I don’t know if I’d go comparing Atlas Shrugged to Pigford, myself. Rand was far more restrained and delicate when it came to the sex scenes, in contrast to the ~50 trillion shades of green Obama has whipped up these last years.

Only this joke isn’t funny. What will be interesting, going into the election next year, is how many donations are tied to addresses in the settlement list. We should fall short of wondering if the Democrats are using bogus settlements to fund parties. Of a political sort. The presence of questionable settlements and political parties are just dots. Far be it from me to connect them. That would best be done through investigative means.

    Pigford, schmigford! The corruption in the federal government is staggering. Case in point-

    “For the 2011 tax year, the IRS mailed 23,994 refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to ITIN holders who all used the same Atlanta address.”

    This is from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration’s report released earlier this year. Individual Tax Identification Numbers are primarily used for people who are not U.S. citizens but need to file a tax return in the United States. This example is only one of many contained in the report. My own suspicions are that this money is going to be recycled into campaign contributions to the Democratic candidates in the next election cycle.

    The fun thing now is to try and guess exactly what would rise to the level of outrage any more.

    The phony-settlement-cash-for-votes thing would have brought down an Administration in prior years. Now it’s about as likely to be noticed by the world at large as would the discovery of a dead horse near the trenches at Verdun in 1916.
