Is #VVS13 ‘Extremist’? Floyd Corkins Could Not Be Reached for Comment

“This marked the first time that a defendant has been charged with and convicted of committing an act of terrorism under a provision of the District of Columbia’s Anti-Terrorism Act of 2002 . . .
“Corkins targeted the Family Research Council because of its views, including its advocacy against recognition of gay marriage. He entered the building with the intention of shooting and killing as many employees of the organization as he could.”

U.S. Department of Justice

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) spokesman Floyd Lee Corkins II did not issue a statement denouncing this weekend’s Family Research Council (FRC) Value Voter Summit, mainly because Corkins is in federal prison serving 25 years for his Chick-fil-A-inspired attempt to kill everybody at FRC with the guidance of an SPLC “hate map.”

With one murderous deviant lunatic safely behind bars, another flaky weirdo was authorized to speak for the SPLC terrorist gang:

Members of Congress urged to not legitimize
extremism by speaking at Values Voter Summit

A coalition of human rights groups is calling on members of Congress and other public officials not to speak at the upcoming Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., because the event host and its key co-sponsor — the Family Research Council (FRC) and the American Family Association (AFA) — have long records of vilifying the LGBT community and spreading other forms of bigotry.
“Public officials need to know the real ‘values’ they’re endorsing when they attend the Values Voter Summit,” said Heidi Beirich, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project. “Offensive and bigoted lies are not magically transformed into the truth just because a group with the word ‘family’ in its name keeps repeating them.”

Translation: Don’t hang around people we call bigoted extremists, or one of our crazed gay killers might shoot you because . . . tolerance!
