Should Mitt Romney Go To Detroit, Or Venezuela?

Some wags want to draft Mitt Romney to re-habilitate Detroit from the joys of decades of Democrat party policy. However, a far more sizable executive job opening now awaits to the south: Venezuela. Eugene Robinson exemplifies the slack-jawed Lefty urge to suck up to something authoritarian.

Surprisingly, my German wife says that many in the former Commie zone of East Germany recall that era with fondness??!??! So we can expect the usual suspects to maintain their daffy stance:

@smitty_one_each Aw man if Romney was able to bring financial stability to VZ, that would be awesome, for world history.

Unfortunately, in a dozen years Chavez was able to subvert every democratic institution in the country, from the Supreme Court on down, so it isn’t as if Venezuela reverts to democracy now that he is dead.

For my money, George W. Bush’s biggest foreign policy blunder came in 2002 when the generals had arrested Chavez. Bush sent word the US would not condone his execution, the generals succumbed to the mobs protesting and let him go. If Bush had simply said nothing, they would have shot the SOB.

Solomon was wise, and I liked his answer. Split McRomney, and send him to both places!

Somewhere, in a dank mansion, Joe ‘Joe For Oil’ Kennedy is weeping.

[Somewhere Pamela Kelley weeps every, single day.]

Regarding Detroit, I say send a Dem. HRC, Ed Rendell, (lame duck) Deval Patrick, etc. It won’t help, but then again the Dems will own it, as they should.

A few decades living neck-deep in that squalor will merely convince them that all of America needs more socialism.

    Their minds don’t work right.
