Washington Post Reports Menendez Corruption, Downplays Jailbait Hookers

Even when they can’t find a way to avoid covering a Democrat Party scandal, they strive valiantly to retain their precious moral superiority. Front-page headine in the Washington Post:

Sen. Menendez contacted top officials
in friend’s Medicare dispute

However, as Jeffrey Meyer points out at Newsbusters, the 43-paragraph front-page story ignores the sexual allegations against Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), which are relegated to a Style section article by Manuel Roig-Franzia derogating the prostitution angle and those who originally broke the story:

After providing four paragraphs on page C4 outlining the prostitution scandal, the article then went into an 17 additional paragraphs on the layout and atmosphere of the resort community known as “Casa de Campo” . . .
Roig-Franzia vehemently tried to refute the prostitution allegations against Menendez by mentioning, “the allegations — made by an anonymous whistleblower and first publicized on a conservative Web site — have not been verified independently.” . . . Roig-Franzia seems intent on suggesting it’s near impossible for a hooker to slip by Casa de Campo’s crack security staff . . .

Notice how closely the WaPo‘s “Don’t Believe Right-Wing Blogs” meme echoes Menendez’s own narrative, described by Michelle Malkin:

In his latest statement on the matter Monday, Menendez repeated his blanket denials of any wrongdoing, recycled his attack on conservative media reporting the story and labeled accounts of the alleged island sex parties “smears.” . . .
While Melgen shelled out millions to Menendez and the Democratic Party over the years, he is a serial tax evader. The jet-setting doc incurred liens of $1.3 million before 2002, $6.2 million in 2011, and a still outstanding $11.1 million lien between 2006 and 2009. And the FBI and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services — not a part of the “right-wing” blogosphere the last time I checked — are now sifting through boxes of documents they carted away during last week’s raid of Melgen’s offices as part of a Medicare fraud investigation.
The feds finally acted after a document shredding truck was spotted outside Melgen’s clinic. I think it’s safe to say a “right-wing blog” didn’t send it.

Mendendez’s dismissal of “smears” by “right-wing blogs,” and the WaPo’s contemptuous attitude toward “allegations . . . publicized on a conservative Web site” are essentially the same meme: Attack the credibility of Matthew Boyle, who broke the story at the Daily Caller.

Menendez’s motives for attacking Boyle are obvious, as are the mainstream media’s: If the WaPo were to acknowledge that Boyle was right about Menendez, this raises the question of why the WaPo (with its large staff of professional journalists) didn’t follow-up on that scoop.

    WaPo is simply waiting for the feminist groups to get in line supporting perversion in the name of progress. Like they did with Bill Clinton. Then they won’t even have to bother covering the fact that Senator Menendez had sex with underage girls.

    Let’s face it: how are you going to prove Menendez had sex with UNDERAGE hookers in Dominican? Bring the girls as eyewitnesses? Imagine the defense cross-examination: “Have you ever lied? Stolen? What about all these arrests?”

    The major felony here is the sale of influence of a federal official. “Jailbait hookers” draws a lot more search engine hits, that’s all.

    Oh, WaPo will be certain to cover that scoop as soon as they cover the Obamacare fraud scoop, the Fast-N-Furious scoop, the Benghazi scoop, the Improper Recess Appointments scoop, the No-Tax on the Middle Class scoop, etc. Their plate is really full. It’s all a matter of prioritizing scoops and there’s this bottleneck in the Scoop Department. Patience, please, for these truth-tellers are just trying to process the data.

    People need to start flooding these sites. Don’t get mad, don’t leave long diatribes about the injustice of it all. Just leave two words: UNDERAGED HOOKERS.

    This is the way you handle these MSM assholes. When they whitewash a story, don’t lecture them. They won’t listen anyway. Just slap them in the face like the French do.

    When they make fun of people who talk about the 2nd Amendment and tyranny: JAPANESE AMERICAN INTERNMENT CAMPS.

    When they talk about saving the children: 176 CHILDREN KILLED BY PRESIDENT’S DRONE STRIKES.

    Don’t argue. Just win.

    I’m saying the major corruption felony is what is important AND prosecutable. Sex scandals don’t bring down Democrats. Remember Gerry Studds?

    The only exception in recent memory is Mel Reynolds – who was reelected under indictment, but resigned when he was actually CONVICTED and sent to prison.

    i know this is pedantic, but it’s OK to call them the Democratic Party. it’s just a name, we’re not talking about small-letter democrats or republicans. i don’t get how “Democrat Party” disparages Democrats any more than if people took to calling the Republicans the Republic Party. it just looks weird.

    Media is the battlefield and the Right has to depend on guerilla tactics because of the lopsided odds. The MSM are the Red Coats and Conservative Bloggers are the Minute Men and Continental Army. Andrew Breitbart was our George Washington. We need another Breitbart.

    I understand why the Right does this, but I disagree with the use of the term ‘Democrat Party’ for another reason: the term ‘Democratic party is more appropriate because they favor Democracy, which is not what America under The Constitution is.
