The Holiday You Forgot

For reasons unknown, our landlord has decided that inspection of our modest rental abode shall occur the Sunday before Memorial Day, which explains why there has been no #FreeKate update this morning. However, late Saturday night I summarized three days’ worth of breaking developments for readers of The American Spectator:

“The truth is this is not a case of homophobia; it’s a case of a family trying to protect their daughter by using the gay angle of this case to rally sympathy and support from the gay community,” T.J. Askren wrote Wednesday at her Red Treehouse blog. “Kaitlyn Hunt is not a lesbian hero. She is not a gay martyr. … Getting in trouble for finger f*cking your underage girlfriend in the school bathroom is not a noble cause.”
In fact, according to conservative blogger Becca Lower, it may be unfair to lesbians to call Kaitlyn Hunt a lesbian: Her mother said that she had “always dated boys” until beginning her affair with the 14-year-old girl.
The Bisexual Coalition for Teenage Toilet Sex could not be reached for comment.

You can read the whole thing while pitying me — I’m a victim! — for having to attend to the domestic drudgery necessary to prepare for the landlord’s arrival. Or, you could celebrate:

Actually, my love has been requited. A bit too much, perhaps.

    Is twitter being left open to legal action by allowing the hashtag, that represents condoning and promoting sexual child abuse? Does twitter have lawyers on retainer?

    I’d take a closer look at Kaitlyn Hunt’s family. Sexual abuse of minors generally starts close to home.

    There are actually very few “pure” homosexuals.

    I’m willing to bet big money that a very large percent of gays are actually bisexual. Bisexual to me meaning that they have had sexual intercourse or been attracted to the opposite sex more than once.

    If we accept the claims that homosexuality is genetic, then that would be prima facie evidence that what is transmitted is bisexuality not homosexuality.

    No baby no genes. Takes two to make one.

    Then the only argument that gays can justify is; how bisexual are you?

    The mother of the then-14-year-old may not have known about her daughter’s previous same-sex adventures. She certainly wouldn’t be the first– I know women my age that had their fair share of teenage same-sex adventures without their parents ever becoming the wiser.

    This was never about whether anyone is or isn’t gay, Finrod, or what the 14 year old’s parents knew or didn’t know. The age of consent in Florida is 16. She couldn’t consent to sex with an 18 year old, regardless of gender. Period.

    There’s no reason to posit that Homosexuality is genetic. There was a big to-do about discovery of the ghey gene back in the mid 90s. It was quickly debunked and died an undeservedly quiet death. Queers still run on the assumption that queerness is genetic, but they have known better for many years that dawg won’t hunt.

    Kelley Hunt Smith, Kaitlyn’s mother, has said in two articles that she doesn’t think her daughter (or the 14 year old) is gay. Who’s speculating?

    And my point at the beginning was that there are a lot of bisexual and homosexual teenage girls and boys whose parents have no idea that they’re not straight, and it’s been this way for at least twenty years now.

    And if they had any sense they would be glad of it. Having an actual genetic test would make homosexuality extinct within a generation or two. Particularly in Sharia law countries.

    Actually, the possibility of such scared them to death. If you could test for such, many, if not most, would abort the kid and be done with it. They liked queers around and didn’t want to disappear.
