Local PFLAG: ‘The Cry of Discrimination …Does Not Seem to Apply’ in Hunt Case

Posted on | May 31, 2013 | 49 Comments

Feb. 16 mug shot of accused sex offender Kaitlyn Ashley Hunt

The local chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) refuses to support accused sex offender Kaitlyn Ashley Hunt:

PFLAG of Vero Beach has received questions and comments regarding the controvery involving the two young ladies in Sebastian.
We have been watching the developments in this case since it was brought to our attention. PFLAG of Vero Beach cannot enter into the controversy for the following reason. We have not been able to find where the charges brought against this unfortunate young lady are inspired by homophobia, or are in any way anti-LGBTQ. . . .
The cry of discrimination, unless more facts come out, does not seem to apply here. Some very simple research yields cases where heterosexual kids have been arrested and prosecuted under the same law.

When this news was reported online Friday by South Florida Gay News, the article was quickly deleted, but the Google cache still exists. Probably this is evidence of the kind of pressures for movement solidarity that were reported earlier this week by a local TV station:

Two local gay men who “held high ranking positions in a Treasure Coast LGBT advocacy group” quit over the issue, according to a report Tuesday by WPEC-TV’s Peter Schaller, who quoted one of the men: “Some folks in the community, in that organization, were supporting Kate and would not hear the voice of reason… . I resigned as a result of two members in particular who referred to this matter as nothing more than a teenage love story, it is not a teenage love story.”

Meanwhile, Kaitlyn Hunt’s attorney has sought and been granted a delay in the case, saying she needs more time to prepare.

UPDATE: Kinda related:

A government website designed for girls ages 10 to 16 offers health advice and information on a wide range of topics, including homosexuality, anal sex and “mutual masturbation.”
The Health and Human Services’ girlshealth.gov includes tips on fitness and nutrition and an “environmental health” section where girls can read about leading a “green” lifestyle. . . .
“Our tagline is ‘Be Happy. Be Healthy. Be You. Beautiful. It focuses on the idea that being yourself — finding what makes you smile and how to live well — is what makes you ‘you.’ And that is beautiful!”

Mr. McCain, I hope you will look into David Moolten’s relationship to this case. He seems to be on every forum typing 3 page letters in support of Kaitlyn Hunt, and spouting a lot of misinformation. Is he part of the PR company hired by the Hunt Family?

Too bad there’s no one in the GOP or the TEA Party who can use this a wedge issue to separate the GLBT community from the pedophiles that control the GLBT agenda.
But at least GOProud isn’t leading the charge to defend the accused rapist and admitted pedophile Kaitlyn Hunt. It isn’t an election year.

But North 10th Street, a boy crouched against a dog
On the kitchen’s stained tiles, his packed bag

That comes closest to fostering love

This development really is fascinating because it is futher evidence of a coordinated national agenda. When Tammy Bruce was the head of the LA chapter of NOW, she wanted to use the OJ case to bring attention to spousal abuse. The national headquarters muzzled her, which was a facto in her moving to the right. She saw that NOW was not about protecting and advocating for women, but part of something bigger, therefore they would not go against the groups on the left rallying around OJ.

What I see here are LGBTs who do not support child predation. Like Bruce, they speak out and are shut down. Which begs the question, are elements within the LGBTS community working hand in glove with groups trying to normalize pedophilia? Kevin Jennings, BO’s former safe schools czar has an interesting background in that regard, which you can read up on over at gatewaypundit. But, of course, this is tin foil hat territory, like the IRS targeting religious groups and conservatives, the government spying on reporters, coverups of the assassination of an ambassador, and running guns to drug cartels. The government would never do that. Oh, wait….

There was a troll commenter on an earlier post — who got zapped by Wombat before I could reply to her idiocy. Her argument included this:

“There has to be a different way to treat these cases. Punish, yes. At 18 ruin all their chances of leading a useful life, no. … Not all states punish offenders like Kate the way Florida does. Kate was not offered a good deal and sex offender registry still loomed as a possibility. … She needs to pay her debt to society but not be burned at the stake of public opinion.”

Well, who was it that decided to appeal this case to the Court of Public Opinion?

Who was it that put up Facebook posts and a Change.org petition that deliberately misrepresented key facts in the case (including the ages of the two girls) and made Kate Hunt’s sterling character — a “model student,” according to her mother — a central part of the argument for leniency?

As I have said before but will say again: This was just a commonplace local cops-and-courts story until Kelley and Steve Hunt decided to turn Precious Kate into a poster girl for the gay-rights movement. By the time I even noticed this story (May 22), there were already more than 200,000 signatures on that “Free Kate” petition, which was crammed full of lies and perforated by omissions of basic facts. If the truth about this case had been known from the beginning — if the Hunt family hadn’t lied, and if liberals hadn’t stupidly repeated their lies — there never would have been a “story” here for me to cover.

Now that I am covering it, I find myself accused of trying to have Kaitlyn Hunt “burned at the stake” when — as anyone can see — it was Kaitlyn and her family who have sown the wind and are now reaping the whirlwind. It was Kaitlyn crime that caused this. It was Kaitlyn’s family’s lies that made it a national story. It was Kaitlyn’s refusal to accept the plea deal that now has her facing a court date for a felony in which her admission of guilt is already a matter of public record.

At every step of the way, Kaitlyn and her family were in control of their own destiny, faced with choices between right and wrong AND THEY DID THE WRONG THING EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Hey, you should have taken the plea deal, sweetheart. Don’t blame me for the consequences.

Liberals are currently viciously burning at the stake any social conservative that does not subscribe to their incorrect theories that homosexuality is normal –

I don’t see what it is that they have anything to complain about any “burning at the stake” here.

What is also disgusting is that for a sizeable portion of liberals, they didn’t care at all about the sexual violation in this case – their major and often only concern was if it had to do with some LGBT not being able to act out their dysfunctional homosexuality somewhere.

The saddest part though is that all these people pushing kids to be sexually active, promiscuous, and disoriented, when not downright perverted, are not going to jail.

They are exactly like drug dealers that peddle to kids – then the kid gets caught and is punished, and nothing happens to the dealer who continues peddling just as before.

In the Hunt family’s defense, it appears they are making money on the deal, at least. And face it, most of the money donated to their slush legal defense fund or spent on “Stop Da Hate, Free Da Kate” merchandise would likely have ended up in some Democratic campaign fund otherwise.

And isn’t it better that they keep their fingers in the wind, or on the pulse of the community, compared to their preferred alternatives?
