Green: The Color of Stupidity

Posted on | February 18, 2013 | 12 Comments

Andy at AOSHQ calls attention to an amusing episode of environmentalist stupidity: About 5,000 people showed up in D.C. for a protest against the Keystone XL pipeline. The free-market group Center for Industrial Progress attended in a counter-protest capacity, but the environmentalists were too stupid to get it:

We wore shirts with the equation “Anti-Fossil + Anti-Nuclear = Pro-Blackout.” While we were preparing, at least a dozen protestors unthinkingly tried to buy the shirts condemning their position. . . .
The mindlessness of the protest was highlighted by the typical response to a series of questions we asked. 1) “Are you anti-fossil fuel?” “Yes!” 2) “Are you anti-nuclear?” “Yes”! 3) “Are you pro-blackout?” “Yes!” . . .

Bebel said anti-Semitism is the socialism of fools. Environmentalism is the socialism of people too stupid even for anti-Semitism.

I’ve long advocated dumping greenies and envirotards into the Yukon during spring, with the clothes on their backs, a pocket knife, some matches, and a day or two of food. With a compass for 1 person in 5, and the suggestion to head south before winter hits. Anyone who makes it back to civilization can re-join us, but they won’t be eligible vote until age 60.

    That’ll larn ’em.

Don’t chalk it up to stupidity. They ARE pro-blackout. Also pro massive die off. Pro mandatory abortion. Pro forced sterilization.

It’s not too early to pick out your ice floe for retirement, citizen!

As the great comedian, Stan Laurel once said, “You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead.” And this clip is completely put into context when you consider that this clown’s got the intelligence of a pencil… never mind the fact that he’s barely old enough to grow any hair on that lip. BTW, how many trees are killed every year by pencil manufacturers?? EVIL EARTH KILLERS!!

I noticed the media coverage only included photos from within the crowd, which always makes it seem bigger. 5000 explains that – an aerial shot or picture from atop a nearby building would show that 5000 isn’t so many on the Mall. On a nice day that many probably have lunch at or around it.

A fun tactic to deal with this kind of crowd is to go around with a petition board and a cameraman and get as many as possible to sign onto a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide.

[…] This video perfectly ties together my post about the frigid anti-Keystone rally in DC with the one about how human beings are getting dumber. I think these people are really bringing down the average. The free market group Center for Industrial Progress showed up for the protest in DC to counter it, and was selling t-shirts that read “Anti-Fossil + Anti-Nuclear = Pro-Blackout” and the greenies agreed wholeheartedly that they are pro-blackout. Absolutely yes! […]

    In over the transom:

The only reason I’m an environmentalist is because A) You don’t have to learn any science, you just get to act like you “know” science. and B) You get to laugh at everyone else and say they are afraid of or don’t believe in science.
