#Gosnell Convicted: Quick Reactions

You probably have to remember the “Doonesbury” cartoon during the Watergate investigation to appreciate the headline here:
GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! viralread.com/2013/05/13/ver… GOSNELL CONVICTED ON 3 MURDER COUNTS – via @viralread #tcot #prolife
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) May 13, 2013
CNN headline:
Doctor found guilty of first-degree murder
in Philadelphia abortion case
Memeorandum thread, and everybody should read Steven Ertelt’s description of the three murder victims:
Baby Boy A was the biggest baby that Kareema Cross had ever seen delivered at Gosnell’s abortion “House of Horrors” clinic in the four years she worked there. He was delivered to 17-year old Shaquana Abrams at 29.4 weeks gestation, according to an ultrasound record. Baby Boy A was so large, he did not fit into the plastic shoe box that Gosnell tossed him in. Cross said she saw the baby pull in his arms and legs while Gosnell explained the movements as “reflexes” telling her the baby really didn’t move prior to cutting the baby’s neck. Baby Boy A was so large, Gosnell joked that “this baby is big enough to walk around with me or walk me to the bus stop.” Cross and fellow employees Adrienne Moton and 15-year old Ashley Baldwin were all so “startled” by the size of the baby that they all took photos of the baby with their cell phones.
Baby C was an intact baby of over 25-weeks gestation. Kareema Cross testified that she saw Baby C breathing and described the up and down chest movements she observed for 20 minutes. She told the court she saw Lynda Williams lift the baby’s arm and watched as the newborn drew it back on its own power. Afterwards, Williams inserted surgical scissors into the baby’s neck and “snipped” the spinal cord. Gosnell was said to be in the room at the time. This baby’s murder charges were unintentionally dismissed in the place of Baby F, but were reinstated after Judge Minehart discovered his error.
Baby D was described by witnesses as 12-15 inches long with the head the size of a “big pancake” when he was delivered into a toilet. Kareema Cross testified that she saw the baby struggling, using swimming motions in an attempt to get out of the toilet bowl. Adrienne Moton pulled the baby out and “snipped” the neck, as Gosnell had taught her to do, while the mother watched. Gosnell has also been charged with Criminal Solicitation of Moton to commit murder of Baby D.
Babies “A,” “C” and “D” — they never had names and we don’t know who the mothers or fathers were. All we know is that Kermit Gosnell murdered them. It was premeditated, “with malice aforethought.” And somewhere covered by those “penumbras and emanations,” liberals think there is a right to kill babies.

@rsmccain @amandamarcotte Let’s be real: #Gosnell did nothing other abortionists don’t do, it’s just that he was much sloppier.

@rsmccainYeh, Mad Mandy condemned Gosnell for not washing up the sink afterwards, that’s about it

You know how liberals like to pretend that all women are in favor of abortion? Those liberals obviously have never met my wife.
My wife’s reaction to #Gosnell verdict: “Now are they going to chop him up into little pieces and suck his brains out?” (She’s #prolife.)

Did you read Planned Parenthood’s message they were happy he was convicted now he couldn’t victimize women anymore…..No mention of the baby’s he murdered the reason he was convicted of 1st degree murder.

Following the verdict in the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, Planned Parenthood released the following statement:
“The jury has punished Kermit Gosnell for his appalling crimes. This verdict will ensure that no woman is victimized by Kermit Gosnell ever again.

I think it is interesting that if you can find a headline about the verdict, it is more likely to contain the short “Verdict Reached” and not be a slightly longer headline mentioning that he was convicted or is guilty.

The Jury does not punish anyone. In some states they woiuld go into a penalty phase and prescribe the punishment, but, at this point, all they’ve done is say he’s as guilty as original sin.
Roll him out in a tumbrel and frog march him up the scaffold. Short rope, long drop, sudden stop, punishment complete.

Typical Planned Victimhood tactics in other words. Now if they execute him, they’ll talk about how the state murdered a “Womens Health Specialist”
May 13th, 2013 @ 6:21 pm
Reading that made me sick.
May 13th, 2013 @ 6:23 pm
They don’t mention the babies because they work for Planned Parenthood. Could any normal woman work for an outfit like that?
May 13th, 2013 @ 6:25 pm
They may not have to execute him. Some inmate with nothing to lose may do it for them. Believe it or not, even prisoners have a code of ethics.
May 13th, 2013 @ 6:47 pm
The last child abusers I remember being sent to prison in Tennessee had to place in solitary because inmates would usually kill a child killer. That was back in the late 80s. I doubt things have changed in that regard.
If it happened to Gosnell it would be something he richly deserved.

Why wasn’t he convicted for Baby E?

see, Stacy, this is why you can never reach across the aisle. What’s wrong with a headline like “Foetuses claim another victim?”

I hate to admit it, but that Doonesbury comic is what inspired the hashtag on my own celebratory tweet.

Kermit Gosnell is guilty, but did the jury say abortion equals murder?…
You know what bothers me about the Gosnell verdict? Baby E. The jury acquitted Gosnell in the death of Baby E, the baby who “emitted a sound” before Gosnell snipped his neck….

As a really old fetus I’m glad to see the jury reached a verdict respecting my right to live.
May 14th, 2013 @ 12:38 am
The one he was acquitted for murdering was the baby who only exhaled once, the argument was it could have been post-mortem. This jury did their job with diligence, so I assume they felt there was reasonable doubt on that count.

Stolen from ‘Jack Reacher’ movie, I hope Gosnell spends the rest of his days being passed around from inmate to inmate until they can’t tell his burps from his farts.

Is that really the plural form? Shouldn’t it be “feet-eye” or something? Maybe add an apostrophe?
May 14th, 2013 @ 6:01 pm
Gotta feel sorry for the jury members on this case. Even if a bunch of them were staunch “pro choice” types.
Maybe even especially. That’s one tough road to Damascus.

That might be a bit of an abuse of the term ‘ethics,’ but yeah, they have a history of not tolerating those who abuse children.
In the vast pecking order of society, despite our pretensions, we eventually reach the person or persons who literally become fair game.
