NBC: Nothing But Criminals

America’s least-trustworthy news organization and its most dishonest “journalist” have gotten themselves caught red-handed:
The Washington Metropolitan Police Department is investigating whether any city laws were violated when NBC’s David Gregory displayed what appeared to be a 30-round gun magazine on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday . . .
“The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating this matter,” said police officer and spokesman Araz Alali in an interview Tuesday. . . .
“There are D.C. code violations, D.C. code restrictions on guns, ammunition. We are investigating this matter. Beyond the scope of that, I can’t comment any further,” he said.
On Sunday, in an interview with the National Rifle Association’s head, Wayne LaPierre, Gregory displayed what appeared to be a 30-bullet gun magazine. He pushed LaPierre on the question of whether fewer children would have died during the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre this month had the gunman had access to fewer bullets.
NBC is stonewalling Professor William Jacobson:
My multiple attempts last Sunday to obtain a response from NBC News as to whether the magazine was real were met with stone cold silence. None of the three senior communications executives with responsibility for Meet the Press responded.
Video of the Meet the Press segment in which David Gregory says “here is a magazine for ammunition that carries 30 bullets”:
Meet the Press is recorded in D.C., where possession of a 30-round magazine is a crime. If David Gregory was telling the truth — if that was indeed an actual high-capacity magazine — then he and NBC News broke the law. Alternatively, if Gregory was lying and the “magazine” was just a phony prop, then NBC News deliberately deceived viewers.
Clearly, David Gregory must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and NBC should be declared a terrorist organization by the Department of Homeland Security, so that everyone associated with the network is subjected to hands-on searches by TSA agents at airports.
OK, maybe that’s going a little overboard. But clearly NBC News as an organization is hostile to Americans’ constitutional rights.

If NBC is hostile to the Constitution of the United States, prosecuting Gregory should draw attention to how blatantly unconstitutional any “gun control” law is, correct?
Isn’t that the discussion about “gun control” that America really needs to have? Any society disarmed by the State has no means to resist the State. This has been true for centuries.
Perhaps Gregory would like his home address listed on an interactive map of non-gun owners as well, yes?

At :45 LaPierre starts to make a point about “what will work…” and Gregory cuts him off. That’s the NBC style: Don’t let your opponent make any positive points in the debate.

What is more indicative of the futility of “gun laws” than the fact that a man can brandish a banned accessory on television in flagrant violation of the law and the question of whether or not to arrest and/or prosecute him and his suppliers takes takes, perhaps weeks? Gregory could have emptied the clip on the sidewalk outside entering or leaving the studio every day since.
Honesty and consistency aren’t considered useful attributes at NBC or the DC Police Department.

You can’t do much with a 30 bullet magazine. All you have is a box of bullets. 30 rounds or cartridges is a different matter. Cartridges go in magazines. A cartridge consists of a bullet, case, primer and powder. A bullet alone is just a piece of inert metal.
The ignorance of the left is always on open display. They are simply too stupid and ignorant to realize it.

Yeah, Stacy, that pat-down idea’s completely ridiculous. Who would they get to search Mr. Tingle Up My Leg?

Jacobson’s update of this morning is really good:

But personally I like how concisely Moe Lane put it yesterday: “David Gregory thinks that he is protected by privilege – which, as Robert Anton Wilson once reminded us, literally means ‘private law.’ The DC law is absurd and inequitable; it should be repealed. But if it is not going to be repealed then it absolutely must be enforced equitably.”

And here’s the quote from Robert Anton Wilson he’s referencing:

If the DC police encountered John Q. Citizen in possession of an illegal magazine, wouldn’t they have probable cause to search his home or car for a weapon it attached to?
