VIDEO: ‘I Don’t Remember’ Who
Targeted Conservatives, Ex-IRS Boss
Testifies in Scandal Hearing
It would be a gross understatement to say that ex-IRS acting commissioner Steven Miller was an uncooperative and unhelpful witness at today’s House Ways and Means Committee hearing. Everything about the IRS scandal can apparently be divided into two categories:
- Things Steven Miller does not know;
and - Things Steven Miller can not remember
Despite this, some actual information got pried loose today:
The hearing’s one clear revelation came when Mr. Miller conceded that the I.R.S.’s apology for targeting was prompted by a question planted by the agency last Friday at an American Bar Association meeting. At that meeting, Lois Lerner, the head of the I.R.S.’s division overseeing tax-exempt organizations, was asked about an inquiry of the targeting issue, eliciting an apology that quickly leaked out of the closed-door session. The I.R.S. then scrambled to issue a formal release on the issue.
Mr. Miller divulged that the exchange was not an impromptu apology but a planned exchange between Ms. Lerner and Celia Roady, a tax attorney at the Washington law firm Morgan Lewis. That revelation only underscored the ham-handed way the scandal has burst into view.
Great: The only questions anybody at the IRS can answer are the questions asked in a “planned exchange” set-up.
Yeah, you’re about to get grilled about a massive #IRS scandal, but don’t bother to bring any NOTES with you for the congressional hearing.

@rsmccain his response apparently would be “I’ll have to get back with you on that, I’m not sure”..

#IRS Nobody knows anything, but if they ever did know anything, they’ve forgotten it by the time they’re called to testify about it.

This IRS bullshit and the AP scandal both seem to be ready made issues to take people’s minds off of Benghazi.

googled Steve Miller audit Clinton got a story by Washington Examiner by Paul Bedard May 14, 2013 Deja vu: IRS boss of Tea Party probes audited anti-Clinton groups in 1990? ( Judical Watch)
Judical Watch has confirmed this and said it cost the a huge amount of money.
So, this guy may be a Clinton mole and the deal of the set up to set this all in motion (IRS scandle) might just be the Clintons going after Obama for him trying to throw Ms Clinton under the Bengazie bus.

I’m going to go ahead and call this testimony a victory for limited government. The power to remember is apparently one power that cannot be accomplished with the Constitutional taxing power.

This guy has had a week to prepare for what are certainly obvious questions. He knew they were coming. Anything he didn’t know or had forgotten, he had plenty of time to find out, find his notes, get the answers.
This isn’t “ignorance” or “forgetfulness” at all – it is, rather, “perjury” and “cover-up.”

So who is above this waste of seed in his chain of command? He should remember that and it ought to narrow the subpoenas down some….

You may be thinking of the woman who was in charge of the tax-exempt unit (the job Lerner has now) and got promoted to the Obamacare unit – she harassed Judicial Watch in the Clinton years.

All Obama needed to say was the IRS were doing their job; looking for tax dodgers. All this stuff started with a data miner’s choice of keywords. If I was given the task, I would of used the same keywords
The blogosphere is a good example of chaos and the butterfly effect. I like the concept that small variations of the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system
BTW – thanks for the a planned exchange between Ms. Lerner and Celia Roady stuff.
