Deranged Cyberstalker Bill Schmalfeldt: Often Wrong, But Never in Doubt

New Current Events Podcasts with Ali A Akbar on BlogTalkRadio

Last night, Ali and I did a podcast that began with a half-hour on the Washington Navy Yard shootings and then continued on for another hour-and-a-half about the continuing madness of Bill Schmalfeldt. What we didn’t know what that Schmalfeldt stayed up past his bedtime to listen — and fulminate with rage, which John Hoge chronicles.

Fulminating with rage is Bill Schmalfeldt’s modus operandi. Here’s a Facebook threat he sent to a woman in 2011:

“Now . . . you’re going to wind up being the Monica Lewinsky for Jeremy’s Bill Clinton unless you start telling the truth and start telling it quick. I’m done fucking around, and I am not going away. You’ve already had “the media’s” interest in this case explained to you. Now, do you wanna play dumb and lose your kids? Or do you wanna play smart and keep what you got? I am not making any threats. I am just trying to help you avoid a shit storm for some giggling fuck who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you. Do you really want to be dragged through the mud for THIS giggling shitwit. I’ll wait to hear from you. But I send what I have … EVERYTHING … to the Wisconsin Media tomorrow.”

Is a person who does things like that rational? The “Jeremy” referenced is apparently Jeremy Ryan of AddictingInfo.org, whom Schmalfeldt described as his “colleague.” In fact, Schmalfedlt contributed exactly three articles at that site, This was during the Wisconsin recall effort and Bill was at war with a conservative Facebook group called “Operation Burn Notice,” and Schmalfeldt was evidently trying to get some information from this woman . . . why? We don’t know.

It was a bit of irrelevant trivia involving a Facebook group and thus Schmalfeldt’s wildly disproportionate wrath — threatening that the woman would “lose your kids” after he sent information to the media — can only be explained as symptomatic of madness.

Is it any wonder Bill got banned from Facebook? And then turned his complaint against Facebook into an 18-minute YouTube video?

Bill Schmalfeldt has a clear pattern of such behavior. Ken White has written a lengthy examination of Schmalfeldt’s threatening rhetoric.

What could possibly justify Bill Schmalfeldt’s threats like that?

Nothing — except perhaps the voices inside Bill’s head.
