Obama Promises 2013 Gun-Grab Bill; Warns ‘There Will Be Resistance’

Never let a crisis go to waste:
Recalling the shooting of 20 first graders as the worst day of his presidency, President Barack Obama on Sunday pledged to put his “full weight” behind a legislative package next year aimed at containing gun violence.
In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Obama voiced skepticism about proposals to place armed guards at schools in the aftermath of the Dec. 14 deadly assault at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. . . .
Obama said he intended to press the issue with the public. . . .
“Will there be resistance? Absolutely there will be resistance,” he said.
“The question then becomes whether we are actually shook up enough by what happened here that it does not just become another one of these routine episodes where it gets a lot of attention for a couple of weeks and then it drifts away. It certainly won’t feel like that to me. This is something that – you know, that was the worst day of my presidency. And it’s not something that I want to see repeated.”
Does the phrase “cold dead hands” ring a bell?

Virginia Arms, in Manassas, was sold out of all modern sporting rifles on Wednesday. Walls were bare except for a few shotguns.
No 5.56 available there either.

We will see about that…

And right on Cue, we have Lindsey Graham congratulating Obama for winning, and telling us he’ll vote for higher taxes.
Is this the kind of spine that resists gun control legislation?
I doubt it.

Typical Obama bull crap. The economy should (still) top the list of priorities and he’s picking the scab off a national wound for ideological gain. Once an asshole, always an asshole.

Welcome to the Permanent Campaign. Obama is only interested in keeping his base and the media on his side, and everyone else ignored, marginalized, and shouted down.
This is what America voted for, isn’t it? They should have asked Obama for the details of the “fundamental change” he promised.

Oh, yes, there WILL be resistance.
First, any such act of Congress, criminalizing previously acquired legal firearms, would be unconstitutional ex post facto legislation, and thus null, void, and of no effect.
http://granitegrok.com/blog/2012/12/they-cant-criminalize-us-after-the-fact-ex-post-facto-legislation-prohibited
Second, we would be foolish to put ourselves on their radar for future seizure.
Third, cold dead fingers, see above.

Skeptical about armed guards in schools, sure, because armed guards are not for the schoolchildren of the little people, just as scholarships to those same schools should not be made available to poor black parents (Obama insisted on shutting the DC opportunity scholarship program).

If Obama’s gambling that their side can “win” here, like they did with “tax the rich”, he’s playing Russian roulette.

Sure is too bad that all my firearms were in the canoe when it capsized in the deepest part of that swift river. I’m lucky to be alive, especially since I hit my head in the wreck and can’t remember precisely where I was.

When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun
When the law break in
How you gonna go?
Shot down on the pavement
Or waiting on death row
You can crush us
You can bruise us
But you’ll have to answer to
Oh, the guns of Brixton

you know, that was the worst day of my presidency. And it’s not something that I want to see repeated.
Does he mention the parents of the murdered children, or the spouses and families of the adults who were murdered? Kind of a rough day for them, too.
No, it’s always about him, our Narcissist in Chief — “the worst day of my presidency.”
And to think we have to abide four more years of this disgusting, self-centered charlatan..

How was this tragedy the job of The President of the United States? While tragic, why can’t this be handled at the state level? Damn it Barry, do your job at the Commander in Chief level (Afghanistan, Middle East, Benghazi) and quit making a federal case out of everything domestic.

Never underestimate someone who’s absolutely willing to backdoor legislation and Rahm things through. If he ever gets the court, this country is screwed. He has the Senate and the propaganda wing so messaging is all going to go his way. That only leaves Republicans and there are some real squishy Republicans out there who can’t take the heat.
Pray for the health of all the conservative justices and pray that Obama overplays his hand before the 2014 elections.
