Obama Keeps Lying; Reporters Don’t Care

Frankly, I don’t know which pisses me off more: Obama’s shameless dishonesty or the White House press corps’ evident indifference to truth. The Obama presidency has been one big lie all along, and by now there is not an honest or intelligent person who believes a word he says, and you might think that White House reporters would be so thoroughly fed up with his reeking bullshit, they would call him on it.

But no, their supine obeisance to the Hope and Change mythology has become so habitual that, even after he has been caught in lie after proven lie, they’re still rolling over like gutless punks.

Based on past experience, every time Obama begins a sentence by saying, “In fact …” or “The truth is …” whatever he says after that is going to be the exact opposite of fact and truth. This is how we now can be certain that the government is listening to our phone calls:

The only time Barack Obama has ever been within arm’s reach of the truth was when he was trying to strangle it with his bare hands. His name should be a synonym for deliberate deception. His presidency is a stain on the White House, and on the nation that elected him.

This Reign of Deceit cannot possibly end soon enough.

    The White House Press Corps doesn’t care about Truth because they havn’t had their ox gored yet. It doesn’t occur to them that if they wait that long, it will be too late to take effective action. First they came for the bitter clingers….

    I’m gonna go with option b.

    J-School, otherwise known as “the festering swamp of hard-left political hacks who suck the curiosity out of kids who wanted to be writers” is the wrong way to create a reporter. Unfortunately, that seems to be all we get anymore.

    See, what angers isn’t just the lack of standards, it’s what they did to those kids to turn them into professional fluffers for The Party Elite. It breaks your heart to see such abuse of young minds.

    As we’ve seen from how Obama treats his enemies, would you want to be a member of the media critical of Obama? In Russia, journalists critical of Putin rather horridly. Obama is a friend and fan of Putin. Rosen almost got nailed for treason, what will happen to the next newsie?

    Ewww, horrible mental image and there’s a lot wrong with that. The press has (had?) a unique freedom and threw it away to worship their messiah instead. Sarah Palin explained this and said it a lot more eloquently.

    But I beg to differ, their ox hasn’t been gored in any significant way. Bob Woodward got a taste of it recently but because of who he is, was able to generate enough pushback to slam the door on that attempt at intimidation. Like DaveO said below, James Rosen nearly got nailed but he’s with Fox so he doesn’t count as a “real journalist” according to the rest of the media sheep.

    When I say “have their ox gored”, I mean coordinated actions like various Tea Party groups felt, using the full weight of the entire government apparatus to harass, intimidate, threaten and ultimately silence. From the government side, THAT hasn’t happened to any of the MSM yet. (It hasn’t been necessary since both the media and government share the same viewpoint on nearly everything.) But a day may come when someone of a different ideological stripe from the MSM and the same thuggish tendencies as the current bunch is in power and who won’t hesitate to shut down their “patriotic dissent”. Truth will matter then. That’s when they’ll discover what a monster they’ve been feeding and it will be too late to bring it to heel.

    I don’t want to see any of that happen. It wouldn’t take much to change course, just some real journalism. They wouldn’t even need to treat the administration like Republicans. Our esteemed host has demonstrated how it’s done with the FreeKate story. It’s not hard. Ask questions, don’t fall for BS, publish the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

    Nixon and LBJ both lied a good bit, and both their Administrations crossed lines and targeted real or perceived opponents in some fashion. But put all their misdeeds together and they cannot stack up to Obama.

    If his war on the offices of the Inspectors General had been conducted a little faster, we might not know of any of this even now. Remember the IG who caught Obama’s pal the Mayor of Sacremento misusing public monies was suspended and labelled a mental case, but others have been dismissed, left vacant, or had their powers stripped or neutralized, enabling a broad-based carte blanche. There is no check or balance on this man, no wonder he can’t believe his situation to be serious.

    If the press cannot bear to bring out the truth of what amounts to a coup de jure, there is no point to any special protections for the press at all.

    Frankly, this scares the sgut out of me. What I get from it is that the transformation of American will be complete sometime within that time frame and he will be moving on to the UN, with unprecedented power over the US.
