For A Nobel Peace Prize Winner, That President Sure Sows Some Strife

Here is an example of a divisive argument:

“Most of ‘us’ used to be ‘them,'” Obama said. “Unless you were one of the first Americans — a Native American — you came from someplace else,” he added, listing off waves of immigrants. “All of those folks — before they were ‘us,’ they were ‘them.'”

  1. The Native Americans–did they not come from somewhere, too? Or does the doctrine of Holy Progress subscribe to spontaneous generation?
  2. I’m from here Mr. President. 100 years on mom’s side, 150 on dad’s. At what point do I get a pass where I’m considered ‘native’ enough that I’m free of your resentment farming, sir?
  3. How can you possibly claim to be anything like a uniter when you’re deliberately setting people against each other?

I sure hope the idiots who voted for and support you come to understand that you view them as meat, Mr. President.

Three hundred and sixty years here (before they invented numerals), on my dad’s side.

Mother’s Father’s side: between 1710-1739, not sure when he came over from England.

I’ve even got the Grievance claim wrapped up, since my ancestor was deported to America and sold into indentured servitude because his side lost a battle in one of the Cromwellian wars.

I’ve got you beat: my mother’s side of the family came over on the Mayflower! My 393 years has McGehee’s 360 beat! 🙂

But. let’s face it: everybody’s family came from someplace else. If you family was British, you have Norman French and Danish and Angles and Saxons and Welsh and Scots and Irish all mixed in there as well. Supposedly, we’re all at least 20th cousins.

Well…being 20th cousins explains why the Left thinks all wez conservatives is rednecks.

Evidence suggests the Native Americans were late to the party. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/new-evidence-suggests-stone-age-hunters-from-europe-discovered-america-7447152.html
Does that further invalidate Obama’s speechwriter’s pseudo-history lesson?

    The Mayflower?

Champagne brunches at the captain’s table, lah-di-dah!

My ancestor had to row the ship he was on. With a badminton racquet.

Before the USA became a Nation there was no such thing as a Native American… White folk called them savages, Indians and God knows what else

1898 for ours. We may be Irish but we were smart enough to wait for Steam propulsion to be invented. And smarter yet not to wait around for the Crown’s representatives on the pier. Rebels, sheep thieves, whatever…

Johnny-come lately endemonized Protestant scum, the lot of you! My mother’s people have been in what eventually became New Mexico since the late 16th century, hiding out from the Inquisition.

I’ll join you on that grievance … Clicks were sold out of English debtors prison and arrived here in 1697. Worked over 60 years on a VA plantation to pay off the bond.
