my friends. Dont laugh out loud at it anymore, but I still find it amusing. As they say, simple things for simple minds. Like your handle, btw….story of my life, and all that.
