Yes, Ma’am, However …

OK, my “SlutWalkDC” photos got zapped — blame Joan of Arc — but a guy named Ted got a photo of me taking a photo.
As for the girl’s poster, it should be the title of a TV series, or maybe a textbook, but it’s at least a T-shirt slogan. However, thinking back to when I was that age, I would tell the young ladies that the boners control the boys more often than the other way around. Knowing this, the best advice for young ladies is BOYS HAVE COOTIES.
Just don’t have anything to do with boys. Keep as far away from them as possible. If it were up to me, we would abolish co-education, and the only time young ladies would be able to meet boys would be at heavily chaperoned dances and such.
But a lot of things would be different it it were up to me, and meanwhile we’re living in an imperfect world where journalists don’t get paid as much as NBA stars, where cameras occasionally malfunction, and young people don’t heed good advice.
Young guys may want to control their boners, but the boner is inherently totalitarian. It’s like Hitler — he says he only wants the Sudetenland, but if you give him Sudetenland, next thing you know, he’ll take the rest of Czechoslovakia, too, and Poland after that.
Young ladies should be less like Neville Chamberlain and more like Winston Churchill: “Never give in . . . in nothing, great or small, large or petty . . . Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
And trust me: Boys have cooties.

Yes. Liberalism is nihilism. I used to be a lib, and I’m fascinated by my former blindness to obvious facts, e.g. RSM’s point about young men and self-control in a “co-ed” culture.

I just said I knew a guy who did that. I do not hang with him.
You never did that…did you?
August 11th, 2013 @ 2:44 pm
No I never did that. And my comment was intended as a joke. I assume you are still a virgin.

I predate vh1 and mtv. Hence the tequila. Makes most girls at least an 8.

Escher sounds like a virgin… an intellectual virgin.

RSM recording for the data base elements of the next generation of grim HR operators busily to run American enterprise into the ground, American equanimity into hysterics and American national security into non-being.

So let me get this straight…liberals believe all of the following, simultaneously: 1) sex is a good thing that should not be fettered by cost, circumstance, criticism or consequence (in fact, I’ve often argued it’s the only “right” liberals actually believe in…all other rights are allowed or opposed to the extent to which they support unfettered sex); 2) as a woman, I have the right to dress how I want, no matter how revealing my outfits may be, in an attempt to assert my sexuality and individual expression; 3) men will be forced to look at me when I venture out in pubic and if they get sexually aroused sex (see #1) is no longer a good thing but must be controlled; 4) but don’t criticize or call me a slut because, feminism and sex (see #1, again) or something.
Talk about having your cake and eating it, too.
I — under no circumstances — believe a woman deserves to be raped or was “asking for it.” I do, however, believe liberals (especially progressive liberal feminists) are gigantic raging hypocrites in matters of sexuality (as they are in most of their politics).
As a woman, I believe my value and worth is not based on how much flesh I reveal or how many men I bang. My value and worth is rooted in how much I respect my body to avoid polluting it with one-night stands (and the risk of STDs and unplanned pregnancies), abortions, and chemical contraceptives (which the WHO classifies as Class One carcinogens). I exert self-control and, you know what, I don’t have to engage in “Slut Walks” to demand others, specifically men, respect me. I RESPECT MYSELF. Men (and women) simply take their cues from how I treat myself (and, of course, them).
Ironically, the ladies engaged in these “Slut Walks” think that *I’m* the problem.

Bowdoin? My brother attended it when it was still all men, 1968-1971.

Exactly.
Leftism: ideas developed in the sterile laboratories of the minds of people who hate Life as it is.

As with most everything else in their lives, these women’s sexual displays are nothing but a reflection of their own anger.

Nope to both of those. A little place called Wabash College.

It’s not having your cake and eating it too, it’s eating your cake and having it too. Dudley Moore, Blake Edwards, Mickey and Maud. And they’re right. Moderns are averse to loss. They can’t process loss. Makes them akin to dinosaurs.

Actually, the women of SlutWalk encourage women to dress in whatever way they feel most comfortable. That INCLUDES “modest” dress. The point of SlutWalk is to say that whether you are wearing a turtleneck or a miniskirt, it is the rapist’s fault for raping you. Sound reasonable enough?
