Ron Paul Endorses @KenCuccinelli, @DMataconis Hardest Hit

Via email from the Cuccinelli campaign comes word of Ron Paul’s endorsement:
Ken Cuccinelli has always stood for smaller government and limited government, he has consistently and unapologetically worked with the Liberty movement in Virginia. His stand against ObamaCare shows he is willing to stand up toWashington’s continued abuses on our individual liberties. I am proud to endorse to Ken for Governor of Virginia.
Libertarian and Sarvis supporter Doug Mataconis seems resigned to the current trajectory of the polls:
At the moment, then, this is clearly Terry McAuliffe’s race and, absent some kind of major story that turns things around for Cuccinelli soon, it’s going to be difficult for him to keep the Governor’s mansion in Republican hands in November.
Doug, as far as I can tell, is content with anyone other than Cuccinelli winning next month.
This blogger couldn’t oppose McAuliffe much more without exceeding the bounds of good taste:
.@baseballcrank Don’t you make fun of the Virginia Democrat candidate, who is Hillary Clinton’s chamber pot! That’s an important pot to be!

It’s baffling, given Cuccineeli’s grasp of actual policy issues and support of real Virginians, why anybody would support McAuliffe at all:
You know I have been hearing from folks about their interest in my position on freedom to farm, something I’m quite familiar with, and of course I’m a strong property rights person. I just wanted to let you all know, that I believe traditional pasture-based farms and the local economies they can help are part of a brighter future for Virginia—both for our people and the environment. I support local farmers being freed to process and sell their farm products locally – marked appropriately so consumers know what they are buying.
More at Breitbart.
Cuccinelli for Governor
McAuliffe brings the buffoonery of a Chris Farley flick,
but none of the guffaws.

October 12th, 2013 @ 10:11 am
I think they had a falling out over a wiener.
Ain’t that always the case?
October 12th, 2013 @ 10:38 am
If you listen to voters about what they hate most about politicians and then made a ‘composite’ character from that description you would get Terry McAuliffe yet he leads in the polls over a very capable and hard working politician who understands the issues of the voters.
This is another clear example of what is wrong with America the low info voter, you know morons, ARE the swing voters in elections now. God help us and God help America.
October 12th, 2013 @ 10:45 am
I don’t think Hillary has been pro wiener in a long time.

Hey wasn’t Ron Paul the only other republican to get on the Virginia primary ballot other than Mitt Romney?
Anyone know if Virginia fixed their exclusionary practice for republican primary candidates?
It always dumbfounds me why the electorate waits until a major election to make sure that the primary system isn’t rigged or that the military votes will be counted.
October 12th, 2013 @ 1:44 pm
Yes, he was. Say what you want about the Paulites here in Virginia, but you have to admit they were better organized than a lot of other folks.
October 12th, 2013 @ 1:46 pm
Too bad we can’t go back to a restricted franchise where only property owners can vote, but I guess that would be RAAAAACIST.
October 12th, 2013 @ 2:09 pm
I know right it was brilliant the way Mitt Romney totally marginalized them at the RNC convention thus cutting off one of the most organized and motivated okay -okay”committed” factions of the party.
The establishment couldn’t be magnanimous in their win, and bring all the different factions together.
October 12th, 2013 @ 2:35 pm
Yup.
October 12th, 2013 @ 2:42 pm
This—I was going to say man—is vile. Virginians will be walking their floors and singing sad sad songs if they elect this reprobate.
October 12th, 2013 @ 4:03 pm
“I don’t know how any Democrat isn’t embarrassed by the people the party is running for governorships in 2013-14.”
.
Dan, if they haven’t been embarrassed by the Obama Administration, then they are already shameless.
October 12th, 2013 @ 5:28 pm
I can’t say for certain if things have changed (though I recall some talk previously about making it easier), but the candidates for governor, et.al, were picked at the state convention this year. No primary at all.
October 12th, 2013 @ 5:31 pm
I think it’s largely because WAR ON WOMEN. ZOMG didn’t you hear? I think Cuccinelli is going to enslave the women and start farming the axlotl tanks!
October 12th, 2013 @ 5:31 pm
Federal government is the only industry hiring, and that is bringing a lot of folks who are supporters of Obama and Progressivism, and/or being a part of the bureaucracy that is smothering Liberty to NoVA.
October 12th, 2013 @ 6:26 pm
I don’t think they know what “magnanimous” means.
